+swambast Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 What is the best way to set my .jpg transparency map in 3ds max such that the game will use it? Do I simply add it under the "opacity" map and if so what value would be needed? Quote
+Julhelm Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 You have to use .tga for alpha maps and you set it up by dragging an instance of your map into the opacity slot and changing 'mono channel' to alpha. Then need to click the 'global' texture toggle in the material. Quote
+swambast Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 Thanks Julhelm. So it sounds like there's no way to use a different diffuse map supported by a separate alpha texture map...sucks for me. Quote
+swambast Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 Rends, they don't which is why you would need to build another/separate transparency map... Quote
