ignacioc91 Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Hi!!! I would like to increase the catapult power of aircraft carriers. I was trying with the LHA Tarawa, as my Harriers do not gain enough speed and I end up in the water. Taking a look at the DATA.ini, I found this: [Cat1] SystemType=CATAPULT CatapultID=1 StartPosition=-7.15,-10.0,16.70 EndPosition=-7.15,-10.0,16.70 LaunchTime=0.1 LaunchEffect= CatapultEffect= ReadyAnimationID= ReadyAnimationTime= What entry should I modify?? Thanks!!!!
Hans Topp Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Maybe launch time, minus time more aceleration......
MAKO69 Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 How are you taking off with the harrier? Are you vectoring the jet's nozzles properly? Try a lighter load.
ignacioc91 Posted July 5, 2014 Author Posted July 5, 2014 I am taking off with the nozzels i a horizontal possition. What is the propper way for take-off?
Hans Topp Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 I am taking off with the nozzels i a horizontal possition. What is the propper way for take-off? With sky jump i believe that its correct, but with flat deck like Tarawa maybe lighter loadout
MAKO69 Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 I am taking off with the nozzels i a horizontal possition. What is the propper way for take-off? Even with the ski jump UK carriers use full flaps and nozzles are vectored down about 1/4 the way towards vertical thrust as your airspeed gets to 150kts you can start to vector to horizontal thrust. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKH8NJX51Cg
+Fubar512 Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Ignacio, The catapult end points can be adjusted to simulate VTOL quite easily, as evidenced by this video that I created a couple of years ago:
