I thought the IAF was Indian? Aren't the Israelis the IDF/AF? Or 'Air & Space Forces', or whatever, now?

Why always english abbreviation for naming an Air Force. Call it Heyl Ha'Avir and it is clear. Its the same with Luftwaffe, nobody says GAF. Or on the other side of the iron curtain LSK and not EGAF.
