Brevity Code for Rocket Pod Launch?

Recommended Posts

Hi all.  Just a quick question.  I'm now in the stage of my game development where I'm writing out my scripts for in game events.  One of these is Rocket Pod launch.  Since I'm using proper Brevity codes, (Like 'Fox Three' for Multi-Target AA's, and 'Pickle' for Bombs, etc), I need to know the one for Rockets.  Thing is, I can't find it.  I thought it was 'Shotgun' at first.  Makes sense, since a Rocket Pod fires multiple projectiles like a Shotgun, so can someone enlighten me here on this?

Cheers from England. :D

I am no pilot, but there is no such animal. The brevity codes were to give a radio warning to unsuspecting friendlies that missiles were in the air. When laying ordnance on a ground target, the FAC clears the plane in hot - clearing him to release on the designated target because there are no friendly aircraft in the immediate area - no "bombs away" or such needed. The next action is a loud noise and likely bright flash, and the radio call from the attacking aircraft that he is off the target.

Ah I see.  That slipped me that possibility.  Oh well, I'll just have to use stuff like 'Cleared Hot' and 'Off Target'.  Cheers. :)

Hi DatBritish

'Shotgun' is the brevity code for launch of an anti-radiation missile, eg. Shrike, or HARM (Brevity code for AGM-88 HARM is actually 'Magnum' sorry.  'Rifle' for AGM-65 Maverick is pretty cool too).

I think this is what you want.

NAILS (direction)       1. RWR indication of AI radar in search.

                                    2. * [A/S] 2.75-inch flechette rockets.
