Hello,

It is me again. I have WoV and tried to install this campaign using JSGME.

Everything is well except for the terrain since I don't have a desert.cat?

Is this campaign only supposed to work with SFP1? Or is there a comparable desert.cat available somewhere?

Again, I'm grateful for any help.

/Mats

Hi pilot again :biggrin:

I had installed this campaign e few months ago.

I haven't got SFP1. I had WOV, and now I am using WOE/WOV merged installation. What you need is to copy VietnamSEA.cat into IR terrain folder, and rename it to IR.

That's it, I think.

Desert.cat is integrated into SFP1. There is one way only, to get Desert.cat (I mean original Desert.cat). We must have SFP1.

Happy hunting :fan_1:

Thanks again kukulino!

Now I have a working terrain, it hasn't got any textures though, and no planning map texture. Any ideas how to solve this?

And it seems like the loadouts are messed up somehow. I have got the latest weapons pack. I changed "WP" to "SOVIET" in the russian aircraft data.inis but still some weapons that are available can't be loaded. The AIM-9P for the Iranian F-4s for example.

I really want this campaign to work, it appears to be very well made.

IIRC there should be a planning map in the package. As for the terrain textures, I suggest this set.

I haven't got idea about it. I had similar difficulties with Migs. I used them in Mideast campaigns and in this campaign too (in the same installation WOV). It was bad. I rewrited this line, than that line in aicraftdata.ini... It was circus. After many experimentations it works good. But I don't know, which lines I edited :dntknw:

AIM-9P: You can't load it in the campaign or in the single mission, or never?

In the F-4E_LOADOUT.ini (campaign package) are this lines:

[AirToAir]

Loadout[06].WeaponType=AIM-7E

Loadout[06].Quantity=1

Loadout[07].WeaponType=AIM-7E

Loadout[07].Quantity=1

Loadout[08].WeaponType=AIM-7E

Loadout[08].Quantity=1

Loadout[09].WeaponType=AIM-7E

Loadout[09].Quantity=1

Loadout[10].WeaponType=AIM-9E <---- isn't this problem?

Loadout[10].Quantity=1

Loadout[11].WeaponType=AIM-9E <----

Loadout[11].Quantity=1

Loadout[12].WeaponType=AIM-9E <----

Loadout[12].Quantity=1

Loadout[13].WeaponType=AIM-9E <----

In the IranIraq_DATA.ini are these values for F-4E:

You're ALL wrong...if you look carefully in the weaponsdata ini, you'll find Iranian specific weapons, as well as Iraqi specific weapons. This goes for ANY country using ANY of the Soviet equipment - they have country specific versions of the Ruskie missiles, bombs, RP, etc. Since the Iranians are no longer considered friendly, they too, get their own versions fo the American weapons.

Once you get the aircraft loadouts fixed, then and ONLY then, can you go into the campaing ini, and change those weapons to the correct, country specific types.

Amongst all the work I'm doing on the DS mod, I've been looking at the Iran/Iraq one as well....I've several of the aircraft already adjusted for use of their countries specific weapons types, as well as 'fixing' the F-4Ds hardpoint problems.

As soon as I can find the time, I'll be posting the fixes in the 'Loadout Fixes' thread in the Knowledge Base. Right now, it's about 2 weeks behind (load fixes), from where I want it to be. Haven't even touched the French, Isreali, WW2 or some of the other more 'odd-ball' types.

As to fixing your terrain problems, you're on the right track...but you don't actually need to have the cat file in the terrain folder.

There's a real nice tutorial on how to make the fix in the KB "Third Pary Terrains", I think it's called. You will, however, still need the desert tiles, either Dueces or Polaks.

One just needs to to a little leg work...most of the answers are already out there.
