Wrench 9,855 Posted May 24, 2015 I'm still pissed off that the ones I really wanted to see were either in the wee hours of the morning or way too early Air Force (1943) Action in the North Atlantic 30 Seconds Over Tokyo Sahara (fortuntately, I have all but AITNA on dvd)
Skyviper 1,101 Posted May 24, 2015 I'm still pissed off that the ones I really wanted to see were either in the wee hours of the morning or way too early Air Force (1943) Action in the North Atlantic 30 Seconds Over Tokyo Sahara (fortuntately, I have all but AITNA on dvd) I know! I feel the same way too. Battle of the Bulge I haven't seen in a while I saw the time slot last night for it couldn't believe it. That movie should have been the one that played in the afternoon. But I have the day off tomorrow and there are movies I'll be watching back to back. the Dirty Dozen and Kelly's Heroes. And because I'm already up before the risin' sun I might catch the Flying Leathernecks. Never really got to watch that one in full or in a decent enough segment to see if I wanted to buy it or something.
+pcpilot 181 Posted May 25, 2015 (edited) I got lucky a few months ago and got a double feature DVD with Kellys' heroes AND Dirty Dozen. How lucky is that? It was in the $5 bin at Walmart, lol. Watched them both twice now. Guess that would be a good choice for Memorial day too... :) Edited May 28, 2015 by pcpilot
Skyviper 1,101 Posted May 25, 2015 oh man that is awesome! Good for you. I'd go to Wal-Mart to try my chances ... but it being memorial day and all screw it. Clarification for those that don't know Wal-Mart is the WORST place to go during ANY holidays. Especially in a small town like mine which means everyone's mother brother sister aunt uncle and friend of the family will be there.
Wrench 9,855 Posted May 25, 2015 ....and their dogs, too!! I always thought it was pronounced as "The Wal-mart"?? (wife has relatives in the south, and that's how they say it)

If those are too new tech, I have another three that work just as well: VCR!

Skyviper 1,101 Posted May 27, 2015 I have three letters for you: DVR. If those are too new tech, I have another three that work just as well: VCR! I don't know. Is DVR really worth it though? I'm one of those people that when I get stuff like there is nothing good to record. Like back in the day when we got HBO (or that little box that you had to hook up to your TV to get the extra channels) as soon as we'd get that ... nothing good ever came on. Though the VCR method I forgot about! ....and their dogs, too!! I always thought it was pronounced as "The Wal-mart"?? (wife has relatives in the south, and that's how they say it) Yep and their dogs.
JediMaster 451 Posted May 29, 2015 I get my DVR from the cable company for just a few dollars more than the non-DVR box. It is SO worth it. With a VCR, you had to know when something was coming on and what channel and make sure the tape had enough room blah blah blah. With the DVR, you look at the guide, see it, click the button, it records it and you watch it when you want later. Easy. Never had a 3rd party model like Tivo or whatever, so I can't speak to them.
