MigBuster 2,884 Posted October 2, 2015 Sam Smith's Writing's On The Wall has made history by becoming the first Bond theme to reach number one in the UK. The track achieved combined chart sales and streams of 70,000 copies - 13,000 ahead of its closest competitor, Justin Bieber's What Do You Mean? The previous highest-charting Bond themes were Adele's Skyfall and Duran Duran's View To A Kill, which both reached number two. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-34425299
B52STRATO 215 Posted October 2, 2015 I was hoping to see License to Kill, Goldeneye, the Man with a Golden Gun or even For Your Eyes Only better placed. But not so supprising when you think we're in a world where 2010's is marked by a viewing reord of more than a billion for "Oooopa Gangbang Style"... and what about the 90's and these legendary lyrics : Ppoipn kjfzkhjz uzeyoi ldjazoi lkj!lkzeolikze LOJn,lujazopipo poîpoi ezôiêpz $ô$ rkfooi dgiuyte uyrefrttre iueyrtrtrdfsqytr iuyaz dsqyt Eeeeh ! MigBuster 2,884 Posted October 3, 2015 Gangbang style or whatever kept Skyfall from the top spot if I remember correctly. Shame really there have been some great tracks over the years
Fubar512 1,350 Posted October 5, 2015 Funny, as I recall "Live and Let Die" getting way more air play here in the 'States than any other Bond theme before or since, followed by "Nobody does it better".

JediMaster 451 Posted October 6, 2015 This is misleading because the modern state of the music industry is so poor that you can have a number one album with less than 50,000 sales. Duran Duran's number two chart hit sold MANY times as many copies and generated a ton more revenue for all involved. Nowadays being #1 is only a marketing thing because in real terms it means squat. As for ranking, I do it by decade. 60s - Goldfinger 70s - Live and Let Die 80s - View to a Kill 90s - Goldeneye 00s - Casino Royale 10s - Skyfall (so far)
