RustyKurnass Posted March 18, 2017 Author Posted March 18, 2017 [Decal001] MeshName=Nose DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=RIGHT FilenameFormat=Insignia Position=4.707,-0.113 Scale=1.5 DecalMaxLOD=4 Decal001 for example has decalfacing=right/left (red marked), so you need to reduce the orange number to move the decal back --> 4.707-1.75=2.957 So replace the orange number with the green one. [Decal007] MeshName=Left_Wing DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=TOP FilenameFormat=Insignia Position=-2.75,0.15 Scale=1.8 DecalMaxLOD=4 Same as above just for decalfacing=TOP and BOTTOM (light blue marked). Adjust the blue number this time. 0.15-1.75=-1.6 So replace the blue number with the gray one. Do this for all decals. 1.75 is a guess here, maybe you need to adjust this number. Trial and error. Okj,so now I start to edit.... Quote
RustyKurnass Posted March 18, 2017 Author Posted March 18, 2017 Ok, I created a Decals.ini copy to work with and the result is this: [Decal001]MeshName=NoseDecalLevel=0DecalFacing=RIGHTFilenameFormat=InsigniaPosition=2.957,-0.113Scale=1.5DecalMaxLOD=4[Decal002]MeshName=NoseDecalLevel=0DecalFacing=LEFTFilenameFormat=InsigniaPosition=2.957,-0.113Scale=1.5DecalMaxLOD=4[Decal003]MeshName=Airbrake_RightDecalLevel=0DecalFacing=RIGHTFilenameFormat=NationNamePosition=-0.15,-0.05Scale=1.3DecalMaxLOD=3[Decal004]MeshName=Airbrake_LeftDecalLevel=0DecalFacing=LEFTFilenameFormat=NationNamePosition=-0.15,-0.05Scale=1.3DecalMaxLOD=3[Decal005]MeshName=Left_Outer_WingDecalLevel=0DecalFacing=TOPFilenameFormat=InsigniaPosition=-2.75,0.15Scale=1.8DecalMaxLOD=4[Decal006]MeshName=Right_Outer_WingDecalLevel=0DecalFacing=BOTTOMFilenameFormat=InsigniaPosition=2.75,1.6Scale=1.8DecalMaxLOD=4[Decal007]MeshName=Left_WingDecalLevel=0DecalFacing=TOPFilenameFormat=InsigniaPosition=-2.75,1.6Scale=1.8DecalMaxLOD=4[Decal008]MeshName=Right_WingDecalLevel=0DecalFacing=BOTTOMFilenameFormat=InsigniaPosition=2.75,1.6Scale=1.8DecalMaxLOD=4[Decal009]MeshName=FuselageDecalLevel=0DecalFacing=RIGHTFilenameFormat=NationNamePosition=-0.15,-0.05Scale=1.3DecalMaxLOD=3[Decal010]MeshName=FuselageDecalLevel=0DecalFacing=LEFTFilenameFormat=NationNamePosition=-0.15,-0.05Scale=1.3DecalMaxLOD=3[Decal011]MeshName=NoseDecalLevel=2DecalFacing=RIGHTFilenameFormat=USNAttackNumPosition=4.26,-0.248Scale=0.72DecalMaxLOD=3[Decal012]MeshName=NoseDecalLevel=2DecalFacing=LEFTFilenameFormat=USNAttackNumPosition=4.26,-0.248Scale=0.72DecalMaxLOD=3[Decal013]MeshName=VertTailDecalLevel=2DecalFacing=RIGHTFilenameFormat=A-4L/VC13/D/13bnPosition=-o.05,0.78Scale=1.5DecalMaxLOD=3[Decal014]MeshName=VertTailDecalLevel=2DecalFacing=LEFTFilenameFormat=A-4L/VC13/D/13bnPosition=-0.05,0.78Scale=1.5DecalMaxLOD=3[Decal015]MeshName=FuselageDecalLevel=2DecalFacing=LEFTFilenameFormat=A-4L\VC13\D\13anPosition=-1.56,0.09Scale=0.74DecalMaxLOD=3[Decal016]MeshName=FuselageDecalLevel=2DecalFacing=RIGHTFilenameFormat=A-4L\VC13\D\13anPosition=-1.56,0.09Scale=0.74DecalMaxLOD=3 Now I replace the previous one and run a single mission. RustyKurnass Posted March 18, 2017 Author Posted March 18, 2017 Ok Nyghtfall, I've replaced the decals.ini and run the game. the nose star&bars and modex are better, will be a little fwd but are waay better: all other decals still missed or wrong placed. Ok,back to the ini.... Quote
Nyghtfall Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 well, from what i can tell, you messed up the math ;) for example [Decal004]MeshName=Airbrake_LeftDecalLevel=0DecalFacing=LEFTFilenameFormat=NationNamePosition=-1.9,-0.05Scale=1.3DecalMaxLOD=3 -1.9 - 1.75 = -3,65 (yours is -0.15) also you missed a "-" (minus) on the second number for decal 7 and 8. RustyKurnass Posted March 18, 2017 Author Posted March 18, 2017 You're right !!!! Ok after the correction Still miss the modex on the upper right wing and Bu.Nos. both bigger on the fin and smaller, fwd of the exhaust. Quote

I solved;the lines readins ( as per original ) FilenameFormat=A-4L\VC13\D\13bn and FilenameFormat=A-4L\VC13\D\13an Now,'cause Ive installed the skins in the Aircraft\A-4C_65\VA-216 and the decals in the Decals\A-4C_65\VA-216\d,simply the game don't found them. So,after re-editing the lines as FilenameFormat=A-4C_65\VA-216\D\13bn and FilenameFormat=A-4C_65\VA-216\D\13an Now,after the necessary corrections and your new lines, the decals are complete! Thank you sir for all the interest to help me,honored Quote
Wrench Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 For further notations, NONE of the decal positions on ANY 1st Gen skin mod are correct in SF2. The entire line of aircraft models (lods) were either rebuilt or reformated for SF2 use. Many aircraft had new meshes cut into their model, further complicating things. What was done, I think, was relocating the "world center" of the aircraft (iirc) more at the 0,0,0 position. This moved all the previous decals into all wrong positions. the easiest fix is to simply use the positions from a STOCK SF2 skin into the existing 1stGen decals ini (backup the original of course). Just extract the decals ini for a stock skin for whatever model, and just rewrite the pathways to fit the decals of the old one. This has been done hundreds of times; best example are the Mytai F-4 Phantom skins Quote

RustyKurnass Posted March 21, 2017 Author Posted March 21, 2017 (edited) Hello guys, I post here my daily issue as I don't think will be worthwhile open a new topic. I've installed the SF2 Ov-10 pack in my Viet campaign and work well. The only issue is that I can't load any fuel tanks;conversely in the ODS game all work properly. I tried also to add the ODS tank and edit the line in the Data.ini and loadout but nothing...maybe some outdated inis? Again,I've installed ludo's Mirage 5F,and only the Jl-100R Don't work,I can't fire the rockets, ( in this case is possible replace the latter weapons with the TK stock JL-100,I can use it in the DLC Mirage 5BA;which I'll do to make it compatible with the 5F?). Any help? Edited March 25, 2017 by RustyKurnass Quote
RustyKurnass Posted March 26, 2017 Author Posted March 26, 2017 (edited) Good night all guys. Daily question:I've downloaded and added to my A-6A in SF2V A&G Exp. the SF! ' VMA-224 skin. Thanks to the previous suggestion from Wrench, for the Decals.ini I've simply copy/paste the lines from the A-6A in the SF2NA Exp. I've solved the problem with the black tanks by simply copy/paste the tanks BMPs again from NA's. Despite the simply trick of copy the decals lines,I've a problem with the Sq. name and the rudder markings. So after searching and found what are the related FileNameFormates,I've corrected the position to a more "real" one. I've also been able to add the decals to show the Sq. name on the fuel tanks, but the problem with the Unit name still nothing! What is the problem? In the skin maps I noted that the airbrakes are "separate" from the fuselage, this can be a cause of the decals to look as if it ended under the speedbrakes? The decal lines [Decal011]MeshName=left_speed_brakeDecalLevel=2DecalFacing=LEFTFilenameFormat=A-6A\VMA224\d\vma-224Position=-7.85,0.85Scale=1.2DecalMaxLOD=3 Edited March 26, 2017 by RustyKurnass Quote
RustyKurnass Posted March 27, 2017 Author Posted March 27, 2017 (edited) Ehi Wrench,I downloaded and installed the Lodviewer, but when I open the interested folder ( A-6A),the program stated that no LOD file can be loaded. Work for the JL-100R,showing me the weapon model;but anyway,I don't know what I need to do with the LOD! I told several times that I'm totally unable to work with a PC ( and achieve these little goal like the skin and custom loadout for example, are for me great goal).... RustyKurnass Posted March 28, 2017 Author Posted March 28, 2017 You're probably right Wrench...I've the LODViewer V0.5.1 Full. The problem is that in the great number of hte planes folders, aren't the LOD files...For the A-6A,the ONLY LOD is the one in the FOTI folder, and I don't know if is useful. This's the content of my A-6A folder What LODViewer view when I open the file... ...and the "error" message. Quote
Wrench Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 you have to click in the main ini (ie: A-6A.ini) Quote
RustyKurnass Posted March 28, 2017 Author Posted March 28, 2017 you have to click in the main ini (ie: A-6A.ini) Mate, believe me,I did it,but I received always the message "Could not load LOD file". I tried in "vanilla" EXE and in the modded ones, but with not success... Quote
