.rar files??? How to open / install???

Another dumb nubie question,

 

How does a guy go about applying .rar files? Just downloaded the F-4D HighRes cockpit but it is in the .rar format with no read me instructions???

Alternatively you can use ExtractNow, at http://www.extractnow.com/

 

Last time I downloaded it was freeware (dont know if still is), it does not compress but it does extract .rar, .ace and others

Is winrar a secret, or something? Like, is it too much trouble to add a web address when replying?

You have to be careful when installing, though, because it can easily nuke your XP unzipper. Best to install the part that just unzips rar files, rather than unzipping everything. I found that out the hard way. Would have been nice if someone had warned me in advance.
