Angola Campaign Crashes - GroundFormation.dll

Recommended Posts

I installed this campaign ages ago and started flying again two days ago. This is the second crash I have had now using that campaign and mod set (I have never had SF2 crashes before). Looking at the Windows 10 event viewer, it shows that my application error was due to GroundFormation.DLL in the objects folder. I did a search, but I can't find anything regarding this. Has anyone else ever seen this, or know what in a campaign could cause this?

The Angola terrain contains various bugs, target area wise, referencing missing objects and having sequencing errors. I can't tell if it's the campaigns, because many crashes are sometimes due to the terrain. I plan to fix it in the future, while remaking the heightmap and tiling from scratch.

Thinking about it, the GroundFormation.DLL should have to do with the formation of ground units during air-to-ground missions. Most likely the campaign .ini files reference a wrong/missing GroundObject.

Check every single object on Types.ini inside Terrains folder. They must have their counterparts in terrain folder or Ground Objects one. If not, the game will crash.
