At the moment I’m flying RNAS 1 April ‘16 and the N10’s and 11’s have French markings?

I seem to recall that the RNAS, and some RFC squadrons used the French cockades early in the war, maybe as far in as early 1916, so it isn't incorrect. you will also see RNAS roundels that are just a red circle, with a white centre, but I have a feeling that they were for home defence squadrons. So I am unsure if they were used in France at all.

This has come up several times over time.  They are correct,  they had French roundels.  Good history init?
