  1. Australia forest fires

Look at that stat for 2067 ... 100-300 increased days of extreme fire danger. That's almost an entire early cycle. If we don't clean up the oceans and get this carbon back in the ground we're in for a Vegemite valley root from mother nature herself.
  2. Australia forest fires

No need to differ with me. I was asking a question because I wanted to know what blame was getting shifted and to whom. I wasn't making a statement because I've got no knowledge to base one on. Seems like a few people sucking off the people's tit got caught sleeping on the job and if the PM can't own his part and take responsibility for it then he's a worthless wanker anyway and needs to go.

I understood what you said. The use of the dot dot dot stands to say that I interrupted your thought and you had more to say on the subject. Everyone can read clearly what you said they only need to scroll up and read it. I in no way was trying to misrepresent anything. I did however want to squash the notion that we are helpless and nip it in the bud. That was my reason for dot dot dotting your earlier reply.
  4. Australia forest fires

Global warming is not inevitable as in the future, it is here today in the here and now. We aren't helpless, that's what the climate deniers want everyone to be. They keep people uninformed, misinformed, paralyzed in dilemma, and ultimately helpless; all so they can continue to make money off of dirty carbon polluting energy. There will come a day when we as humans will understand that survival of our species depends on change. When this all comes close enough to home that it affects our daughters and sons, we'll be wind farming fools almost overnight. Humans are the only species so selfish and depraved to not comprehend a threat until it's cutting off their oxygen and staring them in the face. I pray for us all.

Let's be clear. The PM is not to blame for the fire, the emergency funding that could have lessened the damage, poor management, or going on holiday? Afforestation is the planting of new trees that were not harvested or lost. California is reforesting and will be for hundreds of years before it can ever think of afforestation. California is a good example how fires jump fire breaks often as if they're non-existent. The only real way to help prevent forest fires is to remove the fuel in a continuous cycle of controlled burns before the fuel is ignited by weather or accidentally. I don't see what was said as a personal attack so much that it was an attack of the policy. I can see how you might feel personally attacked but I'm almost certain it wasn't meant that way. I'll differ to the author for further clarification.
  6. Australia forest fires

This was one of the more impactful photos I've seen over the past few days. It is solemn and quiet with a still action background giving way to the soft flutter of the proud Australian Flag. Says it all without saying a word. Thought I'd share. I feel for you Aussies because this wasn't only avoidable in the mass scale like it is today but everyone knew the fire load was high months in advance and did nothing. Our lovely politicians once told the residents of a certain state they needed to go out in the forest and rake up the dead brush and leaves to prevent the fires. Keep in mind 80% of that forest is National Forest belonging to the Federal Government. It's total absurdity in all forms. Climate change has a name, it is real, it is here today, and it is making a devastating impact already. Imagine when our blue ball get another degree or two hotter and we can't sustain the food supply. Shits about to get real folks.
  7. Australia forest fires

I've been looking at photos and videos all day and it's heartbreaking to see the wildlife being impacted and the devastation to the vegetation. Sadly we also know what comes after the fires burn out, rain. Rain that causes flooding and land slides so this isn't over not by a long shot. Those Aussies are a hardy bunch but I pray for each and every one of them. This is going to impact people directly and indirectly for years to come.
  8. My 2020 wish for each of you; May you and your families be healthy and prosperous in the new year. May we all have the wisdom and fortitude to be the change our world needs to end suffering and combat pollution in all forms. May we all open our hearts and minds to treat one another with the love, respect, and kindness we all deserve. May we all find a 20 year old bottle of Scotch we tucked away and some great friends to share it with. Happy New Year!
  9. State sponsored propaganda by Winnie the Pooh. I think we're happy he thinks the game is still really expensive floating hardware. Service Announcement. We reserve the right to move political content of any nature to our Political Forum.
  10. Stary in Krakow

Looks like you both had fun ... but who bought the beers?
  11. Helicopter...how can people say not .

There was another BS post on here about the same incident from a different perspective. It looks like a rotor craft then and it still looks like one. The mass hysteria thing that's going on like a pack of dodo birds is getting out of hand. People see things with their own eyes and convince themselves it's something entirely different. Nothing is immune from the Branch Dividian belief system. It's a helo with FAA approved avoidance lights. Next.
  12. Santa's Hangar

I think Santa swapped out the standard 72.5 inch diameter prop with a toy version. He's probably flying on magic Christmas Dust anyway, what was I thinking anyway.
  13. Cutting Board Computer

Only thing I would say is the case ground is missing which grounds all the components back to through A/C adapter lead. Just be careful not to give it a static electric shock. For test purposes though it's keen and I'm sure the wife won't miss the cutting board especially if she's like my wife. My wife can burn instant oatmeal, cutting boards are foreign objects to her. Bless her heart.
  14. This is just a re-statement of everything that's been said. In fact I can't find anywhere that someone said the Laioning was acquired from Russia. We just discussed this in another post entirely and my statement above said the design for the engines and turbines was from the Soviet Union since the Soviet Union designed the vessel and commissioned Ukraine to build it. Just because Ukraine built it doesn't mean it wasn't supposed to be under the Soviet Union's control and it was until 10 years after the collapse of the Soviet Union when the Ukrainian ship yard was forced to sell her as scrap. The conditions of that sale were governed by the now newly formed Russia. The same type of purchase happened in Australia where they sold the HMAS Melbourne as scrap to the Chinese but it was instead dissected for the usable components that were still on board.
  15. Shandong is Laioning's almost twin sister. Granted she can carry 8 more aircraft with a bigger displacement and more fuel on board. Her deck is 10% bigger and the super structure is noticeably smaller. Her radar systems are said to be of notable improvement giving her more situational awareness. The true test of the Laioning will be under pressure in high movements of launch and recovery. The Laioning's biggest draw back is her inability to carry latest generation fighters.
  16. The Shandong is powered by oil fired boilers spinning eight steam turbines all copied from the Liaoning which are Soviet designs. Dispite Russia's insistence that the engines were removed it's apparent then and now they were not, no surprise. Her launch and recovery systems, acquired from the HMAS Melbourne, will put significant stresses on the Shandong's fixed wing aircraft. Let's hope they beefed up those acquired aircraft designs. I congratulate the PLAN/CNS for graduating to first commission first class problems but her launch now in their economy is a huge strain. Strong money says they should be dialing back their carrier program to a more maintainable expense but I doubt they will. I instead venture they'll raise taxes on the already over taxed population of China. All that aside the Shandong's 70,000 tonne displacement along with her carrier group will be able to make her presence known in any part of the World they wish to project into. After all the USN does like to have targets should our relations devolve that far.

  19. This is a Fekkin helicopter

There's something in the water in LV and this guy is a wack job. I've seen nav lights all my life and those are nav lights from a rotor wing aircraft. You only have to ask yourself one question, why would an alien craft have high visibility FLASHING navigation lights in our green, white, red configuration? Maybe they just want to blend in with the other aircraft in our skies? What a fekkin idiot. Look at that there's a ball on top of his body and I don't think anything is hanging on to it! Holy whiskers batman we've been fished like a cat.
  20. Top Gun 2 Trailer 2

Hans Zimmer worked on the music score, a man that can suck every emotion out of a scene with every note. The movie might be 'ehhh but go for the music being put to screen, it's sure to be a hit.
  21. Problem is with all that money and western support only a dozen or so people benefit while the rest of Turkey lives in horrible conditions both physically and brought on by the state's need to glass dome its borders. [Thunberg ON] It's sickening when you understand how many countries are forced to live in conditions similar to Turkey. We all yearn to be free, no nation thinks differently. [Thunberg OFF]
  22. The Chinese bought HMAS Melbourne back in '85 for $1.4M under the guise of scrapping her and then instead studied her to advance their naval program. The Aussies removed all the electronics and weapons but unfortunately left the arresting gear, catapult and part of the landing system. Chin up sparky you gave it your best bloody shot mate, can't always be winners now can we? Sometimes the only vision with absolute clarity is hindsight.
  23. Yep yep ... bunch of blustering from the Turks. They tried to play both ends against the middle and they lost now they want to take their toys and go home. Childish. Even worse is our administration allowing this to happen and not having any more forethought than, "what can I do for me today?" I'm disgusted by politicians everywhere. The only people who suffer are the citizens.
