  1. Curbing the Taliban push?

The Allies should have never been involved in an Afghan Civil War that the Afghanies and Afghan government will not fight themselves. I’m relieved the bandaid is finally ripped off, there are bigger threats out there than 20 year old threats. All our nations can finally stop looking our children in the eye as each new generation deploys there. My biggest and most humble thank you to every man and woman that has put on a military uniform.
  2. Curbing the Taliban push?

The Taliban were started by Pakistan back in the 2000s, after doing a marketing research campaign on the general public. We went into Afghanistan after Al-Qaeda but the Taliban were in charge then and they are now. Pakistan is back to their old tricks of wanting Afghanistan through proxy. Not sure we'll ever do anything there with Pakistan next door. The allies forces dropped a shit ton of money into an endless pit. I think finally getting out there just had to be done. The departure was always going to be shit show.

Some reading 1) President Trump signing an agreement with the Taliban and now the GOP trying to flip the narrative. https://www.newsweek.com/gop-removes-webpage-praising-trumps-historic-peace-deal-taliban-1619605 2) Some valid criticism of the Biden Administration. https://www.brookings.edu/blog/order-from-chaos/2021/06/07/what-the-biden-administrations-narrative-on-afghanistan-gets-wrong/ 3) The 30,000 domestic troops had frontlines that were being starved of ammunition and rations by the Afghanistan leadership. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/08/13/world/asia/afghanistan-rapid-military-collapse.html Click to read full page

Those people will never complain about coach seating ever again.
  5. Forum Etiquette

When posting to our forum please: Check if anyone has already asked the question you have and received a reply. Just as you wouldn’t repeat a topic of discussion right after it happened in real life, don’t do that in discussion boards either. Stay on topic – Don’t post irrelevant links, comments, thoughts, or pictures. Don’t type in ALL CAPS! If you do, it will look like you’re screaming. Don’t write anything that sounds angry or sarcastic, even as a joke, because without hearing your tone of voice, other community members might not realize you’re joking. Always remember to say “Please” and “Thank you” when soliciting help from others. Respect the opinions of others. If you feel the need to disagree, do so respectfully and acknowledge the valid points of the other's argument. Acknowledge that others are entitled to have their own perspective on the issue. If you reply to a question, make sure your answer is accurate. If you ask a question and many people respond, summarize all answers, and post that summary to benefit your whole community. Be brief. If you draft a long dissertation in response to a simple question, it’s unlikely that anyone will spend the time to read it all. Don’t badmouth others or call them stupid. You may disagree with their ideas, but don’t mock the person. If you refer to something someone has said earlier in the discussion, quote just a few key lines from their post so that others won't have to go back and figure out which post you’re referring to. Before asking a question, check the FAQs or search the internet to see if the answer is obvious or easy to find. Check the most recent comments before you reply to an older comment, since the issue might have already been resolved or opinions may have changed. Be forgiving. If someone makes a mistake, don’t badger them for it. Just let it go – it happens to the best of us. Run a spelling and grammar check before posting anything to the discussion board. It only takes a minute and can make the difference between sounding like a fool and sounding knowledgeable. Don't PM someone asking for help with questions that should be asked on our forums. RULE OF THUMB: If you wouldn’t do or say something in real life, don’t do it online either.

There's a difference between a language barrier and being rude in any language.
  7. Searching the forum can help you, as a lot of questions have been asked and answered. Here's a post that may be what you're looking for.
  8. In 2006 I watched Snort land his F86 gear-up at the Tucson Air Show. Earlier that day I had met him in the crowd and didn't know who he was. His passing is a loss in the community. If you haven't seen "Tomcat Tales" you should watch it. S!
  9. The Corona Virus Thread

Variants occur where there are enough infectable people to culture the new strain. Our only hope is to reduce the number of non-vaccinated hosts as rapidly as possible. https://ourworldindata.org/covid-vaccinations

  11. WKCU now concludes our broadcast day

<sports_commentary_voice> Wrench's sign off used the sonnet "High Flight" written by John Magee a poet and aviator of the Royal Canadian Air Force while stationed at RAF Llandow in 1941, he died a short 3 months later in a mid-air collision over Lincolnshire. Ronald Reagan's writer, Peggy Noonan, at the time of the NASA Challenger accident used this sonnet incorrectly but it still became one of President Reagan's most notable addresses. </sports_commentary_voice>
  12. Just saying Hi!

Wow, great to see you. I enjoy seeing the early members no matter what they're doing in life. Storm was the 204th member to CA back in 2002.
  13. Razbam A6-A cockpit

The Razbam A6-A cockpit is payware. If it is no longer available from Razbam you'll have to contact them.
  14. The flight was last night 6/11/2021. The passenger didn't know that physically opening the door of a passenger jet is impossible until the inside and outside air pressure reach equilibrium. We ignore mental health as a society at our own peril.
  15. Most systems these days allow for multiple solid state drives. Getting a 1TB drive just for SF is the easiest way to store and move all that data. You should be able to store the program files on that drive as well so moving everything in the future would be a plug, install, play, 5 minutes tops routine. I would think this is the best performance as well since you're not moving data across a USB bus or getting bottle necked with Read Write buffering on traditional HDDs. I swear by SSDs especially now that the larger size formats are coming down in price. I think I gave just over $200 USD for an Intel 1.2TB enterprise server drive about a month ago on Amazon which could be used in a home system with sequential reads/writes over 550 MB/s. You can get consumer drives without the high throughput for about half that money or $100 USD.
  16. I saw a clip of this earlier, but I'm glad we're finally going to act like adults and stop ignoring what's so obvious. It's time to rise above being zoo animals in a glass bowl that aliens come study.
  17. The file server scans everything that is uploaded to protect downloaders. The heuristic match shows nothing about a windows command prompt being called, it specifically calls this infection a trojan payload. We've scanned thousands upon thousands of executable files that call cmd.exe to distribute files with no issue. Not sure why yours would be any different.
  18. @jara27 The file was infected with malware and has been removed. Please scan your system you may have been infected and the trojan is attaching itself to everything you distribute trying to infect other machines. If you downloaded this executable please download, install, then scan with MalwareBytes Antivirus to remove the infection. Free antivirus can be found here: https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download/
  19. Feel free to upload your files here: https://combatace.com/files/category/350-wings-over-flanders-fields-by-obd-software/ It's free and it's easier than trying to find files in a multitude of posts with links in them.
  20. China Space Station

I'm horrible for saying "shrimp fried rice" with an oriental accent in my head while reading that. I suppose it's left over from last night where the waitress asked me if I wanted supe'r salad and I said, "no thank you, I don't want to fill up on vegetables." She looked very confused as she turned to walk away. I possibly was heckled for that interaction the rest of the night. Less talking more rice wine, please.
  21. I miss the daily updates and reading the DID reports, wondering if they're coming back?
  22. Renewal Approval

Hello, Sorry this slipped through my morning routine. You should be good to go. Thank you.
  23. Anybody want to make a new logo for the top of the WOFF forums. I put something together a couple months ago and as you can tell I didn't spend much time on it. Anyway, I've been looking at for the past couple months and I think it needs to be better. If you don't know what I'm talking about it's the image at the top of this page that says OBD Software and WINGS OVER FLANDERS FIELDS. I know there's some talented folks out there so how about it? E
