  1. New Forum Software Announcement

Once the process of switching over has started I'll update this post and I'll update it again at the finish. That way you'll know when not to be uploading files.
  2. Hang tight ... I had to make a decision about going in and changing our current skins or put my efforts into something different. Coming soon to a screen near you. I haven't forgotten it's been on my "To-Do" list so long it has coffee stains on it. E
  3. Well I wish I could tell you all it was some kind of huge drama but it wasn't. I've been prepping our equipment for a new release of forum software. Most of that includes upgrading services and some behind the scenes wheels and cogs that makes everything here work. The reality is that we never officially went down. The root domain http://www.combatace.com always worked but once you ventured past that to a dynamically named portion of the site like http://forum.combatace.com the page not found error was occurring. Dave alerted me at 7:04 AM my time there was a problem. Finding the problem took about 4 minutes once I was able to get to a machine I could work from. Fixing the problem took about an hour to rebuild bind (DNS Daemon) and resync the database. Officially named portions of the site came back online at about 3:10 PM my time. Total loss of connected and dynamically named portions of the site, 8 hours. All of that because I typo'ed (dropped the "e" from combatace) while compiling. Feel free to take me out back to the wood pile. I probably deserve it. E
  4. BHAH torrent!

Getting back to the torrent issue. Consider corrupting the torrent.
  5. I don't want to derail this thread but ... Talk about over clocking ... there's clocks all over the place in that photo. Carry on gentlemen ... sorry to interject my humor in a serious thread. OVS feel free to delete this if it gets in the way. Just me E
  6. A little reminder

Shedward's words are always good practice. Thank you for those. The thread was removed because as a community it served no greater good. When a discussion can't be salvaged fairly it's often best to just pull it. It's not something that anyone enjoys doing but it's a healthier solution than the alternative. Please don't let this stifle your passion and hobby, it's just a common side affect of a large vibrant community like ours. On behalf of all us who sit on the firing line. Thank you for the concern and understanding you've shown. Erik
  7. You just found the first bug and here I thought I had it all under control. PROBLEM: Existing members with a subscription can't add an additional subscription. (Example: A premier member can't be both a premier and overkill subscriber at the same time.) FIX: Unknown until I have time to look at this in more depth. WORK AROUND: As kludgy as this is members facing this problem will have to create a new username / password on the forums and use that new account combination to purchase the overkill product. Sorry Diego ... I thought I thought of everything. Erik
  8. I PM'ed him earlier. He'll fix the file at his earliest convenience.

  11. Keep an eye on the overkill forum section for news and announcements about this. The price was intentional so I could get everything into place. E
  12. File Name: White Mountains, Arizona FSX Scenery Pack File Submitter: Erik File Submitted: 30 Jun 2009 File Category: FSX Scenery File Date: 01/12/09 This file created by Kevin Burns uploaded with permission. http://www.kb-sim.com/downloads.html This scenery covers 1200 square miles around Show Low, Snowflake, Taylor and Pinetop. It includes KSOW (Show Low), KTLY (Taylor) and 21AZ (White Mountain Lake) airports. Screenshots can be found here. This is a new scenery that was suggested by someone who lives in the area. Since I already had a trip planned to a campground in Show Low, the scenery sounded like a good idea. The photo scenery is roughly 35 miles x 35 miles, covering the area from Snowflake to Pinetop. It is based on the USGS 2005 Arizona orthoimagery. The scenery features FSX water, night lighting, a blend mask around the perimeter and extensive autogen. It is a work in process and a long way from completion at this point. The AFCAD at KSOW (Show Low Regional Airport) is near completion, but the buildings are not in place yet. File Name: Truth or Consequences, New Mexico FS9 Scenery Pack File Submitter: Erik File Submitted: 29 Jun 2009 File Category: FS Scenery File Date: 06/29/09 This file created by Kevin Burns uploaded with permission. http://www.kb-sim.com/downloads.html Truth or Consequences is located roughly halfway between El Paso and Albuquerque. The photo scenery covers 1100 square miles. The airport (KTCS) is located about five miles north of town. The FS9 version includes summer day textures. A batch file (duplicate_textures.bat) in the texture sub-directory is included to copy the textures for the other seasons. This reduces the zip file size. FS9 treats night textures as a season. Seasons need to be supported in order to have night textures. Click here to download this file

  21. Aaron it's not the site potentially but the machine or machines that are probably unpatched or not updated that have security vulnerabilities. If you take a look at your ASN (hosting provider) the issue is more serious than just pilotspub.org. I'd suggest you seriously look into some pretty quick answers or find a new home to host the site. Take a look at this link :: http://safebrowsing.clients.google.com/saf...p;site=AS:15244 :: If I can be of any help let me know.
  22. You got that warning advisory from Google. The reason is because one of the images that shows in that thread is hosted on the pilotspub.org site. It's actually in Aaron's signature. http://www.pilots **edited** pub.org/SpectreStuff/Spectre_USA-9G.jpg What Google was doing was telling (warning) you that there was a link to a potentially harmful site as determined by Google. Here is the report from Google about the PilotsPub Site. http://safebrowsing.clients.google.com/saf...ctre_USA-9G.jpg It's no big deal as long as you don't go to PilotsPub and download the same stuff that Google says is there. Someone at PilotsPub should take a peek at why this is being reported, but as Dave said there's not much we can do about it except ask Aaron to upload his signature image here and not hot-link it.
  23. It's an inline style sheet issue to be exact. Are you mostly concerned about the links in various posts or elsewhere on the forums?
  24. Reply to my message and we'll see. Thanks. Erik
