  4. forum uploader

http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?app=core&module=usercp&hl=true Check your settings there under "posting". You should be able to choose which text editor you use and uploader. Toggle between them until you're able to upload. For the most part both the upgrades to the text editor feature and the uploader should be supported by most current browsers.

  11. New Forum Software Announcement

    There's much more to come.
  12. New Forum Software Announcement

Current status update: The boards have been returned to normal operational status while I complete the finishing edits and changes to bring us up to our current release. There are services that are still affected and not online yet. Will update this post shortly with more details.
  13. New Forum Software Announcement

The site and services will be affected this morning from 7:00 AM PDT / 10:00 AM EDT on. Please check this thread for further information when it becomes available.
  14. New Forum Software Announcement

Backups will be starting tonight at 11:00 pm. I won't get around to actually putting up the new stuff until the morning. Expected time to complete a full backup looks to be about 5.3 hours. Thanks and we'll see you tomorrow.
  15. New Forum Software Announcement

Here's the game plan as I know it as of today. Tomorrow night I'll import the new code base for the boards only. This will start after 11:00 PM PDT / 2:00 EDT. The forum boards (forum.combatace.com) will be offline for about 30 minutes until I can get the database up and running. The main site (combatace.com) may also go down during this period. I'll make all the changes to the forums to get us a stable and working platform from which to branch off of. The main site may turn into a static page with links until the changes there can be put into place. My focus will be on returning the forums. When the forums initially come online the add-on features (gallery, download section, etc) will not work and I'll only be allowing the use of the main forum skin. The other skins that Fates has been working on (THANKS and shout out!) so diligently won't be added until after I can confirm that all the site cache's and member settings have been properly restored and put into place. This means for those of you used to seeing the "OFF" Branded skin set or your selected skin they will not work but instead you'll see the default forum skin. Once the configurations and forum base are completed I'll start adding the features and user perks. Some of these may not happen until Saturday morning depending on my ability to remain alert. My preference for obvious reasons is to do this once and do it right. As each new feature comes on board it will need modifications and setup so please be patient while I get all this into place. Please don't panic if you see errors but if they persist please alert me to them. The last update will be the main site page(s). These may not function until Sunday and may not be completed until later next week but I will make sure that the functionality will remain as this is our root domain name and it needs to work. As things progress I'll update this announcement as to what you should expect to be working or not as well as the features that have resumed normal operation. Please check here first for the latest updates and progress.
  16. New Forum Software Announcement

Once the process of switching over has started I'll update this post and I'll update it again at the finish. That way you'll know when not to be uploading files.
  17. Hang tight ... I had to make a decision about going in and changing our current skins or put my efforts into something different. Coming soon to a screen near you. I haven't forgotten it's been on my "To-Do" list so long it has coffee stains on it. E
  18. Well I wish I could tell you all it was some kind of huge drama but it wasn't. I've been prepping our equipment for a new release of forum software. Most of that includes upgrading services and some behind the scenes wheels and cogs that makes everything here work. The reality is that we never officially went down. The root domain http://www.combatace.com always worked but once you ventured past that to a dynamically named portion of the site like http://forum.combatace.com the page not found error was occurring. Dave alerted me at 7:04 AM my time there was a problem. Finding the problem took about 4 minutes once I was able to get to a machine I could work from. Fixing the problem took about an hour to rebuild bind (DNS Daemon) and resync the database. Officially named portions of the site came back online at about 3:10 PM my time. Total loss of connected and dynamically named portions of the site, 8 hours. All of that because I typo'ed (dropped the "e" from combatace) while compiling. Feel free to take me out back to the wood pile. I probably deserve it. E
  19. BHAH torrent!

Getting back to the torrent issue. Consider corrupting the torrent.
  20. I don't want to derail this thread but ... Talk about over clocking ... there's clocks all over the place in that photo. Carry on gentlemen ... sorry to interject my humor in a serious thread. OVS feel free to delete this if it gets in the way. Just me E
  21. A little reminder

Shedward's words are always good practice. Thank you for those. The thread was removed because as a community it served no greater good. When a discussion can't be salvaged fairly it's often best to just pull it. It's not something that anyone enjoys doing but it's a healthier solution than the alternative. Please don't let this stifle your passion and hobby, it's just a common side affect of a large vibrant community like ours. On behalf of all us who sit on the firing line. Thank you for the concern and understanding you've shown. Erik
  22. You just found the first bug and here I thought I had it all under control. PROBLEM: Existing members with a subscription can't add an additional subscription. (Example: A premier member can't be both a premier and overkill subscriber at the same time.) FIX: Unknown until I have time to look at this in more depth. WORK AROUND: As kludgy as this is members facing this problem will have to create a new username / password on the forums and use that new account combination to purchase the overkill product. Sorry Diego ... I thought I thought of everything. Erik
  23. I PM'ed him earlier. He'll fix the file at his earliest convenience.
  24. File Name: Tucson, Arizona FS9 Scenery Pack File Submitter: Erik File Submitted: 1 Jul 2009 File Category: FS Scenery File Date: 6/16/09 This file created by Kevin Burns uploaded with permission. http://www.kb-sim.com/downloads.html If you have an earlier version, delete it and install this one. The zip file contains the full package as of 6/16/09. Install by extracting TucsonPhotoFSX or TucsonPhotoFS9 directory to your hard drive. Start Flight Simulator and add the new TucsonPhoto directory to the scenery library. Tucson/Pima County Key Plan Tucson screen shots (FSX version) Tucson screen shots (FS9 version) The FSX version of the scenery is roughly 5500 square miles covering most of Pima County. The base ground textures are done at 2m/pixel. The airports use 1m/pixel ground textures. The FS9 version uses standard resolution and is slightly smaller. Both sceneries include lots of autogen, with night lighting and water. The FS9 version includes only summer textures in the zip file. In the texture directory is a batch file (duplicate_textures.bat) to copy the summer textures to the other seasons.
