  1. Happy birthday to ya!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALL
  2. Could be an intentional design feature. Hopefully someone can answer this for you.
  3. Ok ... getting back to why the uploads aren't working. What did you do Fubar to get the system to upload? Were you possibly trying to use a character in the filename that wasn't permitted? There really shouldn't be any reason that any registered user can't upload to the system. More specific information other than "upload failed" would be greatly appreciated. Erik
  4. Well if CombatACE has upload problems we need to get them sorted out. So if we can work together to figure out what's wrong I'll be happy to fix it. I've never had any problems uploading to the site, but then again I've got a pretty good internet connection. Let's list the problems we've encountered here. Thanks for the help. Erik
  5. What is this?

The USAF tests their weapon systems and platforms for operational standards and design specs as C5 mentioned using this type of spray nozzle which is part of a PAWSS - Palletized Airborne Water Spray System. They can atomize water by sending bleed air cooled by ram air through the nozzle which mixes with the water for different conditions in simulated testing for ice, rain, and clouds. MIL-STD-210B details the specs for climate extremes and I believe 810C details the test methods if you're interested.
  6. Prepare to be amazed

I don't know about you but this is amaZing!
  7. Who said Royal Marines aren't ballsy?

Good looking out using his pack as a shield. Damn straight he deserves a few pints on someone.
  8. It's probably because not many are familiar with what you're talking about. You might try looking here: http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&amp...amp;m=614108144
  9. How do you post Pics?

Use the attachment system below the editor (where you type). Upload an image, then click the plus sign next to the image when it's uploaded to add it into a post (post = thread). You can also use the gallery see link on top menu bar above and post your images there, then link to them in posts (post = thread) by using the add image icon above the editor (where you type). The PM system and Forum system use the same editor so they work exactly the same.
  10. How do you post Pics?

Use the attachment system below the editor (where you type). Upload an image, then click the plus sign next to the image when it's uploaded to add it into a post. You can also use the gallery see link on top menu bar above and post your images there, then simply link to them in posts by using the add image icon above the editor (where you type). Hope that helps. Erik
  11. Computer support is difficult because there are so many possibilities. DirectX is a core component of Windows and part of the Kernel, it's why I hate to offer advise... but When you run DirectX Setup, it looks for a newer version of DirectX. If a newer version appears to be installed on your computer, DirectX Setup displays the message "Setup was completed" and then does not install a copy of DirectX. If this happens, you can only install a version of DirectX that is newer than the one that appears to be installed. You can use dxdiag to check the current version installed on your computer. To verify that all DirectX files are installed Click Start, and then click Run. In the Open box, type: dxdiag Click OK. Click the DirectX Files tab, and then look in the Notes box. If all DirectX files are present and undamaged, the Notes box reports "No problems found". If the diagnostic tool reports that any files are missing or damaged, reinstall DirectX from your Windows CD or install the latest version of DirectX from Windows Update. To go to the Windows Update Web site, click Start, point to All Programs, and then click Windows Update. Can you install the latest version of DirectX? Now if you still have problems you can download an offline distro from microsoft here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/thankyo...displayLang=en# If you still have problems and DirectX is still reporting that "No problems found" in the notes box, then I might try reloading the OS. ** This information is user beware, I offer no support for crashing your OS. Always create a restore point before attempting any changes **
  12. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;DisplayLang=en You've tried the above link and downloaded a new version of DX9.0c and installed it?
  13. What the?

This has officially been upgraded to a "feature" not a "bug". I'll have a peek at the logs and see what's up.
  14. Well since you twisted my arm the max number of images per post has been increased. Have fun!
  15. Install trouble

If the zip file won't open that's the problem, not the properties of the installer. I'd start figuring out why the zip isn't opening, if it's just that zip file meaning it's corrupt or your software settings are fubar for windows. What kind of error does the zip file give you when you try to open it? Is this a CD or downloaded installer?
  16. Install trouble

Eh ... the installer is telling you that: C:/Archivos de programa/Lead Pursuit/Battlefield Operations/terrdata/Korea/texture/texture.zip "texture.zip" is not a readable file on your system or has permission issues as the installer is attempting to read or unpack it. The zip file might be corrupt or you have removed the ability for a windows based installer to open zip files (compressed files). I've seen this before when file associations have been messed up either by installing other software for compressed files or security software won't allow .zip files to be installed on the computer. You can also check the properties of the installer itself by right clicking it and make sure the check box for "allowed file" or "harmful file" is unchecked. Just some off the cuff weirdisms. Good luck.
  17. I'm not sure I'm following you but ... When a file is added to the system a new topic is posted in the file announcement area for the type of file. When a file is updated in the system I don't believe the file announcement gets an update or is moved back to the top of the announcement stack if that's what you mean. It does show the last time the file is updated on the file itself. The announcment is automated we don't have to do anything for that. For an update what a modder can do is click the link in the file that takes them to discussion and then just post that you've made an update to the file which will then move the thread back to the top of the announcement area. I think that's what you're looking for, but it would have to be done manually. Dave you got any other ideas? I'm going to feel stupid if the announcement thread moves to the top on an update but I don't think so. I also remember when Brandon over at Invision was working on the last BETA there was something about this and I think he opted out of the announcement update for some reason, but I'll have to dig back through the BETA notes on that. Erik
  18. problem to add file

http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?act=U...amp;CODE=attach Click on the link above. It will take you to your attachment manager. If you have a bunch of old attachments (start with the oldest ones first) you can remove them from the system to clean up space. Let me know if you have any questions. Erik
  19. What the?

ewww ... the mail service was having a bad day, restarted, things should return to normal.
  20. Fair Thee Well

Explains why "Dungeons and Dragons" was the number 3 search string on Yahoo today.
  21. About Downloading files

We don't allow download managers because they require all downloads to be in the public domain. Public files especially large ones lead to file leaching which is a very costly problem inherent to the Internet. Sorry, but hope that helps.
