F-15P Argentinian Eagle: When Argentina bought the F-15 in 1996 (s/o Spinners), officials quickly realized that they would need a plane to replace or complement it, since the F-15A by itself would become obsolete, so in the year 2010, the government placed an order for 12 F-15Es, denominated F-15Ps by Boeing, honoring the A-4P bought in the 60s. The plane participated in Operation Marathon, shooting down more than 15 Iranian planes and destroying more than 20 ground based objectives. -

The F/A-18EA Argentinian Hornet is a special F/A-18E variant operational in the Argentinian Air Force. The plane was acquired in early 2010, along with missiles and precision guided munitions. Several modifications, realized by INVAP and FADeA ended up with the creation of the EA variant, wich is capable of firing French SBUs and Exocets. Releasing soon. -

BACKSTORY: In 2014, with the Mirage retirement in mind, Argentina started a competition to decide wich plane was going to replace it in the near future. Due to the strategic position of the country and the abundance of resources, the contest ended up having various options: the F/A-18E/F, the Tejas MK1 and MK2, the Gripen, the Su-30, the MiG-35, the J-10CE and the Rafale, all with unique variants to fill the needs of the Argentinian Air Force. The chosen plane was the Rafale. The Argentinian Ministry of Defence agreed on 18 planes, 12 Rafale EA-2s and 4 Rafale DAs. The Rafale EA-2 is an advanced variant of the Rafale F4, equipped with AESA radar and Conformal Fuel Tanks. It can fire the MBDA MICA missiles, along with some russian ordenance. This is because Dassault, Argentina and Russia agreed to replace the british parts with russian parts in the exchange of Argentina buying and equipping the Rafale with russian precise guided munitions. The Argentinian Rafale participated in various exercises with NATO and eastern side countries, like the "ECOAS I", where the Argentinian pilots showed its great ability to fly low, "sinking" the USS George Bush. Special thanks to JAT81500, for releasing the Dassault Rafale F4, wich is used as the Dassault Rafale EA-2 And ThirdWire, for this amazing sim, that I love and play almost everyday... I hope you enjoy this mod as much as I do. Have a good flight! Good hunting! -

Chengdu J-10A-AR "Ehécatl" This model is a approximation of how a Chengdu J-10 might look if it was in service with the Argentinian Air Force, being part of the 6to Grupo de Caza y Ataque, belonging to the VI Brigada Aérea. As many of you might know, Argentina is planning to modernize its air force, and one of the jets that has been considered is the J-10, coming along with the JF-17, the MiG-35 and the MiG-29 (I should work on one of those). The model, though, is not accurate. The offer made by China considers the J-10CE, an export version of the J-10C. This plane can carry Chinese and Russian weapons, and Argentinian Mk-series bombs. The aircraft will appear on the list as "Chengdu J-10A-AR "Ehécatl". The adding of the -AR is just a formality. To install it, you will need to copy and paste the folders in your SF2 mod folder, following basic mod installation proccess. In the folder >>J10AR-Final Version<< you will find 4 folders. These are: Aircraft >> J-10A Decals >> J-10A Flight >> FLIGHTENGINE.INI Weapons >> KometaTankC // KometaTankW Special thanks to: Erwin_Hans and InSky, for the fantastic model they made of the Dragon... Franconinja14, who made the skin for the plane... Stipe, for the MiG-29M3 "Hyper Fulcrum" and its HUD, that I used for this mod... Spinners, for the Kometa and its tanks, wich I use in this mod... Eagle114th, for the screenshots, giving me tips and helping with everything (this guy is a genius)... And ThirdWire, for this amazing sim, that I love and play almost everyday... I hope you enjoy this mod as much as I do. Have a good flight! Good hunting!- 3 comments

Wobblin' Tejas!
1309mariano posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Hey, how are ya'll, I got a problem and I hope someone can solve it: I got Bandidos Team's HAL Tejas mod, but when I started playing, I noticed that the plane starts 'wobbling' (pitching up and down) and becomes almost uncontrollable when near or past Mach 1. Has anyone been able to solve this and how? Thank you in advance...! Mariano -

Dassault Rafale EA-2: The Dassault Rafale EA-2 is an advanced variant of the well known Dassault Rafale, developed for Argentina to replace the Mirage. The Omnirole plane can compplete all types of sorties and has been in service since 2018. It is considered a whole new variant of the Rafale, since all the parts that BAe provided to build it were replaced with russian parts, with some of them being more powerful than its predecessors. It is actually in service with the 6th Fighter and Attack Group, belonging to the 6th Air Brigade. It has participated in the "ECOAS 1", a joint exercise with the US Navy, where the pilots were able to "sink" the USS George Bush, showing an exceptional ability to fly low and engage from long distance. -

Well, I got an SU-30 and 35 and a Gripen and both share the same problem: they do a little turn to one side (in the case of the russian boys, to the right, in the case of the Gripen, to the left). I think it might be a FM problem. Does anybody have the solution for that? Thank you! -

Sukhoi SU-30MKA (Modernizirovannyi Kommercheskiy Argentinskaya) from the 6th Fighter Group, based in Tandil, Buenos Aires, during its presentation tour around the country, visiting the Aconcagua near the border with Chile. The SU-30MKA is considered the most advanced variant of the SU-30, being matched only by the SU-30MKI, with advanced air-to-ground and air-to-air capabilities, it can carry Mk-series bombs and bomb racks, KAB-series GPS/laser guided bombs, Exocet anti-ship missiles and various air-to-ground missiles such as the Kh-29 and Kh-35. It entered service in december, 2021, and 33 airframes have been produced, with 3 more arriving in June, 2022. The MKA is considered the most advanced plane in Latin America, showing an outstanding performance against brasilian Gripens in the Carioca-Gaucho joint exercise. The Argentinian navy has considered acquiring at least 12 of these aircraft to equip the Naval aviation and complement the Super Etendard Modernisé bought in 2019. -

Lockheed/FMA IA-16 "Serpiente"
1309mariano posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
View File Lockheed/FMA IA-16 "Serpiente" Lockheed/FMA IA-16 Serpiente: BACKSTORY: The year is 1998. Argentina starts showing its newly acquired A-4AR Fightinghawk, modernized to replace the old A-4Bs. While this was happening, it was clear that the Mirages had to be retired anywhere in a near future. So, the Fabrica Militar de Aviones, also called FMA, joins Lockheed Martin to develop a multirole, supersonic fighter, to fill the space that the Mirage will no longer cover. The result of this alliance is the IA-16 Serpiente, a multirole, supersonic and highly capable version, developed from the F-16. The Serpiente is very similar to the Japanese F-2, but they have some differences that make them unique: while the F-2 has a boom receptor for air refueling, the Serpiente has a fuel probe, being capable of refueling from the KC-130 owned by the FAA. The avionics and a lot of parts from the plane itself are made in Argentina, and before 2008, the plane could be made in Argentinian soil without importing a single manufactured piece. The first plane flew in 2002, and was introduced in the FAA in the year 2005. The plane is equipped with Python 5 and AMRAAM missiles. It also can be equipped with AIM-9Xs and, due to the open architecture, it can be equipped with MICA and Meteor missiles. In 2007, Argentina recieved a first batch of 24 Serpientes, with 12 going to the 5th Fighter Group and the other 12 to the 6th Fighter Group, and in 2015, with the retirement of the Mirages and Neshers, another 24 IA-16 Serpiente Block 2 were ordered, plus the modernization of the existing ones to the Block 1+ standard, matching the avionics of the upcoming versions. The nacionalization of the whole assembly proccess of the plane has opened the opportunity for exports, being offered to small countries, like Uruguay, Paraguay and El Salvador. These 3 countries allegedly planned to buy 12 units of the Serpiente each one, but pressure from the US (even though the Serpiente is a US derived product) made them decline the offer. The Serpiente has seen service in the FAA for 15 years now, and is expected to surpass 2040. The future of this plane looks bright, with several modifications planned for the next year, like a radar-absorbing painting, to have semi-stealth capabilities (coming probably next update). Special thanks to: Dels, the creator of the F-2. EricJ, who uploaded the F/A-18A and its HUD, which I used for this mod. SandMartin, who helped me to remake the cabin. ValAstur, who inspired me to make this mod, and for the Nachash, the starting point of this. Eagle114th, for the screenshots, which he took while I was isolated, and for taking the time to test everything (he tested absolutely EVERYTHING and helped me correct it) ThirdWire, for this awesome sim. CONTENTS: Lockheed/FMA IA-16 Serpiente and its decals. Rafael Python 5 and Hughes AIM-120-AR, the missiles of this plane. Fuel tanks. Pilot and refuel probe. NOTES: The cabin is bugged, and we couldn't fix it. We corrected the position of the seat, but some things dissapeared, as far as I know, the LOD of the cabin is bugged. (WHAT IF) THE ARGENTINIAN ZERO: During the 1990s, the F-16 was the predetermined fighter plane for every NATO allied country. Some countries even did its own versions: with the help of Lockheed Martin, Japan developed the Mitsubishi F-2. In the other side of the world though, Argentina was searching for a replacement of its ageing A-4s and Mirages. In the real world, they got the A-4AR Fightinghawk, but since this is a "what if" thread, I have the honor to introduce you to the Lockheed/FMA IA-16 "Serpiente". The Serpiente used the same blueprints as the F-2, but with some modifications on the avionics, and in the intake, to meet the requeriment of a plane capable of mantaining a low altitude flight regime without damaging the engine. Also, the Serpiente could be armed AIM-120 and AIM-9s, along with several multi purpose bombs and AG missiles like the Exocet or Martín Pescador. Painted in a low viz scheme, the Serpiente put Argentina among the top air forces in the world, competing with Japan, France, and the UK. These planes saw an extensive use in the FAA, participating in various drills and exercises along with countries like the UK, France, India and Germany. In 2015, the Mirages were retired, and Argentina made an order for 24 IA-16 Block 2, and upgraded the existing ones to the Block 1++ "Yarará" standard, to match the avionics and radar of the upcoming Block 2. The "Serpiente" is still in service today, with more than 25,000 flight hours in his record. Sorry for the quality, these were made in my laptop... IA-16 from the 6to Grupo de Caza, based in Tandil, Buenos Aires. IA-16 from the 5to Grupo de Caza, based in Villa Reynolds, San Luis. -

Hi everyone, I'm the creator of the J-10A-AR and I'm currently working on some updates for it. The most important one being the addition of missile racks, increasing the number of radar guided missiles up to 6. With this being said, I will also modify the Air to Air and Attack loadouts. The question is, how do I include the racks and the missiles on the loadout.ini file? If someone can help me, I will be very thankful, and the person will be credited in the Read Me of the update Have a good flight! Mariano - Loco01- 3 replies
