Request: A King Kong Mission
ricnunes replied to Bullethead's topic in WOFF UE/PE - File Announcements
AHAHAH, that would be very funny and I would also like see that mission very much! So I'm joining your request! Of course this means that the King Kong itself would need to be modeled! -
When flying OFF my favourite (and basically the only squadron that I play with in OFF) is the RNAS1. Recently I updated my OFF install with superpatch 1.32 + 1.32f hotfix and now I'm having a HUGE problem during my campaign (with RNAS1) in which NO ENEMY PLANES ever appear during the campaign missions!! I even tried to erase my pilots, "restart" OFF files and I even uninstalled OFF and reinstalled again and always with the same results!! Even in SCRAMBLE missions (with RNAS1) NO ENEMY PLANES appear! I played DOZENS of missions with RNAS1 in the campaign and again NO enemy player ever appeared in any mission! I strongly suspect that it's something related to the squadron since I tried (twice I may add) playing with for example the RFC29 squadron and everything is ok (enemies DO appear). Is there anything I can do to solve this?? I'm suspecting that this is somehow a bug introduced by version 1.32 and if this confirms PLEASE FIX THIS - It's my favourite squadron (basically the only one that I play with in OFF). Thanks in advance for replies...

Problem with Balloons in version 1.26+hotfix
ricnunes posted a topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
I have OFF (P3) patched up to version 1.26 plus the Hotfix and everything was looking awesome (I specially liked the improved Damage model) but sudently I found a very annoying bug which wasn't present in previous versions of OFF: - Now the balloons (at least the German ones) aren't either destructable (in a attack railyard mission I happened to decide to attack one balloon without managing to destroy it despite the many bullets that I hit it with) or either in a balloon busting mission after I hit a few bullets in the target balloon I saw it "change" to the destroyed texture/object but it didn't explode or burned like happened in the previous versions of OFF and I also didn't receive the "German Balloon destroyed" messenge like I was suposed to receive (and that I did in the previous versions of OFF) and I also didn't had the chance to fill the claim report regarding the balloon (it was as if I didn't destroy the balloon), again like happened in the previous versions of OFF-P3. Curiously the ballons also don't appear in the "radar" and therefore it's impossible to send wingmen to attack the balloons. Please take a look at this problem since this is a very annoying one (even more annoying since it wasn't present in the older versions of OFF-P3). BTW, is there any "temporary fix" for this problem? Am I the only one experiencing this problem? -

There's already a new patch (version 1.28)! Man, you're fast! -
Problem with Balloons in version 1.26+hotfix
ricnunes replied to ricnunes's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
Yes I understand that it's very difficult to personally check out every single reported issue, but I think this issue is quite easy to confirm (or dismiss) - All people need to do is to fly a balloon busting mission in the campaign (probably the hardest thing here is to "wait" until the player receives a balloon busting mission). But yes, I would like to see others confirming or dismissing this same issue. -
Problem with Balloons in version 1.26+hotfix
ricnunes replied to ricnunes's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
Well I really didn't try the "reset CFS3" because I will loose my pilot after playing which after surviving lots and lots of mission with flying that crappy Airco DH2 and managing to get 15 confirmed kills so far would be an extremelly frustrating thing to happen! Isn't there a way to "reset CFS3" while don't losing the pilot?? Maybe a way to backup the pilot? Again it's very frustrating to lose pilots (after lots of missions) this way. I would also like to know if there are other with the same issue? (Balloons in the campaign - Balloon busting mission) This in order to know if this is really a bug or something lets say "wrong" with my instalation. For example, does this happen to you Polovski? -
Problem with Balloons in version 1.26+hotfix
ricnunes replied to ricnunes's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
I just finished a balloon busting mission in the campaign (RFC-29) where I experienced a similar problem as the one that I previously posted in here where after hitting the balloon several times that balloon "changed" to destroyed balloon object and again without burning or exploding! Also please notice that this "destroyed balloon object" always keep "floating" in the air without ever going towards the ground (like happened in the previous versions). The only diference from this latest experience of mine from the previous one, was that in this last one I did get the "balloon destroyed" messenge (and therefore I was credited with the kill). -
Problem with Balloons in version 1.26+hotfix
ricnunes replied to ricnunes's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
Ok, I was flying in a quick dogfight mission (me flying in a Sopwith Triplane against an Albatroz) and after I shot down the enemy aircraft I decided to take one more look into the balloons (by travelling to the enemy lines) and I noticed that the balloons are now (with version 1.26) much more resistant to machine gun fire than before (or am I wrong?) - I manage to destroy a balloon by making 2 passes and fire lots of bullets (more than 100), so this should explain my first problem (the balloon appearing to be indestructable). But nevertheless there's still the problem where after I hit the (target) balloon with a few bullets I saw it "change" to the destroyed texture/object but it didn't explode or burned like it should. There's a diference here since in this latter situation the balloon was a mission objective ("balloon busting" mission) where in previous cases it wasn't. I will definitly try to play an another "balloon busting" mission in order to see if I can re-create the problem. I just hope to be lucky so that I get one of those missions in the campaign as soon as possible. -

If there were a "Flyable Vulcan bomber" option I would vote for it, but since there isn't I voted "Realistic Gaming"! :)

I agree with SneakyPete, I would prefer to see a clickable cockpit also! Once a player gets to know better a certain aircraft(s) and where the instruments, buttons and handles are it's much easier and realistic (in my oppinion, that is) and even faster to operate the buttons and handles by clicking into them with the mouse than to memorize a combination of more than 100 keys in the keyboard! At least that's what I think from my experience by playing Falcon 4.0 and Jane's F/A-18 that once again in my oppinion are the best modern Jet fighter sims made until now!

In English: The "Aviões de Guerra" (or "Warplanes" in english) is also excelent. It's one of the best magazines about Military aviation that I ever read! It includes several war stories about the Malvinas or Falkland war that are described with an excelent detail such as the Attack and sinking of the Ardent frigate and other situations like the attack on the Sheffield destroyer and a Transport ship (that I forgot its name) with exocet missiles! It also covers almost every situations and stories of that war! The war is covered in several articles that come in several edited issues of that magazine collection!

Vulcan Vulcan Vulcan Vulcan and Vulcan :D and then, Sea Harrier
-
Well, first of all I'm Portuguese and that magazine collection that I have is the Brazilian Edition! :) I didn't know that an English version of that magazine collection even existed!
-
Well I do have an aircraft magazine collection which some of you from the Jet Thunder development team already know that is a Brazilian edition called "Aviões de Guerra" ("Warplanes" in english) that have many articles that cover the entire Falkland Air War and there is no mention to that hypothetical Harrier being shoot down by a Dagger! Else you can check this site also which regads to British aircraft losses: http://www.britains-smallwars.com/Falkland...craftlosses.htm There is no mencion to that Harrier either! The only aircraft that the Argentinians shoot down in Air-to-Air combat was a Scout Helicopter. I saw once in TV documentary about the Falklands, that mencined that the closest that an Argentinian pilot was from shooting down an Harrier was when the Argentinian pilot (forgot his name) was piloting an A-4 (and not a Dagger) when he managed to get behind an Harrier but when he had the Harrier in his cannon sights, his A-4 cannons jammed and then after that a second Sea Harrier placed itself behind the A-4 and shooted it down (I don't recall if it was with cannon or Sidewinder but I think it was with a Sidewinder)! The Argentinian pilot managed to eject and survive and it was him in that TV documentary that told this war story!

I'm looking for a flyable Avro Vulcan Bomber!! Well, It was my favourite Post WWII Heavy Bomber and I'm looking afford to play recreated "Black Buck" missions flown by those bombers during the 1982 Falklands conflict! :)
