  1. Dhimari Hunter FGA. Mark 61 (FGA.9) for SF1

Hawker Hunter FGA.61 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 1
This is a simple mod of the stock Hunter FGA.9 to give a 'what if' Hunter FGA.61 fighter with markings for No.1 and No.3 squadrons of the Dhimari Air Force.
Please note that this mod is optimised for use in 'Wings Over Israel' and it will NOT work in 'Strike Fighters Gold' or 'Wings Over Vietnam' as neither game has the Hunter FGA.9 LOD's. It will work in 'Wings Over Europe' but you will not have the stock Arabic serial numbers appearing.

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the HunterFGA61 folder into your Aircraft folder.
    That's it!

    CREDITS
Thanks to TK for a great little game/sim.
And thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community.
    Regards

  8. Hawker Hunter FGA 9 for SFP1 and WoX

    #INSTALLATION

The setup for this mod is designed to use the Thirdwire first generation folder structure patched
to 10-08 standard, the latest one as per july 2009!

    1) Unzip the "Hunter FGA9" folder to a temporary place where it is easy to find.

    2) Add the data from "Hunter Pylon_Weapondata.txt" to your weapondata.ini and save it with the weapons editor.
This step is mandatory in order to get a visible pylon for the Sidewinder.

    3) Copy the "Hunter_FGA9" folder to your "Aircraft" directory.

    4) In the case that you do not use the community weapons pack 2.52 (available at CombatAce.com, link below),
you may have to add the data from "Weapons\Ordnance_Weapondata.txt" to your weapondata.ini and copy
the needed folders in "Weapons" in your weapon directory.

    #ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This is mainly a INI rework to turn a SFP1 Hunter F6 (also available at CA, link below) in a
Hunter FGA9 ground attack aircraft. It uses some data (namely the Hunter Pylon and a cockpit) of
another Hunter Mod by ndicki (it could also be downloaded at CA, link below).

I did not research a large amount of historical fidelity - it looks like sidewinder pylons were only
mounted on exported and so customised Hunters - like planes of the Rhodesian Airforce.

I've tested the plane on a Strike Fighters Project 1 install patched to Oct.-08 level with the
    community weapons pack 2.52 installed.

    #DOCUMENTATION

    1) The FM and the rest of the aircraft_data.ini comes mainly from the Hunter F6 model. Changes include
the removing of the rocket rails and the adding of the Sidewinder stations.

    2) The loadout.ini is my creation.

    3) The LOD's, hangar, loading and loadout screens are simply renamed versions of the F6 versions.

    #LICENSING INFORMATION

As the used sources are under the
-> CombatAce Freeware License (see link above) <-,
this rework / compilation is licensed as such too, in short: freedom to distribute such licensed work
as long as it does NOT become part of payware or not publicly available.

    #CREDITS

The Hunter F6 was done by:

    - Modelling likely by ArmorDave. Skins by Sundowner, Gramps. Other contributors according to the
readme were Diego, Marcelo without naming their contribution. The upload at CA was done by USAFMTL.

The Rhodesian Hunter was a coproduction too (quote from the ReadMe of it):

    - "Spinners modified the Thirdwire stock Hunter FGA.9 to make it flyable, and fitted the cockpit.
The weapons pylon and rail was made specially by Alex "AleDucat" Ducat.
Modifications to ini files, stock weapons, screens and skin by Nigel "ndicki" Dickinson.
Ideas and support from Josh 'Jeremiah Weed' "

I apologize for any forgotten people in the credits, please notify me in case of any lack of correctness.
That is my first try at a modification and so my first little publication - any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I want to say "Thank you" at Wrench, moderator at CombatAce, for some useful hints. Thanks also for the rest
    of the Thirdwire community!

  9. Hawker Hunter F.6 'Luftwaffe' for SF2:Europe

This is a simple mod of the excellent Third Wire Hunter to give a flyable 'what if' Hawker Hunter F.6 of the West German Air Force with markings for JG71, JG72, JG73 and JG74 for the approximate late 1950's to late 1960's period.

As it uses stock Luftwaffe serial numbers I think you really need the latest SF2:Europe but it should work in SF2 also as the F.6 LODs are in there too but you might not get the serial numbers.

You can swap the skins and decals around to suit - have fun.

  10. De Havilland Vampire FB.7

This is a simple mod of Pasko's superb little Vampire to give a 'what if' De Havilland Vampire FB.7 fighter-bomber with markings for No.6, No.8, and No.20 squadrons of the Royal Air Force during the early to mid 1950's era. Now whilst there wasn't really a Vampire FB.7 all three squadrons really did operate Vampires and the Vampire did eventually get the Rolls Royce Nene most notably in the Australian F.30 version and the further developed French Mistral.

    BACKSTORY

Out of necessity, the wartime designed Gloster Meteor and De Havilland Vampire jet fighters remained in service for far longer than expected.

Whilst Gloster continued to improve the Meteor by producing the Meteor F.8 and gaining further orders for RAF Fighter Command, the De Havilland company offered an improved Vampire interceptor-fighter by squeezing the 5,000lbs thrust Rolls Royce Nene centrifugal engine into the lightweight Vampire frame to produce the superb Vampire F.8 and this delightful fighter saw widespread service with Fighter Command as well as RAF Germany. In addition, the parallel Vampire FB.7 programme produced a useful fighter-bomber that saw service with RAF Germany and RAF Middle East Command and was also exported to the embryonic Dhimari Air Force.

    CREDITS

I've included the original 'Read Me' but I'd like to thank Pasko for this superb add-on aircraft (one of his many), Gramps for the skins and also Don (C5) for the FM. In addition, I've robbed a few of Wrench's 'danger' decals from his 'what if' Vampire F.3 (worth a download).

Anyway, it's just a bit of fun and I hope you enjoy it.

HAWKER HUNTER FGA.9, No.1 Squadron Royal Rhodesian Air Force, Thornhill AFB, Rhodesia, late 1960s

The Hawker Hunter FGA.9 was delivered the (then) Royal Rhodesian Air Force in 1962/3 to replace the DH Vampires then in
service with No.1 Squadron. The aircraft wore a number of different camouflage schemes during its twenty-plus years in
service with the Royal Rhodesian Air Force, the UDI-period Rhodesian Air Force and finally, the post-Independence
    Air Force of Zimbabwe.

Twelve aircraft were delivered, and all are represented in this pack, although three crashed during the 1970s. All twelve are represented here.

The Royal Rhodesian Air Force lasted until the establishment of Rhodesia as a Republic in 1970, when the Lion-and-Tusk roundel
    was introduced.

FIXED VERSION - MISSING PYLON ADDED - APOLOGIES TO ALL CONCERNED!

Rhodesian Air Force Hawker Hunter FGA.9 as modified by the South African Air Force to carry either Sidewinder or V3B "Voorslag" IR missiles. This was carried out at the SAAF's TFDC at Waterkloof in August 1979.

    http://www.ourstory.com/thread.html?t=305460

The main difference between the Rhodesian Hunters and other similarly modified Hunters is the addition of an extra weapons pylon between the two existing ones; most Air Forces simply used the external pylon.

At least two aircraft were modified this way. It is unclear what happened to them after Independence.

Credits go to Spinners for converting the stock FGS.9 to flyable, AleDucat for making the indispensable pylon and rail, and Jeremiah Weed for the idea and support. Thanks!

FREEWARE ONLY WITHIN THE TERMS OF THE COMBATACE AGREEMENT.

THIS IS FOR STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 ONLY AND WILL NOT WORK AS SUCH IN WOX/SF1.

  18. DH Venom Update

This pak updates the existing Venom FB Mk.4 to the latest patch standards. I've adjusted the decal positions, level numbers, and created a full pak of serial numbers. -- this is NOT a new skin; it re-uses the original bmps, just a tweek of the existing one. New damage tgas are also included.

This pak also includes updated data and loadout inis to add the missing drop tanks. All weapons loads are UK nation specific, as per the latest weapons pak. -- you MUST have the latest Weapons Pak installed for use the the weapons listed.

Also included is a mod of Kesselbrut's Spitfire cockpit, as this has a nice 'British' feel to it. Several of the gauges have been relabeled for jet use. Cockpit ini is included. (this cockpit is also used on my WW2 Vampire mod) -note: this pit is NOT 100% historically accurate, but is a 'best fit' for the aircraft. Gunsight mods have been included.

PLEASE -- READ THE ENCLOSED README for full instructions and notes!!!! -- PLEASE!!

Good Hunting & Happy Landings !
