  1. These are Great news guys!

    Keep up Herr Prop-Wasche... :clapping:

Nice piece of alternative history there Dej... :good:

I, in my last Campaign, (in RoF), had flamed Albert Ball during Bloody April '17, (still flying Nieuport),*

to be killed in vain a few missions later, in a collision with a hard manoeuvring Sopwith Tripe, just upon the announcement of my decoration with the "Pour le Merite"... :dntknw:

*No mystery for his death in my alternative history whatsoever.

  2. Hi swampey, I'm too a RoF owner and share the same impression as you...

Great graphics and physics engine but hollow inside... :dntknw:

For the last month or so I found myself lurking here at OFF Forum almost every day and finaly last week, after the encouragment of OFF's GREAT community, :good: ...

I took the plunge myself and ordered P3, even if I was having second thoughts about the delivery by mail in EU.

I'll get the HitR expantion just after the game arrives safely in my hands.

    I hope for the best.

    :drinks:

  3. Javito, about the gunnery, consider that the Camel has it's vickers very close together and your fire is easier concentered to a certain spot.

In the SE5 the guns are firing from different positions and their convergation point must be calculated to achieve better results through concentrated fire...

(But I'm still not flying in OFF so don't take it for granted) :dunno:

  4. I don't really know, actually...

On the back of my DVD box says:

"The original b/w footage was supplied by the Imperial War Museum London..."

I haven't seen it for a long time now and I don't remember clearly. (I got it in 2005).

The version I've got is consisted of 6 epidodes, (6 DVD's).

The Air War is described in the 3rd episode...

The two obvious mistakes that still stand out in my memory were the "red" triplane and British Sidcot pilot overalls colored RAF blue-gray,

(their original color was a khaki drill kind of light brown).

But back then I was not so much into WWI aviation.

As a matter of fact I'm just scraching it's surface. :salute:

    PS: HD long YouTube clip:

  5. I have it too, it was given as a present from a Military History magazine, here in Greece, a few years ago...

The great futage contained is taken from the Imperial War Museum archives.

I prefer watcing it in b/w though. The coloring was not of my taste ...and IMHO not 100% historical.

For instance I remember a scene with MvR mounting on a Dr.1 and taking off, where the Triplane has been colored red when it is obvious that it was bearing the original factory finish.

  6. Actually, I don't think I have any right to speak as I haven't played OFF yet, but...

I agree with both of your suggestions with Javito's one more suited to my own needs-preferances...

I have noticed a great graphical improovment in the P4 screenshots.

The cockpits looks much similar to RoF ones, the environment in general looks fantastic too. :ok:

The one thing I was missing compared to newest sims like WoP, RoF, even FE2 is the dynamic shadows,

casting on the plane itself and in virtual cockpit.

I don't know if such feature is even allowed by the CFS3 engine...but it would be great to have.

(I admit not as a no.1 priority though).

Do we have a clue were P4 is scheduled for release?

  7. Should be, standard scheme of 3 colors camo upper wings, light blue undersides, with a white tail outlined with a thin black strip.

Here is a Werner Voss Jasta 2 example:

I'm not sure weather the black spinner and wheel covers were standard black or Voss' personalisation... :dntknw:

PS From: Osprey Elite 26, Jagdstaffel 2 'Boelcke':

"By the late Spring of 1917, Jasta 'Boelcke' had adopted a unit marking of an all white tail unit trimmed in black, as displayed on this D.III.

Quite often the propeller spinner was black as well."

  8. Wow, guys...I feel allready home! :give_heart:

I'm also a big cinema fan, Olham and Lou.

Herr Prop-Wasche, don't be so modest!

I have already downloaded your DM mod, (v. 2.2 is cumulative isn't it?)...and Creaghorn's soundtweak and tracers mod,

even if I haven't got the actual game in my hands yet.

Gool luck with the FM tweak mod...

I heard you have corrected the FM of my beloved Albatros first... :good:

    Thanks again!

    :drinks:

  9. Do you too live in Europe Javito ?

I'm expectin' at least in the time frame given by Olham.

Parcels from outsite EU have to pass from Greek Custom Service before passed to Greek Mail...

Things are not running so fast, (moreover in Civil Services), in my country you know!

I've been reading your pilot's log Javito, what a read!

Very lively narrated! You have some talent there, you know... :ok:
