  1. Balderdash. A public release was made of "EAWUnProfessional", and it left the user with a root folder containing over 350 additional files needed to make it work properly. Some people use OAW, so I re-packaged it in OAW format for OAW users. That's what I hosted, and that's what I removed at VBH's insistence. In OAW format these files were protected from deletion and the set-up was very tidy. Anyone downloading it knew that it was VBH's work but re-packaged in a form that suited them.
  2. EAW160 trial version

Sticky keyboard LOL Of course this is a trial version, but it will let you find out how well your PC can handle UAW160
  3. EAW160

Just updating things here there are several posts in the EAW forum at SimHQ about EAW160, with information and download links. I will not elaborate here, as if readers are interested they can check out the posts http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/forums/85/1/european-air-war
  4. The EAW Code Development Team are pleased to announce the availability of the 1.28C upgrade Many new features are included. here is the Readme: http://www.users.on.net/pam_biddell/EAW1.28C_Readme.htm and you can download the 54 MB upgrade here: http://www.users.on.net/pam_biddell/128CInstall.exe Cheers Jel
  5. EAW 1.28C release

I do not know why it has taken so long for me to become aware of your post. Obviously you may have found what you need via SimHQ, so please let me know what you still need. We are now running V160- check out SimHQ for info and links. It includes a FAW theatre. I lived in Adelaide for 40 years, and played gigs in Loxton with various jazz bands. Cheers ;)
  6. This group has re-formed, and several old members have returned. They are currently using the "UAW150V4" installation which is available from my 150 download page at MediaFire After installing there is an optional patch "352SkinFix.exe" to be run in the "UAW150V4" folder. This patch adds the skin the "Spitty" uses. Jel
  7. EAW 1.28C release

Hi Geoffrey I had a lot of stuff at OneDrive, but Microsoft reduced the "free" limit, and I had to seriously rearrange what was there. The links in my signature work. Whereabouts in Oz are you? I lived and worked in Adelaide for over 40 years before moving to France
  8. Assuming that people needing them have downloaded the recent patches the installations available at OneDrive have been deleted, and replaced with a new single download installation: There is an instructions.txt file which reads as: To install: Download and run "UAW150V3.exe" You will get a full installation, and that should be all you need. Running this will create a folder named "UAW150V3" To play EAW: In the "UAW150V3" folder there is a "PSM150.exe" which is the GUI. Run this, make your selection and fly EAW150. ******************************************************************* The other files: "PSM150.exe" is for people who have the earlier patched installation. They can download it into their "UAW150V3" folder and use it instead of their previous versions of the GUI. "Runtimes.exe" needs to be downloaded if your PC does not have the runtile files installed which the "PSM150.exe" needs. It creates a folder named "Runtimes" with a "setup.exe" in it. Run "setup.exe" and say "Yes" to everything. The new GUI does not need the TABCTRL.OCX (which does not install easily on some PCs) and looks like this: Jel
  9. Thanks Jordi There are a few more things available now, including a new version of "Flying Tigers" I will just give the links to the details in posts at SimHQ: Flying Tigers: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/4280559/UAW150_patches_for_Flying_Tige#Post4280559 Iron Mike's multiskins: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/4280696/Iron_Mike's_multiskins_for_150#Post4280696 Jel
  10. Over 200 views, but has anyone tried it? We would love some feedback, positive or negative
  11. How the modern EAW works. In the 1.28 development the "Dir.set" system was first used in 1.28c and it is used in 1.28e, 1.28f, 1.29 1.40 and the new EAW150. This is an example using the current 1.29 release: This is the complete folder, but note the three highlighted items: You run the "DSP128-9.exe": Using it you select the "eaw.exe" that you will use, and a theatre. If the theatre contains planesets you select one, and the aircraft in it are listed so that you can see what you are getting. In this case the "ETO with planesets for 1.29" file has been selected. It resides in the "LongDirSets" folder, and selecting it makes the utility copy it and paste the copy in the root folder, named as "Dir.set" This single file contains the path names that the "eaw.exe" uses to find the files it needs for the game. Then you launch your game, either by clicking "FLY!" or by launching through a "d3dwindower" if one is needed to run EAW. Main screen: Single mission allied planes for selection: La-7 selected: Mission set_up Note that you can set the mission time and relate it to sunset or sunrise: Here we go, at the target just before sunset:
  12. The 150 download is also available from MediaFire https://www.mediafire.com/folder/23yjbchglj4dg/EAW150
  13. EAW150 still uses the "Dir.set" system, but is very different from 1.29 It still has the "LongDirSets" folder but a "PSM150.exe" in place of the "DSP128-9.exe" There are no CDF files, but there is a new "Aircraft_Inventory" folder and a "PlaneSets" folder Running the "PSM150.exe" lets you select a planeset then a theatre Here I have a SPAW planeset, but in the default ETO theatre with tropical terrain. EAW150 is slot free and does not use the "p38h" ....."V1V1" naming system A user at level 2 can view the current planeset, edit it by selecting folders from the "Aircraft_Inventory", or even build a completely new planeset: Launch and single mission selected This is a great plane to fly Mission set-up with the "new map exe": Launch from a real raised deck carrier: The Kate has a torpedo: Good kill!
  14. Well I guess you need the link https://onedrive.live.com/?authkey=%21ADyssu9VMuvF%5Fyo&id=82D5533B34C75A54%219628&cid=82D5533B34C75A54
  15. At the moment every installation is a beta, but the one that is now available is the one I have been using in my recent 150 screenshots. The 150 download page: If you want to install it: 1. Download the "UAW150V3.exe" which is a 7-zip self installer and run it. This will create a "UAW150V3" folder. 2. Download the "AircraftLibrary.exe" 7-zip and move it into the "UAW150V3" folder. When you run it your installation will be complete and your "UAW150V3" folder should look like this: 3. Run the "PSMV12.exe" to bring up the GUI...... ..... make your selections and launch EAW. As far as I know the only problem you might encounter at this stage is a runtime error CTD due to a missing OCX file when you try to run the "PSMV12.exe". If this occurs download and run the "VisualBasi6 Runtimes.exe to install the runtime files. The current state of progress: 1. Ray is still modifying a few loadout files, and possibly some weapons files, and when he has finished there will be a small patch. 2. More aircraft folders will be added to the "Aircraft_Inventory", and patches will be released so that you can add them. 3. More ready built planesets will be made available via patches. Here is the link to the 150 download page https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=82D5533B34C75A54!9628&authkey=!ADyssu9VMuvF_yo&ithint=folder%2cexe Jel
  16. Ray and I have been working on EAW150. It is a serious departure from EAW140 because the player first selects the planeset, then the theatre of operations. So you could fly SPAW planes in the ETO theatre with a desert terrain. A player can very easily build a planeset and fly it, all from the one GUI: Jel
  17. Level two: Making and flying your own planeset: In these pics I made a 7 plane planeset, with aircraft from SPAW, DAW and Dunkirk Planes are added to the lists by selecting a skin folder and a FM folder and double clicking in the first column The seventh planes has just been added I saved the planeset with the little checkbox checked. Saving unchecked it again. Switching to the other tab I renamed the set and wrote some info. I then made my selections of Midway, and an old map exe which Midway needs: Then I launched EAW; All the selected aircraft are in the air: ...and battle was joined That is how it can be done, and it shows the flexibility of 150
  18. Further explanation. In previous installations the SPAW theatre had its own planesets, and its own weapons files. So if you put a SPAW planeset into an ETO theatre the aircraft would have to use the ETO weapons files. What we have created, and are fine tuning, is a universal "weapons.dat", a universal "weapons.str" file, and a universal "hrdpoint.dat" file which all aircraft refer to when weapons are needed. These are the default files. Loadout files have been adjusted accordingly, and all "weapons.dat", "weapons.str" and "hrdpoint.dat" files have been removed from theatre folders, forcing the default ones to be used. There is an "Aircraft_repository" folder which the planeset files reference to find the skin and flighmodel files needed. It already contains a large collection of aircraft folders from all theatres, and as they become available more will be added. In my screenie you can see that there are currently eleven theatres to choose from and that I have 21 different planesets available. At level one the user just picks the exe, a planeset and a theatre, then launches the game. More about level two, at which players select their own individual aircraft later
  19. Since I last posted there have all sorts of updates. There are now two single installations, and no previous folders or files are needed, except for your "eaw.ini" file if you have one. 1. If you want to see if your system can handle EAW140 here is a link to a simple 140 test version: http://1drv.ms/1UdnVq9 Run the 7-zip to install and then use the DSP to pick an exe, the DefaultEAW theatre and planeset1 2. A full installation with several theatres included: The link is http://1drv.ms/1Ry1Kvk Download and run "140Multiplayer2016" It will create its own stand-alone "140Multiplayer2016" folder with everything in it. Just add your "eaw.ini", and get the d3d windower to access the "eaw.exe". The only other thing which you will need to do if you want to fly EAW online is to download the "MPNettext.str" file and put it in the "140Multiplayer2016\savedata" folder. For some reason it went AWOL when the installation file was made. When you run the picker you need to select an exe, a "Dir.set" and a planeset: As you can see I have chosen the "NewMapV80C" exe, "ETO with river barges...." as the Dir.set and planeset3. The list of aircraft is just for the player's information, and the other stuff at the right hand side is only needed when the user is hosting an online game. Once you have made your selections you can launch the game by clicking "Fly!" If you are using windows 10 that may cause an error, but setting the "DSP2016Flex.exe" to Win 7 or earlier in compatibility mode fixes it. Depending on your video card you may get garbled screen graphics, which can be fixed by running the game in a windower program Jel
  20. Our colleagues at SimHQ have converted my post in the community forum to a sticky http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/4150099/European_Air_War-_still_running Check it out, and the links that are in it Jel
  21. In line with a development in a thread at SimHQ I have put together a basic installation download, and am making it public. 1. You need to make a new folder and name it "EAW140" 2. Put copies of the following CDFs in it as they are not included: Movies.CDF Music.CDF Speech1.CDF Speech2.CDF Speech3.CDF UKBrief.CDF USBrief.CDF WSOUND.CDF 3. If you have one put a copy of your "eaw.ini" file in it. 4. Download this file which is a 7-zip self installer, put it in your "EAW140" folder, and run it: 140 basic install You will get the 1.40 equivalent of the EAW 1.2 installation plus additional stuff that the exe needs. It is set up to be expanded by downloading more theatres such as the extended ETO version with four planesets, SPAW, DAW, SAW and IRAQ. Some of these make good use of features in 1.40 that are not present in other exes. Jel
  22. Hi wiki I have been away visiting family and friends in Australia for several weeks, but with with limited internet access and just the files on this laptop. On Thursday this week we will be heading back to France with a four day break in Singapore. Once we are settled back in I will be able to respond properly Jel.
  23. I am starting this thead to post when we have a room open. EAW140RV1 room open right now TS3 running too Jel
  24. The files are at OneDrive and the link is here: http://1drv.ms/1G2HriK The first file that you need is the "140basicRV1" which is a 7 zip self installer. It can be run anywhere on your PC and it will create a fully working folder named "140basicRV1". The only thing you need to add before launching is your "eaw.ini" file. I have included mine (myeaw.ini) to rename and try if you do not have one. If you do use mine then edit it so that the entry "VirtualCockpit=1" appears in the first section. If you leave it as "VirtualCockpit=0" you will not see the cockpit needles. After installing you need to test it, and to do so you need to run the "DirSetExeManagerV5" and choose the exe, the "DefaultEAW" theatre and the planeset (1). EAW140 will CTD if no planeset is selected. At this stage none of the other theatres would have been installed. You do have a choice of exes for either the new map or the old. Then you should be able to fly On my Win 7 PC i need to use the "d3dwindower" program to avoid garbled maps for single mission selection. Once it is working you can download the five other theatres. Again they are 7-zip self installers, but this time each one must be run in your "140basicRV1" folder. Jel
  25. I have added the "d3dwindower" zipfile to the download page to provide a possible solution for Windows 7 users encountering bad screen graphics. Download the zip and extract the two files in it. I put them in my "140basicRV1" folder: The two files added are the "D3dHook.dll" and the "D3DWindower.exe". Running the "D3DWindower.exe" gives an empty window: Click on the "eaw.exe" and "DirSetExeManagerV5.exe" icons in your "140basicRV1" folder and drag them into the empty window: You can now launch either program from this window (which will appear when you run the "D3DWindower.exe") by double clicking the icon. EAW will run in windowed mode, with the selection screens in their natural resolution and the game in the resolution set in your "eaw.ini" file. I use less than full screen to accommodate the window borders. I have no graphics problems when I use the windower, and the results in Windows 7 are much better. Maybe because of its age and very old code some anti-virus programs treat the windower with suspicion, but I assure you that it is completely safe. I have been using it for over two years on various PCs. Jel
