Well...s**t! So much for the quick update. Seems I left out some instructions on installing the bridges. I've updated the download and added the updated Readme. I've also made just the Readme available for those that already downloaded the other. See the First Eagles File Announcements page. Once again, this is not for the Expansion Pack.

See the file announcements. Sorry folks, but at this time all you get are the guns (well, there's a new tracer and gun sound too). You're gonna have to place them yourselves. Of course if you already have one of my AAA MG mods installed its just a matter of installing the guns and replacing one of the MGs with one of the 37mm in the targets.ini.

I was thinking more about whiteknight's request for the N11 and N17 and the post about the new Weapon Editor and the Nieuport gunpod. If you are talking about the "hopped up" flight models of the EP (Thirdwire's stock models not Peter's...I know he's building off of Thirdwire's) , I agree. Other than adding the spins and spin recovery, I don't get it. They're fun no doubt, but I think they're WAY "overcooked". -

Its not the plane names its the WEAPON names. The names for all the weapons are in the weapondata.ini. You mentioned the Gotha. Its a perfect example of what I'm talking about. Open the NEW EXP PACK weapondata.ini and look for Bomb50kg. You won't find anything with that name. However you will find PuW50. A German 50kg bomb. Now change all the names of the bombs in the Light Bombs section in the loadout.ini to PuW50. You will now have light bombs for the Gotha. There ya go. No Weapon Editor necessary in this case. Look at the other planes loadout.ini that don't have the weapons you are looking for and see if you can find the equivalent in the NEW weapondata.ini. Then change the names in the loadout.ini to match. Anything left that isn't in the new weapondata.ini will have to be added via the same method you follow when you got them working the first time....BTW, how did you get those working the first time? -
OK, I reuploaded the Verdun Bridges mod for the pre-Expansion Pack version of First Eagles. I included the Airfield AAMG mod, added all the files needed and streamlined the Installation instructions. If you have any problems let me know. I'm planning on doing the same for the Exp. Pack versions too. Might take a little more time because I haven't figured out exactly how I'm going to do it.

I have a version for the Expansion Pack too. It uses the new bridges TK put in the EP. The Verdun V1.2 is for pre-EP installations. The layout is different and I don't think it will work for the EP. I'll get em back up soon.

First, thanks for the feedback. Truth is I never learned how to use the Mission Editor and place all my objects by hand. When I did the Sandbags I took the "easy" way out and didn't make them a separate ground object. They were kind of an "add-on" to the AA MGs and they worked fine for me installing them that way. If you want to make them GO's you can create a folder for them, add the .ini and make a data.ini for them. You'll also have to change the line in the TYPES.ini to UseGroundObject=TRUE.

"Incendiary rounds generally replaced them late war....(what ever late means)" 1916 keeps coming up as the year of the development and official approval of incendary rounds by both sides. Late '16, early '17. -

The N16 is an easy one. Once you get the N11 set up just copy the data.ini and loadout.ini over to the N16 folder. :yes: -

Hmmm....this brings up another question. Seems a lot of you have the older planes installed in the Exp. Pack. How's that working out as far as FM's and AI behavior? Is there an easy tweak to get them flying properly? I don't have anything in my EP but those that Peter has updated. -
This is from the Verdun terrain. Over an airfield near some balloons. The red-ish tracers didn't make it into the final version. Regarding doing the .ini work. I am always undecided about including an entire targets.ini with these mods because, 1. It overwrites everything. 2. Due to my limited HDD space I all I have is my "working/modding" copy and its got all kinds of stuff in it. I'd have to re-do all the .ini work I've already done...for each mod, ie. Bridges, Airfield AA MG, 37mm. etc. 3. Since the Verdun terrain is smaller with fewer target areas its the only terrain Targets.ini ready for release. 4. I NEVER get any feedback, good or bad, about installing these mods. Do most people want a completed targets.ini or do they prefer to do it themselves? I suppose I could make an all inclusive Mega-Air Defense Targets.ini incorporating everything......................

Can you get the artillery to fire at a balloon? Set up a battery, put a balloon behind it. Opposing arty "sees" the balloon as a target and fires "up" at it. Tweak the range to "fall short" so it simulates indirect fire. Make them very inaccurate to help spread out the impacts...just a little brainfart I had.

Good! Some of the older planes may have conflicts with how the weapons are named in the loadouts for the plane (this is where you may have to edit those individual planes to get them to work). Compare the loadout.inis of the planes that DO work with those that don't. You may have to edit the names in the old loadout.ini to match the new names. First, I'd still remove the entire Weapons folder and see what happens. You can always put it back....although without a working, updated weapondata.ini and weapondata.dat the Weapons folder won't work at all and it may be causing a conflict with the game.
