  1. Ok folks. Since there seems to be a lull in new developements with First Eagles lately, lets do a little survey. What aircraft do you all like to fly most? I try to get some action in all of them but there are a few that I always seem to go to when I want to do some "serious" flying. Feel free to list as many as you like and they don't have to be in order of preference. Comments on why you like them are welcome too. In no particular order: 1. Nieuport 11. So much better than the early German birds its not funny, yet still challenging due to the limited firepower of the single Lewis gun. You have to fly the plane and be patient or your ammo won't last. GREAT MODEL in every way! 2. SPAD XIII. Fast and powerful. Two guns. The SPAD was my original favorite plane in FE and it still is in the top three. 3. Nieuport 27. Yeah, the wing fabric ripped in a steep dive. No worse than the Albatross D series breaking wings though. Anyway in FE the N 27 is a force to be reconed with. ANOTHER GREAT MODEL in every way! 4 Sopwith Triplane. Another "World beater". Whats not to like? Sorry, don't mean to slight the German planes, I just don't fly them much. Jump right in folks. Lets hear your faves.....
  2. Sounds like a great idea. If you run into too much flak from those who don't want to share, just make your own from scratch and to heck with them.
  3. Engine section. Try increasing the IdlePropRPM?
  4. If you are talking about the Tab (Comms) function thats actually a substitute for "hand signals" for your flight. They do tend to follow your commands if they can "see" you.
  5. Almost...All you have to do to change back to the original file is delete the modified one. When you extract a file you are copying it. The original remains in the .cat file. The sim will find and read extracted files first and if it doesn't find one it will go to the .cat file and read the original. So you can muck around in the .ini files pretty much all you want to and not "break" anything that can't be "fixed" by deleting it.
  6. Dry? Yep. It was the "attitude" and the characters that I liked. I also got the impression that after the big war things had actually regressed, especially in the outer regions. I thought the "Frontier" aspect fit quite well.
  7. I'd like to see a comeback. The movie was good too. Firefly is one of the best IMHO.
  8. New BSG? Haven't missed an episode yet. Pissed because we have to wait a year to see the next chapter. Old BSG? Adolescent at best... Totally forgetable.

    Arcade games

Pong. The bar at the local bowling alley had a few game "tables" with Pong...later Space Invaders and PacMan...and yes, I was old enough to be in there. Then of course, I had the home version of Pong, too.
  10. I'm not aware of any that aren't compatable with Patch 2.
  11. Is there a cockpit folder in your DVa aircraft folder?
  12. According to the SF Notes the options are rare, common, and very common. Rare would help keep them from showing up at random too often. Perhaps a mission could be created with a friendly (English/French) flight and two enemy (German) flights arriving at the target area a short time apart with the captured AC being the second enemy flight. Then you could have a furball going on with the captured AC involved...possibly?
  13. The missions are all for the DVa. Did you have the DVa flyable before installing the missions? If so which cockpit were you using?
  14. Getting the plane in the game if you fly for the Germans is not a problem. Leading a flight of DVII's Definately not a "friendly"..... Just make a separate plane copying the Camel folder then renaming it German Camel or whatever and drop the skin in the folder. Then rename the Camel.ini file to German Camel.ini, change the AircraftFullName= and AircraftShortName= to German Sopwith Camel in the .ini file. Open your Camel_Data.ini and change the NationName=RAF to GERMANY. You can then select the German Camel to fly in Single Missions. To keep the German Camel a single AC just change the other planes in your flight to another type of AC in the loadout screen. Or you can add the German Camel as an AI in any flight by choosing it in one of your flight slots if you are flying a different AC. Now getting it to show up as a single plane in an enemy flight while you are flying for the English is another matter. I haven't thought about that yet.... Leaving the folder in game as is will likely get you a whole flight of German Camels as opponents in game generated Single missions.
  15. gumpy...If all else fails you can manipulate the cockpit seat position by changing the numbers in the appropriate cockpit.ini. [CockpitSeat001] ModelName=AlbatrosD5a_Cockpit.LOD HideExternalNodeName=cockpit OpenCockpit=TRUE ExternalClipDistMin=0.10 Position=0.0,-1.15,0.70 --------> first number is left/right, second is fore/aft, third is up/down. Offset=0.00,0.00,0.00 ViewAngles=0.0,0.0,0.0 Since you say you are halfway in with the guns over your head you need to move further aft and up. If you are using the .ini files provided with the missions, those utilize the Fokker DVII pit. You will need to extract the DVII cockpit.ini from the ObjectData.cat file.
  16. Hello, Tex. Good to hear from you too!
  17. I think once you fly manually to waypoint #2 then your flight should follow and its OK to go to auto pilot. Usually #2 waypoints are close to the airfields anyway. I've not tested this extensively but its working so far.
  18. Email capun1950"at"yahoo"dot"com and ask for the particulars. You will have to provide them with some information as part of the registration process. Sorry, thats yahoo NOT hotmail.
  19. As far as your mission goes the waypoints are fine. This is a bug in the sim as it does the same thing for randomly generated "Bomb Target" single missions. It only happens in Bomb Target missions. I mentioned it to TK before the last patch. BTW I love the sunrise start you've implemented. Great job!
  20. About that AI problem. There is a bug in the Bomb Target type missions. If you take off on auto pilot the rest of your flight will not follow the waypoints and tend to just fly out on the initial heading, climbing steadily. However if you manually fly through the first two waypoints before going to auto pilot your flight will follow. This happens on any Bomb Target mission with any aircraft if you try and take off on auto pilot from the ground.
  21. Well, RussoUK says he's back in business so the Bucc is coming in....'bout two weeks I'd guess.
  22. Sopwith Snipe, I've moved this file announcement here to the FE file announcement page. And thanks for your contribution! I like it very much.
  23. Good to hear from you EmlD. We are glad you are well...don't work too hard.
