  1. Anti Shipping

Thanks for the info! It brings new light.
  2. Anti Shipping

I'm asking here to avoid opening a new topic on something that I'm sure it has been answered somewhere else, but I could not find where. The problem arises in antiship missions. I am flying a soviet Badger and try to launch an antiship missile towards a ship. However simple it might seem from the western point of view (western missiles work just fine) the soviet heavy ASM's do not lock on the target. They just fly straigth and then slowly descend to their watery grand... splash. I mean they do not guide. They are dumb. Is there a glitch?
  3. The official strike fighters web page states as follows: " Wings Over Vietnam Patches Patch 3 (v07.05.05) Patch 3 addresses some minor issues introduced by the previous patch. Please read Readme.txt for more details. Note: This patch can only be applied to "v05.13.05" version of the game; if you have a previous version, please download and apply Patch 2 first. Download Patch 3 for Wings Over Vietnam (5.35 MB) Patch 2 (v05.13.05) Patch 2 fixes some known issues with the game such as campaign attrition bug and multiplayer co-op bug. Please read Readme.txt for more details. Note: This patch can only be applied to "v11.05.04" version of the game; if you have a previous version, please download and apply Patch 1 first. Download Patch 2 for Wings Over Vietnam (16.2 MB) Patch 1 (v11.05.04) This is a maintenance patch to bring Wings Over Vietnam up to the Strike Fighters: Project 1 Service Pack 3 standard. Download Patch 1 for Wings Over Vietnam (7.71 MB) " I have patched recently a Wings Over Vietnam variant of the Strike Fighters genre and in the end, after applying all three patches it says v07.05.05, just as it says to you. You could reinstall the game and before patching look at the starting version. Perhaps the game was already patched with patches 1&2 and you only had to apply the third one. In this case before patching you should have v05.13.05. If this is the case, I guess everything is ok just installing the third patch. If not (starting version is different from v05.13.05 and still you can only apply the last patch), then perhaps some of the "elders" here could help. I'm new here too.
  4. Tu-22 problem

Thank you guys! Everything is clear now. To the SFP1 then
  5. This question came first in a MIG-25 topic and as it was a bit off topic I made a Tu-22 topic. So my problem concerns the Tu-22. It does not go to hangar until I change MinBaseSize=MEDIUM from it's previous LONG value. But the trouble is just after this. After that it starts loading the mission and then crashes the game at ~70% load complete. Why!? I have WOV pack 3 and the latest weapons mod Sidewinder86 had some suggestions here: QUOTE(Sidewinder86 @ Feb 10 2006, 04:50 AM) " Do you have the Lod's and such for the aircraft? TU-22 is from SFP1... you need to copy over the lods and other files you need to fly it. " This might be it. However I am new around the stick here so I'm not sure what this LOD is all about. I've seen some LOD's in the tu22.ini file. They are some files and I see LODs in the folders of other addon aircrafts. I do not know however where to get LODs for Tu-22.And my guess they are related to the shape of the plane. Caesar, thanks for the info too! I've made some progress with some added planes whith which i could not select a mission type. However it did not help with the Tu22. I can select now strike mission. Even before when no mission type was selectable I could hit the Fly! button in the hangar after selecting the payload but loading crashed the game at about 70%. So it's something just before the mission initialization/start. Well I'm still into this investigation. Just for fun I have copied some LODs from a MIG-23 and renamed them to see what is happening. The game actually started this time and I could see the cockpit but the outside view was a surprise... the plane was invisible (to the eye - the enemy missiles were homing on me). So I guess this is indeed the solution : get the right Tu-22 LOD's. The only problem is: where to get them!? Thanks in advance for any kind of help. Oh, and by the way if I have to work a bit for this, I'm willing to
  6. Hey, thanks for the answer! Oook... This might be it. However I am new around the stick here so I'm not sure what this LOD is all about. I've seen some LOD's in the tu22.ini file. Are they some files? Should they be somewhere on the hard drive and i should copy them from sfsp1 to WOV? Please give me some insight here as I'm a bit lost Caesar, thanks for the info too! I've made some progress with some added planes whith which i could not select a mission type. However it did not help with the Tu22. I can select now strike. Even before when no mission type was selectable I could hit the Fly! button in the hangar after selecting the payload but loading crashed the game at about 70%. So it's something just before the mission initialization/start. Well I'm still into this investigation and perhaps with some help I'll manage to brake the sound barrier with Tu22... poetry Edit: Oh I've forgot to metion: there is no lod in the Tu-22 folder in the objects\aircraft folder; there are some LODs in the MIG25 folder so I might be missing the Tu-22 LODs indeed...
  7. It works for me! Thanks guys! However there are other planes crashing the game as well and the remedy is the same(Badger for example). My problem concerns the Tu-22. It does not go to hangar until I do this change. After that it starts loading the mission and then crashes the game at ~70% load complete. Why!? Help! Thanks again! I have WOV pack 3 and the latest weapons mod
