    It has been CombatACE as long as I've been a member. I don't remember how I originally came across the site but I have owned about every iteration of SF ever released. This has always been my go-to place for that sim. I even treated myself to the all-in-one install for my retirement. I won't be leaving here any time soon. Finagle willing.

  7. Agreed. The advantage of having a "complete install" is you don't need to worry about prerequisite requirements for the various mods that are available.

  13. I have seen this, too. I don't recall if it happens with all planes. Like Wrench says, I usually end the mission at that point. I've never taken the time to really research it.
  14. What I have seen is that bomb bay animation is triggered by CTRL O (OH). Cockpit animation is USUALLY set to SHIFT 0 (ZERO). That is more of a CombatAce modder standard than anything else. Hopefully any README files for a given aircraft will detail the animations and proper trigger keys.
  15. I have had problems running SF1 under Win10. Just sayin'. You don't say what OS you are using. My issues are more around overall performance. I don't know anything about the DX modules you are referring to. I have had to use a tweaked version of DDRAW.DLL for some games under Win10. I don't remember any references to needed it for SF1. I could be wrong. I REALLY don't know anything about the DeusEx d3d9.dll. I have you tried removing these two DX tweaks just to see what happens?
  16. Yes, I think the "menu" screens are displayed differently than the actual simulation world screens. I've seen the same thing. Glad you got it working!

  20. Might be time for you to jump into modding. I have no idea if it can be done but you could try replacing the TMF instrument with the Thirdwire instrument.

    I have meant for a long time to say how much I appreciate your work on EAW. It has always been one of my favorite sims and to have it be playable in this day and age is just amazing. One of my prized possessions is the original printed manual for the game. They don't make them like that anymore. Keep up the good work!
  22. I liked it's equivalence to European Air War in terms of being able to jump in and fly a quick mission or dig into a campaign. I know people say it's "lite" compared to something like DCS but I think as a COMBAT sim it really excels at delivering that experience. I really don't like DCS for a lot of reasons I won't go into here. Let's just say it is not my go-to sim. If I want a FLIGHT simulator I will go with MSFS or X-Plane. Easy to play, easy to mod, great community, great mods. What is not to like from a easy to access COMBAT simulator?

    My only complaint is Steam distribution. That's just a personal opinion and is not a reflection on the quality of the game in any way. Steel Beasts really needed some competition as well IMHO. I have been waiting for years for a Steel Beasts "non-pro". GHPC really fits that bill. And I STILL play M-1 Tank Platoon 2!!
