  1. Just as a exercise in modding I am trying to bring the AT-6D from the SF1 Korean War Mod over to SF2. I've had excellent luck porting other SF1 aircraft but I cannot for the life of me figure out why I cannot get the textures to display correctly or the decals to show up. It should be using stock decals as there is no D folder in the original aircraft config structure. Here is the decal.ini [Decal001] MeshName=Fuselage DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=RIGHT FilenameFormat= Position=-0.0,-0.0 Rotation=0.0 Scale=1 [Decal002] MeshName=Fuselage DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=LEFT FilenameFormat= Position=-0.0,-0.0 Rotation=0.0 Scale=1 [Decal003] MeshName=Tail DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=RIGHT FilenameFormat=Insignia Position=-3.0,-0.0 Rotation=0.0 Scale=1.5 [Decal004] MeshName=Tail DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=LEFT FilenameFormat=Insignia Position=-3.0,-0.0 Rotation=0.0 Scale=1.5 [Decal005] MeshName=LeftWing DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=TOP FilenameFormat=Insignia Position=-4,-0.0 Rotation=8.0 Scale=1.4 [Decal006] MeshName=RightWing DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=BOTTOM FilenameFormat=Insignia Position=4,-0.0 Rotation=8.0 Scale=1.4 [Decal007] MeshName=LeftWing DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=BOTTOM FilenameFormat=NationName Position=-4,0.0 Rotation=-8.0 Scale=2.0 [Decal008] MeshName=RightWing DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=TOP FilenameFormat=NationName Position=4,0.0 Rotation=-8.0 Scale=2.0 I know the fuselage decal statement specifies a null file but the fuselage insignia is actually attached to the tail mesh. Seems to work fine in SF1.
  2. Sheesh. Ok. I'll try that (and the new one.) Thanks, Wrench.
  3. I Don't Know Anymore Which is the Best WWI Sim!

ANY game that requires online activation will not get my vote. I've been burned once and it will never happen again. I went with FE2. It's just a solid, fun sim. I am about ready to give OFF a try as I have a new rig that runs CFS3 well. I'll look at ROF if and when it goes on sale on GOG DRM free.
  4. XP and DirectX 10

Hmmmm. This just looks a little too good to be true. I stopped when I saw the Russian FAQs. (I downloaded it on my "trash" virtual XP machine just to be safe.) Might be OK but it looks like a "crack" of DX10 to me. Not sure I want to go there. YMMV..... Let us know how you get on.
  5. It might depend on which cockpit they use. If they use the Netz cockpit from WOI you will need WOI or grab an F-16 cockpit from somewhere else.
  6. It sound a lot like you are running an exe that was not properly updated with a patch. I have a similar issue with my "custom" exes when I do an update. I need to make sure I recreate the custom exes from a new patched exe to get any of them to work. What is the name of the EXE file you are trying to start?
  7. Totally AWESOME!

As a recovering model builder I am just a little envious. Very impressive. The takeoffs and landings are very well done.
  8. Apollo 18 the Blair Witch Project on the Moon

Geez. You guys are no fun. Next you'll be telling me Santa Claus doesn't exist. (How would NORAD track him if he didn't exist, HUH? HUH?)
  9. Old school video games...

I prefer dosbox over native dos for most games given it's a bit of a pain doing all the old dox memory dances as well as joystick and sound card support. With the rigs these days most dosbox based games run just fine. I still love F-15 Strike Eagle II (yes, I said II (two, 2, dos)) and F-117 Stealth Fighter from Microprose. Age of Rifles still can't be beat. I recently got Star Trek The Next Generation - A Final Unity installed under dosbox. Looks danged good for as old as it is. I run Win98 under a VM just so I can play the Great Battles Series from iMagic. (The game's got a weird glitch under XP and higher where the right mouse click commands don't work..) And then I found Good Old Games. OMG......www.gog.com
  10. MTV at 30

    I'm a doofus. I STILL don't watch it.
  11. RED TAILS looks awesome! for me to poop on

    Me, too. Rivet-counters be damned.
  12. Glad the pilot is OK and no spectators were injured.
  13. CombatAce Needs Your Help

Just reupped as Premier, my friend. Sorry it took so long...... <====== SEEE!!!!!!!
  14. F-80C Shooting Star (by Pakso) For SF2 Updated

    Nice!! Thanks!
  15. OT Got my Job :)

    Congrats.....Good luck!
  16. ICQ

I use it to chat with my game producer in Germany (I'm in Omaha, NE). It is simple and gets the job done. I like the Web based ICQ as I can use it at work without installing additional software. That being said, we also use Facebook chat and while we've never used it to meet we both have Skype. I signed up with Skype after I dropped my land line. Great way to make work related phone calls (I'm at the computer already.....) and saves cell minutes.
  17. You should get one for the back garden

The Flogger would be cooler if you could sit in it
  18. And she is down for the last time...

As a card carrying space geek I am also sad that an era has ended. We cannot lose sight of the fact that in the big scheme of things this is a very small, very fragile planet. I firmly believe our future demands we look beyond this rock. I told you I was a geek.
  19. Mirage Factory F-16B Block 15

    Thanks, Dave!
  20. They will be prying my CH stick and throttle from my cold, dead hands.
  21. FSX

This is good info. I have and really like FS2004 and just have not seen a real reason to go with FSX (assuming it would run on my rig in the first place.) I have purchased a few addons for FS2004 but the majority of my addons are freeware and are of excellent quality.
  22. 20 Years and Some Change.....

Congratulations and thanks for your service. Have fun with the next phase of your life.
  23. Boeing MH-47G SOA Chinook

Alas. I have committed unforgivable sins and am not worthy of possessing this mod. Does look REALLY cool, though! Nicely done!
  24. Favorite Music Genre?

Jazz and classic because I can listen to it on public radio. No stupid commercials. This sounds lame but basically I like it if it's got a beat and you can dance to it. I prefer percussion based music as opposed to ballads, for instance. So I tend to cross a lot of genres. I really like Blue Man Group. I listen to Hearts of Space just about every week. Now that's some eclectic stuff. Do not really like folk music. A bit on the pretentious side if you ask me. And, of course......
