Hopefully he stays there and isn't traded away for something inconsequential.......

my last task was an upgrade to the Fylingdales site which would have given the site the ability to track much, much smaller objects in orbit. The box was delivered and ready to go - cancelled because zero was too much to complete the project..........

is there supposed to be a link or something? -
Good luck with that...... I suspect the acceptance of a new gaming rig would come after all the basic appliances were replaced.

That is the system that I was referring to above. Thanks!! yep, already out there in considerable numbers.

(shrugs) possible. somewhat similar to the Russian equivelant, also a 30mm. more barrels and higher rate of fire to deal with the faster cruise missiles today sounds logical. One of the limitations of our current 20mm is that the range isn't enough to engage a supersonic cruise missile and stop it before the remnants hit the ship. So the USN has been looking at upgrading ours but has gone the missile route instead for now.

Recent Intercept Photos (RNoAF)
Typhoid replied to MigBuster's topic in Military and General Aviation
it is a bit more serious of a game than that. One side is flying with weapons within range of potential targets. Clearly sending the message that they can take out the targets if they want to. The other side is intercepting with visibly armed fighters to send the message that - no you can't. At sea, the game of the defense side is to intercept with visibly armed fighters before the offense is in range. it is a very serious game. -
Recent Intercept Photos (RNoAF)

Concur, standing operating procedure by all sides. I'd be worried if I DIDN"T see any weapons! I'd be wondering where the real flight with the weapons were!! -
the funny thing is, that if the NK's had just ignored the movie, it would have crashed on its own.

Agree, a dark day indeed and prayers for the victims and their families

If only Maverick & Goose had flown the F-14B/D
Typhoid replied to MigBuster's topic in Military and General Aviation
$4billion? how many F-14's were lost to asymmetric thrust/flat spin? I only know of one, but then I wasn't in any F-14 wings. -
On the run?!! The Pakistani Army does NOT have the Pakistani Taliban on the run! Far from it. This is not a "last desperate attack" by any means. And since we are bailing out and leaving our Afghan allies on their own against the Afghan Taliban, I fail to see how our prematurely terminated operations could possibly have them on the run. that said, this sort of gutless, cowardly attack against the defenseless shows the utter lack of character of the murdering, psychopaths of the Jihadist-Fascist scum that make up the Taliban.

yea, one or two of us......

I saw a statement from the administration that we are conducting "uncoordinated deconfliction" with the Syrian AF, apparently with the Iranian AF as well. (shakes head in utter disbelief)

I'd like to see Thrawn in the new series. That would add some new plot lines.

Yeah. Although to be fair, those are just for training. When they jumped me in 1983, it was a pair of Mig-21's.
