Replacing stock aircraft
hotrodss replied to hotrodss's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Thanks again MigBuster, I take it that the campaign files are located in the "CAMPAIGNS" folder? I got this example from the Rolling Thunder config file... [uSNUnit002] UnitName=VF-24 Checkertails ForceID=1 UnitID=64 StartDate=1965 DescFile=wovRTStart.txt StartText=wovRTStart3.txt StartScreen=CampaignCarrier.bmp CampaignBaseScreen=CampaignCarrier.bmp AircraftType=F-8E <<<<<------------ I just change the a/c name to match the I'm substituting? Hello, Is it possible to replace stock flyable a/c files with TMF a/c files (or any add-on a/c from C5 or 3rd party) to fly in both campaign and single mission? I know about "adding a/c's to a campaign sticky (thanks, MigBuster). I'm talking about just deleting the a/c file (say stock F-105D) and replace the whole file with the F-105D-25 or -31 file. I tried to install a couple of skins for the stock F-105D (Cherry girl by Armourdave & F-105D 49TFW by a guest) once installed I choose the skins at loadout and both a/c's were white, as in blank. This happened before and I was told it's because the skins were for a specific model i.e. the -31 or TMF version. There seems to be more skins for TMF a/c than stock skins for WoV, especially for the F-105, F-8 & A-6. Currently flying F-8, VF-24, Rolling Thunder. And I know about Wrench's sticky about "adding 3rd party a/c's" in the SFP1 KB. Thanks HR

A/C data.ini's for WoV S1
hotrodss replied to hotrodss's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Ok, I think I have that cat extractor, I think it's called SFP1E_10, but I have not installed it yet. -
Hey all, I noticed that not all a/c's have data.ini files. Example...I want to use the camouflage pilot helmet by Wrench on the F-4, the -D model has a data.ini file, while the -C & -E models do not. Can I just copy the F-4D Data.ini file to the -C & -E models to get the data.ini files?, or will that just give them the D's flight characteristics. HR

Strike Fighters2 series
hotrodss replied to hotrodss's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Ok, thanks for the input, looks like I'll be flying SF2 series soon enough. HR -
Hey everyone, Just want opinions/feedback from the community, been having a ball flying SF1 series and all its add-ons, I want to know should I get SF2 series? The only thing I know about the second series is the graphics are better and you can play on Vista or Win 7. I looked over the TW website and noticed that SF2 can also be played on XP (which is what I have) and there seem to be a lot more skins, add-on, campaigns and the like. HR

Weapon Editor question
hotrodss replied to hotrodss's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Yeah FC I know it would be arcadish, but it's very frustrating when ALL of you missiles go "stupid" and you have to shoot down enemy bombers with your gun while being chased by their escorts...oh wait, that's what TOP GUN & AGRESSOR SQD was for...nevermind. -

Just flew a mission in WOE_NF4, launched all missiles at 1 enemy a/c I locked up and ALL 8 missiles failed to track. Question is; Will changing the values (Accuracy, Lock-on Chance, Noise Rejection, CM Rejection & Target Aspect..to name a few) for the early AIM-9s & AIM-7s to higher values make them perform like later versions? i.e. AIM-9L -P & AIM-7F -M.

I recently installed Vietnam 1984 add-on campaign to a Oct2008 patched version of WoV. 1. WoV (clean) 2. Oct2008 patch 3. Weapons Pack 1/25/09 4. Weapon Editor 2/2008 5. Vietnam 1984 Everything was installed in the above order, I double and triple read the readme file, all folders were in their correct locations. I started the game and this is when the keystrokes started acting funky...for example the A key (autopilot) cycled through the nav lights, the Z key (ECM on/off) jettisoned the external tanks and the B key (brakes) set the bomb release intermitten times. Now before anyone says go to the 'Options' screen, I did that and rechecked for the corrosponding keys to the functions I wanted and the same thing occured. I've install/uninstalled/reinstalled everything twice and can't get keys to work right. Anyone else have this happen? How did you fix it? Samething happened with the F/A-18E add-on 2 weeks ago, I just reinstalled the a/c and the keys work fine. Can't explain that one. Any advice on this???

Quick question about this a/c.... Want to install in WoE w/08 patch and looking over the folders I know where everything goes except for the folders named "agrusn1" and "seat_SJU-17". Do these folders go into the OBJECTS folder or somewhere else? Do I open each folder and put the individual files in or the whole folders? Thanks

Just installed clean versions of WoE & SFP1 series 1, flipped through the download section under "patches" and found Sep2008 update. Can I install the Sep2008 update AND then install Oct2008b update over that OR just install the Oct2008b update. Also, what's the latest weapons pack to use? I checked the weapons pack download section and found 2 by MF one dated January 2008 and a second dated January 25, 2009 (or do these only work with MF a/c?) The last one I found was Weapons Pack 2.25 by the Wo*/SFP1 community. I have a couple of the Weapon Editors one dated 02/20/08 & the second dated 04/24/06. (Which one works with which update?) I have the old Weapons Pack 3Jul2006 by Bunyap. (Will this work with WoE or SFP1 patched to Oct2008b?) Thanks

I found the file 'Korean Air War Mod' submitted by Edward on 15 Oct 2006, is this the mod you are referring to?
