  1. I'm a SERIOUS fan of the Hawk!!!!! And the Skyray still looks like something out of a Sci-Fi movie.
  2. My personal choice is an Nvidia GTX760ti; splitting the difference between cost and performance. The 750 isn't bad either.

  10. Same here. I have had SAMS fire at me while running at treeptop level. The SA-13's are particularly nasty.
  11. Gentlemen, I MUST be doing something wrong. I cannot get a single skin to show on any of the models. Did I miss a step?
  12. The Official CombatAce MTV Thread

But....since we're talking about MTV, this is my all-time favorite video EVER. Love the hair.
  13. The Official CombatAce MTV Thread

I'm a fan of Jazz / New Age, and usually when I'm flying a mission, I have the music on. This is my contribution. No fancy visuals or screenplay...just one very smooth song.
  14. One man's opinion of women in the military

They can do the job(s) just as well as men. In the 2+ decades that my military career lasted, I never saw women that can't do whatever they put their minds to. Of course they serve for the same reason men do, and speaking for myself, we can share a foxhole, tent, crappy bivouac in bumf**k nowhere, and whatever else is thrown at us anytime, anyplace, gender be damned. And if they want to carry an M4, M60, M240, or M-whatever, carry on.
  15. JXD S7800b

    Uhhh, I like Tacos?
  16. New Badges

Good Morning, The AF badge looks good, and I wore the uniform from 1977 until retirement in 1998.
  17. Would You Tell Them?

I recently watched a documentary on the National Geographic Channel, and the synopsis is below: There is a neutron star headed our way, and we have 79 years to get this done. No if's; no but; no maybes; no extra time. This planet is going to die. And if we can't figure out how to save SOME of humanity, so does the species..... "If we faced a countdown to destruction, could we build a spacecraft to take us to new and habitable worlds? Can we Evacuate Earth? NGC's two-hour special examines this terrifying but scientifically plausible scenario by exploring how we could unite to ensure the survival of the human race." http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/channel/episodes/evacuate-earth/ The link to the full video on you tube is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7H54bpwANys A friend at work I convinced to watch this, and I were having a discussion on this, and he posed a very simple question. If you knew the world were coming to an end, and you knew when, would you tell the world? He said he would not, due to the ensuing social and civil upheaval. I disagreed, and the discussion ensued. So I'll put the question to you....... Would you tell them?
  18. Everybody hates me

    Just.......................No
  19. Just my 2 cents: Why not the standard "Hump" down the spine?
  20. Another film thread

I went with the 7 best for me..............Not ranked in any special order. El Dorado Blazing Saddles (it IS a western, just a completely foolish one) Silverado Open Range Lonesome Dove Quigley Down Under The Quick & the Dead
  21. Best war comedy (or romance)

it may not "technically" qualify, but the funniest one I can ever remember for outright foolishness to make your sides hurt is "No Time For Sergeants."
  22. Worst War Movie Ever...

U-571. As if the Germany Navy was ever that incompetent. And it was the British that captured the Enigma decoding machine in 1941. One sub being hit by torpedoes out of the night by another sub, and then the survivors taking over the attacking sub? You don't get to be submarine captain's by having the IQ of a turnip. A German Destroyer/Destroyer Escort/Patrol Boat/Minesweeper, whatever it was with what had to be the dumbest crew ever to sail the Atlantic... You roll up on a German Sub in the Middle of the Atlantic, and the Captain isn't the one doing the talking? And you let them train their guns on you? Not to mention that it was exceedingly rare to SEE a U-Boat on the surface outside of port, unless there was some sort of major issue/action going on. And a long litany of things that just don't make any sense whatsoever. If it were trying to pass itself off as a war movie, the title of "worst ever" would go hands down to the "Iron Eagle" series. They had to be the absolute stupidest scripts ever set to cellulite.
  23. What about good war films in general?

Personal Choices: WW1: All Quiet on the Western Front The Lost Battalion Paths of Glory The Blue Max WW2: Das Boot Tora, Tora, Tora Enemy at the Gates Cross of Iron Korean War: The Brotherhood of War Pork Chop Hill Steel Helmet Taeguki Sayonara Fantasy War Stuff: The Bedford Incident Threads Fail Safe
  24. Best Vietnam war film?

Go Tell The Spartans; Apocalypse Now; The Boys in Company C.
