the target area editor shows all the TOD items!! it is a godsend!!! (like the lod viewer!!)
  2. getting the 'double cockpit' issue, with the external model show. so, I did this: extract the data ini, and place it in the SMB2's folder... add to the ]AircraftData[ section: Component[010]=Hide1 [Hide1] ParentComponentName=Fuselage ModelNodeName=Canopy_front ShowFromCockpit=FALSE DamageRating=DISABLED DetachWhenDestroyed=FALSE HasAeroCoefficients=FALSE I tried the 'hide external node' statement in the cockpit ini 1st, but it didn't work! outstanding cockpit, as usual Stary!! 5 stars!!

those boats look great! I'm really liking the barge being towed ... is that a one piece lod, or 2 seperate items? (those could be usefuell for FRPigeon's more modern Euro map, too! To say nothing of ww2!) are you using the Target Area Editor, or the old fashioned way?
  4. i can't remember if it was the F9F-2 Panther or A-26 Invader, don't remember if it went all black or ???. The 3W engine, afaik, does the "automatic conversion" if jpg is used for bmp, even if the LOD calls for bmp. I don't think DDS is in it's 'list'. (??). But WILL read them if the lod is speced for dds. at least, that's my understanding!
  5. it's the pit.1 lod that has the shadow issue; this is well known since 2010 (ish) copy/paste this into a blank notepad sheet, and "save as..." pit1.ini" [LOD001] Filename=pit1.lod Distance=6000 [shadow] CastShadow=FALSE ShadowCastDist=500 MaxVisibleDistance=2000 place a copy into EVERY terrain folder. --- also, somewehre in the downloads section is a replacement version built, iirc, by Russo
  6. i wouldn't convert the skins from dds. I tried that once, and it didn't work. if the decals arent showing it might be several things: 1) incorrect positioning - easily fixed with Mue's Lod Viewer 2) defective tgas 3) wrong node name (see #1)
  7. in 59, they finally got missiles ... but LOOK what they got!!

This package contains skins for the following squadrons: USN: VF-21 "Mach Busters" (USS Forrestal, shakedown cruise, 1956) VF-111 "Sundowners" (USS Bennington, mid-1957 WesPac ) USMC: VMF-235 "Death Angels" Almost all markings are decals, with the exception of some special squardron markings and color "zaps". The skins are in jpg format. Decal randomization is TRUE. See "Notes" for more information on the markings and so forth As always the standard, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. Please READ them! Happy Landings! 9. hmmm...maybe something in the LevelBombAI statements??? No, wait that's only altitude and release intervals. For grins, do the same test with the stock B-52s or Tu-16s watch their airspeeds. Maybe something can be found in there??? (other than the fact they're easily twice as fast as the Forts and Libs!)
  10. well, there are 2 other files before it, so I just stuck the "3" on there!!

  12. hmmm... that makes we wonder if the tricks used to "create" the B-29 pit couldn't be used here as well it may, however, require mapping and skinning of the interior regions of cockpit/fuselage, since "open cockpit" is used for that
  13. hmm...got it to work right off the bat. simple copy/paste of the skin folder, in this case the 57th FIS in Iceland, from the F-15C_85, to the F-15D_85. Didn't even mess with the decals; one dosen't need to move the decal folder, as the pathway written in the decals ini will ALWAYS 'look' for it's original folder...they don't even need repositioning. don't know what to say; couldn't be easier. bmp or jpg make no difference to SF2, as it's the game engine and not the LOD that chooses what to use, based on what's available.
  14. Bennie and her jets (CVA-20, USS Bennington, VF-111 FJ-3M Fury)
  15. Ed, check with Geezer, as he has recently done some new pilots for FE2, they could be "adapted"
  16. *!@ !!! missed again!! -- I agree on ST -- but this time DO IT RIGHT!!
  17. probably want to start running down individual ANG units, as most Hs served there (or were soon regulated to them)

File Name: SF2 FJ-3 Fury USN Skin Pack File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 22 February 2016 File Category: F-86 SF2 FJ-3 Fury USN Skin Pack 2/19/2016 = For SF2, Any & All (Full-5 Merged Reccomended) = This package contains 2 new Us Navy skins for the FJ-3/3M Fury. This package contains skins for the following squadrons: VF-91 "Red Lightnings" (USS Ticonderoga, WesPac, 1957/58 "NG" code) VF-173 "Jesters" * (USS Franklin D. Roosevelt, 1956/57 "R" code) (* note: VF-73 also was called Jesters, in approximately the same time frame!) Also, for VF-173, I've suppled tail and wing code letters (AD) for it's deployment aboard USS Randolph (6th Fleet); although the profiles (in the skin folder) MAY be in error, as the time frame overlaps that of the deployment about the Rosie. Almost all markings are decals, with the exception of some special squardron markings and color "zaps". The skins are in jpg format. Decal randomization is TRUE. 19. if you look very carefully, you'll see it IS an FJ-3M. I had to max files from Zur, and Russ did some completion work in 2012 (??). It only lacks the folding wings download the V.2 pack, and you'll see!!

    S!
  22. they'll be welcome replacements for my 'hack job' FMs for the ones we have now by Cocas and Veltro!
  23. you're also missing the FRONT statements. Fuel tanks reside in a armored "box", in essence (my bet would be DAT data ini; they ALWAYS forget that) weight has never been a concern, with armor. In other words, it simply "exists". iirc, the "standard" is (based on what TK mentioned 12 years ago...): 5 mm glass = 1 mm aluminium 5 mm aluminium = 1 mm steel (and this one is a guess) 5 mm steel= 1 mm titanium
  24. Removing the cockpit reference ONLY removes it from "Player Use". The AI can still find it (example: all the MiGs and such) an easier way, to remove from both AI and Player use, is just rename their main folders (ie: xBuccaneer) that way, if you change you mind and want to fly them, you can. Deleting the folder is the other is, of course, the nuclear option; you lose it forever
