SF2 "Civil/Firefighter" Mod Part 5B 1/13/2016 = For SF2, Full 4/5 Merged RECCOMENDED*! = *-SF2NA is NOT a requirement, but having SF2:E is, as the terrain references objects in the GermanyCE.cat, as well as several aircraft. There are no "naval units" needed for this. HOWEVER!!! SF2:V is REQUIRED, as the Skyraider is used in this mod. Hence, at minimum, a FUll-4 Merged install in required!!* This is part 5b of the incomplete "civil mod" as discussed on the CombatAce message boards. I've done, and gone, as far as I can, and instead of sitting on what I have, am uploading EVERYTHING in several parts in the hopes that someone will pick up the ball and run with it. A full civilian style flght sim may not even be possible, due to the game's central programing as a "combat flight sim", but you never know. These packages will be broken down into their various components, and will include the (incomplete) "Forest Bowl" terrain, aircraft, skins and decals, ground objects, what few "weapons" are needed, effects, sounds, and all. Basically, my entire "Civil" mods folder, minus the stock 3W combat aircraft and ground objects. Part 5B contains the following items: Objects/ Aircraft (please note this is the 2nd, and last half of the aircraft folder.) As always, (hopefully!) easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! It is HIGHLY reccomended you download ALL the parts first, and then unzip them together in a temp folder to assemble. You WILL be creating a seperate, stand-alone mods folder for this. If unsure how to build one, consult the CombatAce SF2 Knowledge Base. Good Luck! Wrench Kevin Stein this concludes the uploads! Have at it folks; make something of this or at the very least, HAVE SOME FUN!!

  10. Chinese A-12 Shrike

    that's cool!!
  11. B-66 we've had for nearly ten years; should be several versions (and skins) in the download sections
  12. ok, using Mue's tool, one can see 'bounding boxes', hit boxes, and all data inis call for the following min/max extensions (which I assume are the hit boxes? cause when I change them, the hit boxes move) collision points -- which, if I understand correctly, are the 'contact points' for collisions with The Ground ™ and other aircraft and the aforementioned bounding box -- which is exactly what?? some of the questions are: why can't I use the bounding box specs for a hit box, say for an engine. I tried that, and the "green hit box" (as seen in the lod viewer) doesn't show. if pictures would help, let me know...as I'll have to hide all but the relevant meshes (secret project, doncha know!) Setting these things up is a fracking nightmare!!! Would they be easier set in MAX by the modeler or what??
  13. you mean the "save as info txt" function? it gives something like this...(just the first few lines) <Node Name> <Material ID> <Bounding Box> Fuselage 0 (-1.072,-2.168,-2.012) (1.068,4.184,0.6327) FORFuselage 0 (-1.066,4.184,-2.012) (1.062,9.743,0.6241) NOSE 0 (-0.9421,9.69,-2.009) (0.9389,10.96,0.216) NoseCone now, using these 2 sets of 3 co-ords, they can set the hit boxes (and I'll be needing to add 3 more component listings based on how the fuselage is broken up, but that's not a biggie. just have no aero statements) now the next big question: can these also be used for the collision points; as stated in the original data in, they're WAAAAAAAAAYY off from the mesh coordinates the numbers are, I hopefully assume, are the bounding boxes (I had 'show all BBs').. below is the screenie of the hit box on the engine nacelle, as using the bounding box numbers. looks good to me!!
  14. I can categoricly state it is NOT a cetacean
  15. good to see you back again Nick!! to the question posed.... I'm running at the July 2013, which is what level you'll be at if/when you decide to jump into SF2. They can't be purchased any other way from the 3rd Wire site. The good thing about that is, all the DLC items are set for use ONLY at he 7/13 patch (they won't install otherwise). what I'd start with, is all dependent on what you want to fly -- if you want carrier ops, SF2NA is must. It allows single missions off the boat (also on add-on terrains that have NA coding statements) But starting off, maybe SF2E, then plane jane SF2 (as many terrains still reference the items from the desert.cat), then SF2V and SF2I at the last. And don't forget Expansion Pack 1 & 2 that add a lot of goodies!
  16. that's the beauty of the SF2 system -- you screw something up, save what isn't broke, and delete the rest. Then let the exe rebuild a new mods folder
  17. unfortunately, I haven't learned MAX yet, even though I have 2009. BUT.. I can sure pass that along to the modeler!! It'll save time from using the LOD viewer AND! I figured out my issue with the engine nacelles -- that hit box goes into the ENGINE section, not the component listing section!! Who'd thunk it!!
  18. File Name: XvT/BoP Alliance Mission Set: Lost Missions, Part 3 File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 20 January 2016 File Category: Star Wars Games XvT/BoP Alliance Mission Set: Lost Missions, Part 3 12/18/2015 A New Task Force: Alliance Intelligence has gathered information about a new Imperial operation. A Star Destroyer is rallying starships together to form an alternate task force against the Alliance. Despite Darth Vader’s opposition to this, the plan is being implemented by the Imperial Admiralty. While the main part of the Imperial Navy focuses on hunting the Alliance elsewhere in the Galaxy, Red Squadron is assisting a small fraction of the Alliance in surviving Imperial attacks, and is carrying the battle to them. These are to be used/placed into your ...Balance of Power/Combat folder. All missions have been edited for fairness & balance (hopefully!), due the the enhanced AI and weapons effectivness in XvT/BoP. All have new briefings and descriptions. I've added LOTS of radio messages to act as "in game hints" and to further plot lines. Please pay attention to them, as some may save your life or your mission critcal craft. As always, =PLEASE= read the install instructions. Of course, the usual "Notes" and other nonesense. The original readme is included for historical purposes, and contains short descriptions of the mission (some of which have been changed) and the original backstory. Unfortunately, there was no name attached to these, so proper credit can't be given. My apologies to the original author. Wrench Kevin Stein original set for XWCD by ??? circa 2001 or 2014?? 19. You're very welcome I hope I've made sense out what was trying to be said/done in these.
  20. save what you can (aircraft, terrains, decals, effecs, etc), then delete that mods folder, and start fresh. Hit the exe again, and let it rebuilt a new. Tat's the only real sure fire way to fix the issue. THEN, and only then, start adding whichever objects are called for. ALWAYS read an add-on terrains readme, most will usually tell you whats required
  21. that happens on a LOT of 'user made" naval maps; I've been trying to figure out why for the last 3 years!! (OTH, perhaps it's trying to replicate Elric's "ship(s) that sail over land and sea"?
  22. you got it brother! I've already moved the other 2, but left the linkey thing here in this Forum
  23. Planet Nine: A New Addition to the Solar System?

    Lecteroids from Planet 10???
  24. NP, brudda! don't forget, the Gulf of Siam would be a Japanese lake, as they launched the Malayan invasion from the region (with Thailand as their ally). Laos, Cambodia, and both Vietnams would be neutral, as they're all (Vichy) French Indo-china Well, not exactly neutral, but up until 1943-ish when Imperial forces told the French they were taking over. The VNSEA map is exceedingly poor for this, unless one is trying to replicate the Franco-Thai war of 40-41. Even with minimal naval action (coastal and riverine perhaps?) It's just too small
