Weird problem when download a add on planes
Wrench replied to matanbar123's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
the picture linked is pretty useless, as just WHAT item(s) in question are not being pointed out. the "square bars" on the side of the HUD is a pitch ladder, for up and movements. Usually, across the top there is sometimes a heading scale (compass degrees). Sometimes that may only be a digital readout being a modder has nothing to do with being able to read the instruments. KNOWING what the displays are (or should be) is the question. your linked image clearly shows both the pitch ladder AND the heading scale on the HUD. The only thing I see missing (and if the image had been zoomed in closer to JUST show the HUD, we could see more -- and tell us WHICH aircraft--) is a gunsight So, what exactly IS the question? -

what exactly are you trying to say??? Your statements make no sense ADI don't show degrees; they're for pitch. Are you asking about a compass (ie: heading) -
. may it rest in piece

SF2 1950s USMC AD-6 (A-1H) Skyraider Skin Pack
Wrench posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
File Name: SF2 1950s USMC AD-6 (A-1H) Skyraider Skin Pack File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 14 December 2015 File Category: A-1 SF2 1950s USMC AD-6 (A-1H) Skyraider Skin Pack 12/13/2015 = For SF2 (or Any & All =at= Full- Merged) = *Note: must have SF2:V as part of your merged install to access the A-1H aircraft itself.* The package represents USMC AD-6 (A-1H) Skyraider squadrons of the mid-1950s. Included in this set are skins for: VMA-212 VMA-333 VMA-225* VMA-251* *Note: In Real Life service, these 2 squadron used AD-4B (and AD-5) aircraft, but as there is little difference between the marks, for gaming purposes, are used with the AD-6/A-1H. (they =CAN= be added to the "SF2 AD-4B Skyraider, KAW Era" mod here at CA, but you'll have the blue drop tanks on your grey/white skins, but that DID happen in Real Life. Or one can hand-load the 'white' drop tanks.) All aircraft use a pool of modex and BuNums, with individual air group letters. In this respect, they should be considered "generic" in nature. All markings, excepting special squadron paint schemes (VMA-225 only) are decals. All skin maps are in jpg format. Decal randomizaion is TRUE. For those squadrons that are listed in the stock 3w "squadronlist.ini", a decal is used to activate the squadron name display on the loadout screen. Reminder: nothing is included herein that makes them Player Flyable. There is a superb cockpit by Dels you should have already! If you don't, what ARE you waiting for?? :) As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them .... Happy Hunting! I'm pretty sure TOD objects (trees and buildings) can only be added via the 3w terrain editor. As these are "built in" to the tiles. Otherwise, one would need the skins and lods (or whatever 3d item is used) for the TOD buildings and the 2 types of trees resident within the terrain's main folder. THEN they can be added to the _targets and _types ini. Sounds like way too much work... Unless a separate TOD generator is created... -

XvT/BoP Alliance Mission Set: TROJAN SQUADRON 11/11/2015 (works with original CD version and new GoG version) For XvT =w/Bop= Addon, or GoG version (as the B-Wing is needed, & missions are saved in BoP format) Operating from a secure base deep in Alliance held territory, Trojan Group conducts highly specalized infiltration missions. With several ex-Imperial or Old Republic starships, it is a highly mobile force ready to strike deeper into Imperial space than any other unit. IMPORTANT NOTE: while this is a Rebel Alliance mission set (and labeled as such), because of HOW it's set up, you'll =ONLY= be able to fly this with your Imperial pilot. While I'm sure you could add these to the rebel.lst, during testing I experienced MAJOR failures of the game. So, for saftey's sake, be an Imp for these. Create a new pilot if necessary (reccomended). These missions are to be used/placed into your ...Balance of Power/Combat folder. Most of these missions have additional goals, LOTS of radio messages (which are often used as in-game hints), and "eye candy" added. They have been converted & almost completely rebuilt from their TFCD origins. Several use classic Sci-Fi Easter Eggs. See if you can find them!! As always, PLEASE read this enclosed readme for full, detailed install instructions. Give the "Notes" & "Story" sections a read too for notes and background information! Good Hunting! possible mismatch in aerodynamic statements for left/right wing, (flaps, lift numbers, etc) landing gear not matching (possibly rolling coefficient, shock strokes, rolling radius, etc) possible issue with lod; when mirroring the one side to create the other, sometimes the don't lineup (but I don't think that might be case--that's more of a decal/skin thing any aircraft in particular? -- you can name them, it's alright -
yes, they did get the plane wrong. you'd think with CGI they'd get it right...

F-106 aircraft and cockpit MAX file question.

there may be something happening along this front. be paitent -
shouldn't be an issue, as long as the desert.cat is in your FE2 core install (a simple copy/paste to the core install's /Terrains folder) what I don't remember is if it covers, historically, enough area for that time frame

Wrench replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - World War II Forum
although the folder structure is pretty much the same from 1stGens, the LOCATION isn't. And you WILL need to create some new folders in the mods folder for some of the items. also, read the "creating a year/theatre specific install" -- should be pinned at the top of the forum and, just as important -- you'll need access to the DAT site for 75-85% of the WW2 aircraft (good luck!) any questions, ASK!! :) -
XvT/BoP Independant Operation: Privateer Assault

File Name: XvT/BoP Independant Operation: Privateer Assault File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 06 December 2015 File Category: Star Wars Games XvT/BoP Independant Operation: Privateer Assault 11/20/2015 For XvT =WITH= BoP addon (original CD**) or the new GoG version This 6 mission set centers on a small group of privateers, working for the Rebel Alliance at the borders between Imperial, the Corporate Sector Authority, and Alliance controlled/contested space. You are tasked with harrassing Imperial and Corporate assets and disrupt shipping vital to the Imperial war effort. And to make a profit all at the same time! You'll be attacking said assets, capturing shipping (and reselling said ships), and so forth. These are to be used/placed into your ...Balence of Power/Combat folder. All missions have been edited for fairness & balance, due the the enhanced AI and weapons effectivness in XvT/BoP. All have new briefings and descriptions where needed. I've added LOTS of radio messages to act as "in game hints" and to further plot lines. Please pay attention to them, as some may (will) be quite funny. As always, =PLEASE= read the install instructions. Of course, the usual "Notes" and other nonesense, for the backstory and further details. The original reamed is included for historical purposes. don't forget, even though "a good coat of paint hides a multitude of sins", a skinner is only as good as the model itself. And it looks GREAT!!!
