  1. I'll bet those extra decals were NOT sitting in an aircraft specific folder, were they, but just in the root of the /Decals folder? This is why is so critical to follow the folder tree
  2. yes, the AF5 is a Quonset hut now, just square it off so it's right angles to the hanger (door pointing out, of course!)
  3. if it's the stock 3w pit, you shouldn't needed to have done anything! How odd!! or even the 3rd Party pit ... should have been a straight drop in. weeeeerrrrd!!! :)
  4. Repainting the infantry unit isn't a real problem. Wonder if we can't give the troops a "fire fighting gun" like an extinguisher? Maybe with a white or red tracer? CL brought up a good point in his post above ... the 'contain and flank' procedure for fighting the fire. Unfortunately, the Game Engine ™ doesn't really allow that. We only have 2 mission statements that allow for ground attack on moving "enemies" -- CAS and Armed Recon. And one has to drop the "retardant" directly onto the "fire" (after all it only LOOKS like a fire, it's really acting as a tank or truck). And if any trucks remain in the mods folder, you'll be seeing them on the armed recon, and have only "retardant" to hit them with**. Also, if one wants of just fly around and look at things -on YOUR side-, CAP is the only statement -- but you'll get a mission fail if you don't shoot down an enemy A/C. RECON missions only allow you to "look" at the enemy side Don't forget, that ALL aircraft will be unarmed; all guns will be removed from their data inis. All aircraft NOT civil types (transports, the fire fighters, etc) are to be removed from the mods folder. The only "offensive" weapons carried will the be water/retardant "bombs" (actually a rocket) Same goes for ground objects with offensive weapons. Given the massive limitations of the game engine with regards to mission types, I'm beginning to wonder how I'm going to pull this off. A very large series of canned missions is starting to look more and more like the only way to go. Which means I'll have to learn how the mission builder works (finally!). Game generated single missions will be, well, interestering at best. But as terrain work progresses, I'll be testing a much as possible **if trucks have their GroundObjectRole= set to RECON, they shouldn't show in AR or CAS missions
  5. having driven many a tent peg in my younger days ... it was the first thing that came to mind (and having worked on concrete floors all my life -- I know how hard it is to hammer something into it) OTH, replacing the tents with something like a Nissen or Quonset hut would be a viable alternative

  7. you can't size is fixed by the game's dlls, irrc edit: correction study an avionics ini from an aircraft with a HUD; there IS a size statement
  8. why would someone pitch a tent on concrete? (and HOW would they drive the stake and pegs? ) I'd suggest moving it off, and onto the grass, and "squaring" it the concrete pad. you also might want to turn on the shadows in your game settings; it helps with the "look" of things, especially when taking screen shots.
  9. There is NO comparison .. I've looked at all three versions .. YAP DAT and this one send the other's the breaker's yards, boyos. THIS one sets the standard

  14. File Name: SF2 HS-748/Andover CC.2 by Veltro2K File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 24 September 2015 File Category: Other SF2 HS-748/Andover CC.2 by Veltro2K 9/23/2015 For SF2 (Full 4/5 Merged Reccomended) A remod of Veltro2k's HS-748 turbo-prop transport (Andover CC.2) & airliner for SF2 usage. This is the complete aircraft, with everything needed. All sounds, decals, etc are supplied. The data ini has had some adjustment to the FM; while not perfect, it flys quite well for a transport. The skin is in jpg format, and represents No. 32 Sqdn (TR) of the RAF. All markings are decals; 18 serial number decals are supplied. Decal randomization is TRUE. Also included is my HomeGrown ™ template, for those that might want to create other uses skins. The included Userlist ini has the major military users, but might need further expansion. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! Also, as usual, give the "Notes" section a read, too. Happy Landings! MiG-25PD Foxbat-E LARAF Mod A Stand-Alone aircraft for SF/WoV/WoE/WoI This package will create a complete 'nation specific' aircraft; the MiG-25PD as used by the Libyan Air Force. To make installation as simple as possible, EVERYTHING is included; the complete aircraft, cockpit folder (based off Paladrin's work, as included in the original Foxbat Pack), all the inis, skin, etc. New serial number decals have been created, using the best intell possible; some are speculative, but based from known sources. Included in the data ini are my lighting fixes, as seen on the CA Message Boards. It is set up to use either of the weapons paks; the Bunyap Pak or Mirage Factory. If using the BunyPak, no additional work is required; unzip and fly away! For those using the TMF Pak, I've included an alternate Loadout.ini, that using the same NATO style naming conventions for the Soviet/WarPac weapons (See Install Instruction below). The data ini is already set for "WP,SOVIET", so you should encounter NO problems in that respect. As it is a complete aircraft, it also be usable in WoI, I've tested it in ALL iterations of the game, it works just fine. (See NOTES below for more) For WoI users: If you haven't added the R-40 missiles, as per the WoI Loadouts Thread at CombatAce, you WILL be adding these, so get your Weapons Editor warmed up!! Remember -- use the WoI ONLY WepEditor!!! Included are new Hangar and Loading screens; 2 Hangars actually, one is SF/WoV/WoE setup, and one for WoI. PLEASE!!! read the enclosed readme for full, detailed install instructions, and the usual Notes and Commentaries. Happy Hunting!! Wrench Kevin Stein

  19. Decieded to scrap the Guppy, and just (re)do another of the Skyraiders, so now there's 2 (H & J). A pity, as I had some nice eyeball decals to put on the radome... anyway, here's the H done up for Hemet Valley Flying Services, and a C-119 that Florian sent me the other day. The regular 119s (HVFS) are all done, too. They just don't have the top mounted J-47
  20. why work so hard, when it's already been done for you?? http://combatace.com/files/file/13246-sf2-aaa-pack-redux/ folks need to start using the SEARCH function
  21. true, but that can be dealt with in MAX by reshaping the meshes out to match the profiles. I have MAX, but don't know how to use it. Hopefully, after the New Year (and eye fully healed and new glasses), I'll look at the local colleges for a class on it. the lack of a proper side-by-side pit is the killer. At least with the Guppy, Del's superb pit can be reused (albeit without radar) hmmm... Great Pumpkin artwork on the dome??? .... don't tempt me! LOL!!
