  1. just so you all might want to know, a version 3.5 of the WW2 New Guinea map has been uploaded. http://combatace.com/files/file/13881-ww2-pto-new-guinea-terrain-for-sf2/ did some clean up, and target enhancements. It's designed to replace or you can just drop it over your existing NG map. enjoy!
  2. File Name: WW2 PTO New Guinea Terrain for SF2 File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 06 March 2013 File Category: Full Terrains New Guinea, WW2 PTO Terrain for SF2 (Ver.3.5) 8/6/2014 - For SF2, Any & All (Full-4/5 Merged Reccomended) = For Adventures in the South West Pacific = **This is Version 3.5, with additional goodies. It's designed to replace all eariler versions. If you have the other versions, you can either unzip and drop directly over your existing, or delete the older versions, and just use this one. No harm will befall you if you just Overwrite your existing New Guinea WW2 Terrain. Really.** Be advised, this NEW terrain folder still retains the same name as all the originals, "NewGuinea2". There many new GroundObject and Terrain Objects included in this terrain mod. All (if not most of) other Ground Objects you should already have. Those from the v.3 are still included. New Target Areas have been added . See the "Notes" section for the change list. The LimitedNations statement is set to TRUE, allowing only for 'regional powers', but has been expaned to include RNZAF and ML-KNIL forces. The terrain also makes use of the 'AllowedDates" statement, preventing use BEFORE January 1942. Geophysical Disclaimer: some rivers and other water features may not follow their Real Life ™ courses, or be placed in their Real Life ™ locations. Several cities and other physical features may also fall into that classification. Some cities exist only as 'named places'. As is reccomended, unzip this archive to a temp folder or your desktop, and you'll have access to the rest of the readme for it's instructions. It's reccomended you -read- the document through after unzipping, but =BEFORE= installing. As always, the Notes and Other Nonesense section may make for entertaining reading. Please also read the New Standard Usage Discalimer, as it's been changed slightly to reflect a change in my policy. It's listed at the bottom, in the Legal Statement Section, with the URL back to the CA post. 3. Version 3.5 uploaded lots of little and large changes. Designed to just drop over your original or 3.0 versions. See readme for changes and stuff like that there Enjoy!!
  4. indeed, I remember when Coupi, Veltro and I were doing the new 262, the S-99 was discussed. Even the 2 seater. Veltro probably has the MAX files still. Converting Veltro's would just be a matter of reskinning and redecaling As for the S-92, there's Monty's, and the DLC versions. Both (or either!) easily converted
  5. you mean 'respotting the deck'. take off ops, all were spotted aft landing ops, all spotted forward for more, I'd recommend watching "The Fighting Lady" (about CV-10 USS Yorktown), or for post war, in particular Korea, Bridges of Toko-Ri for gaming purposes, I'd only spot 3-4s slot MAX!! just abaft of the island (also depending if the 5" turrets are there -expecially for WW2), on the starboard side. Leave as much open space as possible. Make the assumption (oh! that word!!) the others have been struck below to the hangar deck
  6. as with all 3w games 1st or NextGens, and oddly enough!, loading screen images go in the /Flight folder all others go in the /Menu folder
  7. Hoot Hoot!!! (chugga-chugga, chugga-chugga!!) -- couldn't resist!! thanks Monty!!
  8. by not looking in the downloads sections, or the GroundObjects folder of the games?
  9. in the case of ships, it's really not required to have the effect named, as the ship's data ini will supply the information. That's just left over from 1stGens. I've have used several that don't have the statements, and still emit smoke when docked. ============= if the train is a moving object (ie: GroundObject), what about using the "WheeledVehicleDustEmitter", and setting it's position to the smokestack?
  10. Robin Williams Found Dead!

that much more laughter, has just left the world. how sad...
  11. IS that SF2:Vietnam?

    that's a painting, not a screenie
  12. I think I've figured out how to at least simulate it for the PTO (well, SoWesPac) players. my testing has been pretty good against various types of ships, but I'd like some of you all the have a wack at it. Mind you, the new Veltro B-25s for SWP WILL be equipped for it, and have a year and mission specific loadout already 'built in' when they're released. I've also tested it on the DAT Havocs, and it works the same. So, any volunteers? I'll attach the new weapon, with instructions on how to modifiy the aircraft data ini to make loadable (as it's no longer really a bomb)
  13. true. haven't figured out WHY!! Stupid **@!!*ers!! LOL!!! iirc, I added the CruiseMissile AI statements. If you can figure out, man, that'd be GREAT!!! Fix whatever needs doing!! :)
  14. a simple text edit to add the SF2 FX shader statements. don't remember them off the top of my head, but extract any of the SF2 effects inis, and you'll see them. -------- edit: these 2 for certain: EffectShaderName=effectLightLevel.fx EffectShaderName=effectFire.fx -------- converting the ships is also easy. You need the ***_col.lod (created by making a copy of the ships main lod, and renaming), and adding the SF2NA statements to the data ini. Again, any of the SF2 WW2 ships can be used as a guide
  15. sorry, I don't remember the camera view thingy! I know there's a way, but can't remember (old age, ya know!!) === the Caviar Black 1T is my main drive; it replaced the original when it died. 5 year warranty can't be beat (and having EXTRA large externals is a must, just for standard backing ups -- I need a new one, as my 1t external is nearly full)
  16. ONLY 60gigs? I have ONE mods folder of that size, and it's probably larger. To say nothing of the other 8 .... Might be time to invest in a 1 terabyte (or larger) HD. The WD Caviar Black 1t I bought 2 years ago for 120 USD is not 70 USD at Best Buy. -------------------- I don't thing the game will read dds decals. The engine is set up for tgas.. However, it costs nothing to test the conversion

  20. yup lots use DDS. The lod just has to be built for it!!
  21. File Name: SF2 WW2 PTO B-25C Mitchell, No 18 Squadron (NEI) File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 08 August 2014 File Category: B-25 SF2 WW2 PTO B-25C Mitchell, No 18 Squadron (NEI), RAAF 7/30/2014 -- Something for the WW2 PTO players -- = For SF2 ONLY, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) = A mod of Veltro2k's B-25C Mitchell Bomber, for use in Australia/East Indies region of WW2. This package can be used on one of two ways: As a stand-alone "nationalized" aircraft. Which this package is; the complete aircraft. Or, as a skin for use on Veltro2k's B-25C (bomber) Mitchell. If you don't have it already, you can get the aircraft at the following URL: http://combatace.com/files/file/14905-sf2-ww2-pto-b-25cd-mitchell-pak/ This skin represents early Mitchell (C models) bombers as used by No. 18 Squadron (Netherlands East Indies), RAAF. Meaning, these were destined for ML-KNIL usage, but after the Fall of the NEI to Japanese forces, were delivered to Australia in early/mid 1942, and the Squadron formed up under RAAF jurisdiction. They did, however, still carry the NEI marking through their entire service lives. All markings are decals, and serial numbers are 100% historical for C/D Mitchells used by 18 Squadron. Decal randomization is TRUE. No weapons, guns, etc are included. Nor is the Kesselbrut pit with working bomb sight. This uses the 'generic' bomber cockpit. Sounds, pilot figures, and nation specific hangar screen are. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. =PLEASE= read them!!! If used correctly, on the WW2 Darwin map, you'll need to make a small edit in the Darwin_Nations.ini. Insturctions are in the "Notes" section. Also, instructions for easy use on the standard B-25C_v2k. Happy Landings!! Wrench Kevin Stein Click here to download this file

A-1J "Skyraider" Skin and Ini Update Pak -- For FULL-4 Merged SF2 (Prefered) and/or SF2:V =ONLY=!!! This package contains inis, full skin and decals sets, a few weapons and a complete cockpit, to make the stock AI-only A-1J "Skyraider" flyable. While the cockpit is not 100% correct (or, more truthfully, close), it does have all the gauges working as they would be in a propeller aircraft. Until such time a a proper AD-7/A-1J pit arrives, this WILL have to suffice. Ini edits include some enhanced AI statements, corrected ammo counts, fuel quantity, on-board countermeasures (chaff and flares for Vietnam era usage) the addition of the running/formation lights on the tail, a landing light, and a working canopy (use Shift/0 to open and close). Wingfold is NOT activated, due to odd movement and placement issues with the outer wing stores locations. At some point in the future, I'll try and get them dailed in properlly, so the wingfold will work and the weapons follow the wing. A new 300 gallon drop tank has also been included, as the LOD lacks the nodes for built-in drop tanks as seen on other SF2 aircraft (even though called out in the data ini, it just ain't there!). And just for extra added enjoyment, the "Special Weapon", as used by VA-25 is also included. Yup, the world (in)famous Toilet Bomb. A new SF2-style hangar screen, and a new loading screen are also included. All decals are new, with correct Modex, squadron codes and BuNums. It should be noted, that in Vietnam era squadrons (and possibly before) most Skyraider units used a mix of AD-6/7 (or A-1H/J after 1961), so these may not be fully historical, as the BuNums reflect only the one type (AD-6 or A-1H) per squadron. But the BuNums ARE 100% accurate for the models they indicate; and in the cases where photos or profile were available, the actual aircraft represented. Skins included in this set are: VA-25 "Fist of the Fleet", USS Coral Sea, 11/1966 VA-115 "Arabs", USS Kitty Hawk, 3/1966 VA-145 "Swordsmen",USS Intrepid 9/1967 VA-152 "Wild Aces", USS Oriskany, 8/1965 The new "A-1J.INI" has been edited to move these new skins to the top, and the original 3W "USNGray1" and "USAFCAmo1" to the bottom, making it easier to select the USN/USMC marked skins. As always, READ the enclosed readme for full, detailed instructions. This package has been broken down into the various folders that SF2 needs/requires, to make it a LOT easier to install. Good Hunting! Wrench Kevin Stein oppsy edit! I had H, when I meant J!!! Sorry! -w
  24. yes, screenshots of the offending region are QUITE helpful. So is including the X/Y coordinates of said region (from the HUDData.ini in Debug mode) without that information, it's IMPOSSIBLE to run down the supposed error
