SF2 Small Cargo Ship (Soviet/Russian) 7/2/2014 = For SF2, Full 5 Merged RECCOMENDED! = **Note: This mods uses SF2NA style coding for the ship, included the Col lod, radar statements and so forth. You SHOULD be adding this to a FUll-5 Merged install for proper operation. This mod was built and tested in the SF2NA environment.*** This is a modification to Stephan1918's VERY cool First Eagles cargo ship. This ship has been reflagged for Soviet use. It's operational dates are 1918-2050, so it should cover all time frames. This is very similiar to what I did for the WW2 versions, seen in both the Atlantic and Pacific. This'll add yet another target for Auntie Ship mission. Be advised -- it's bites back! I've given it a 'generic' name as "MV North Star Class Cargo Ship". I've tried to keep it dissimiliar from other Soviet Cargo ships available in other mods (hence the folder being called "SovCargoShip"). As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. As mentioned above, give the "Notes" section a read too. Happy Sailing! Wrench Kevin Stein -
SF2 WW2 CBI Vickers Wellington Mk.X

File Name: SF2 WW2 CBI Vickers Wellington Mk.X File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 05 July 2014 File Category: Other SF2 WW2 CBI Vickers Wellington Mk.X 7/5/2014 -- Something for the CBI players -- = For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) = *There is a probability that this mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs, due to the excessive modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment.* **Note: These aircraft should =ONLY= be used in a seperate CBI-centric mods folder to prevent them from showing up where, historically, they shouldn't. The Aircraft/GroundObject sets for CBI are substantially different from Central or SouthWest Pacific areas. Be advised, the actual India/Burma/SEA terrain has been greatly delayed due to "some issues". Eventually, I'll get back to it.** This pack contains a modifided/reskinned version of Veltro2K's Wellington for use in the Burma-India Theatre by the RAF. This is the complete aircraft. The unit represented is: No. 99 Sqdn "Madras Presidency" from June 1942 thru September 1944, when they requipped with Liberators. The skin remains in bmp format, and decal rendomization is TRUE. ALL markings are decals. Engine and other sounds are included. Bombs, pilot figures, guns are not; you should have these already. On the Aircraft Selection Drop-down, you'll see Wellington Mk. X (v2k) (even though there's only veltro's Wellingtons availalbe -- it's habit!) As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. Happy Hunting! Wrench Kevin Stein **The aircraft herein are released in "AS IS" Condition. The source files have been lost, and there can and WILL be no modifications to the physical model. They 'are as they is' and you must accept them with this caveat in mind. 4th FG P-51 Mustang (TW)
Wrench replied to amariani's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
nicely done however, all these Mustang packages could have been made CONSIDERABLY smaller by the following: 1) converting ALL skin maps to jpg. there's no need nowadays, and especially with SF2 to use bmp 2) delete the sm_*** skins. those are the specular maps, and are NOT needed for each skin, as the game engine will automatically use those from the Cat files 3) the white on the tail is too bright, I'd have used (and do) 10 or 15% grey, as is not so bright, giving a faded look. even on NM skins, it wouldn't be that stark a white. As these are all 8th AF FGs, it's not a terribly difficult task to match serials to plane-in-group letters. A bit time consuming, yes. But not hard at all. They are all readily available, and can be found here: http://www.littlefriends.co.uk/index.php broken down by fighter group, and within each group, by squadrons. One just needs to scroll through the listings, plane by plane (as many used P-47s, then P-51B/C, then Ds) to find the individual letter required. Then, just make the serial decals. I do it all the time!! 9th AF ones are the problem!! -
Super Entendard Cockpit Node names?
Wrench replied to Peugeot205's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
as there's no OUT file, you'll need to search within the lod with a hex editor. I'd use portugese as the language. I tried 'cockpit' in English, and nothing turned up. -
bump maps DH Venom
Wrench replied to slick cowboy's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
as Fubar said, bump mapping would be impossible on that, as the Lod dates from 2005 -
So you want to make a 3d object for Strike Fighters?
Wrench replied to FastCargo's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Knowledge Base
not sure how valid these might be (not being a 3D guy in any way, shape or form), but here's a link to the 3rd Wire exporter notes. Don't know if the exporter is included, but there's several people around here that have (may be available from the 3W site) http://combatace.com/files/file/344-3d-studio-max-exporter-notes/ good luck! we NEED new modelers! -

Experiencing Visual Anomalies with 3 aircraft In SF2.... Requesting help
Wrench replied to SkyStrike's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
double cockpit, a know issue with converted 1stGen aircraft we even have a post in our (exceedingly disused) Knowledge Base http://combatace.com/topic/58372-the-double-cockpit-issue/ the transparent nose issue looks like a decal problem --- too many on that one mesh. check the decals ini and see if there's more than 4 on that mesh. That, or more likely if you're missing a "fake pilot" add-on, like a modified nose with 'bird slicers' what avionics dll is listed in the main ini? (jas39.ini). In the avionics ini, are the HUD material statements SF2 compliant? -

Veltro2k WWII WIPS
Wrench replied to Veltro2k's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - World War II Forum
it should say so in the books I sent you. Check your PMs B/C/D had the remote turret from the factory, but a lot had the removed in theatre (especially in the Pacific). No tail turret that I know of until the G, just a glass blister I'll have t locate the Osprey MTO B-25 units book to see if they kept them in the Med. What I'd suggest, is have the lower hull smooth/flat, and have the turret thee, so if it was not used, simple 'remove component' statements could edit it off, and not leave a gaping hole below is how I did it for the DAT B-25B . you can see capon did the hull shape, with no recess for the turret when retracted -

"you should be" I didn't move to many cities, but quite a few airfields were 'relocated'. Of course, the targets within the cities were all replaced (industrial stuff and so forth) and expanded and the like I'd cross check to be sure. as I know little to nothing about campaign building....??? -

I used the search function and found the right off, bro! it's by scrapper ver 2.1: http://combatace.com/files/file/5128-fallen-angel-v21/ ver 3.0: http://combatace.com/files/file/5323-fallen-angel-mega-pack-v30/ the campaigns will need CONSIDERABLE reworking, what with the "new" builds and those items "unavailable to many" To say nothing of the complete and total rebuild of the EAW Euro terrain I've done since these came out in 2008-ish -

SF2 WW2 ETO, P-51B Mustang, 336th FS Skin Pak
Wrench posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
File Name: SF2 WW2 ETO, P-51B Mustang, 336th FS Skin Pak File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 30 June 2014 File Category: P-51 SF2 WW2 ETO, P-51B Mustang, 336th FS Skin Pak 6/28/14 = For SF2, (Full 5 Merged Reccomended/Prefered) = A new skin for ETO based P-51B (square canopy) Mustangs. This is for Wolf's Mustang, not any others. If you don't have the SF2 Uprated version of Wolf's P-51B, you get it at the following URL: http://combatace.com/files/file/13737-sf2-ww2-eto-p-51b-mustang-pak/ This skin represents aircraft from the 336th Fighter Squadron, 4th Figher Group, in 1944 (before D-Day, or after, assuming the Invasion Stripes are removed). The aircraft is finished standard OD/Grey, with white QIMs The skin is in jpg format, and is slightly revamped from earlier version, with new panel and rivet lines. All markings (excepting the QIMs and national markings) are decals. Decal randomization is TRUE. Serial numbers are 100% correct, and matched to the 'plane-in-group' letters, excpeting those marked with a star (*). Those aricraft DID serve in the 336, but I was unable to match the serials to any individual letter. There are NO nose arts, excepting Gentile & Godfrey's red checks, and Gentile's "Shangra-La". Others texture/decal artists are encouraged to do the leg/brain work if they wish to create others. Be advised, there may not be enough mesh positions for correct placements. Also, included is a modified loadout ini, as I'd originally inadvertently assigned the drop tanks to the wrong hardpoints! As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them .... Good Hunting! Wrench Kevin Stein (this is an expansion of the pack seen previously in the "Decals, How To?" discussion thread in the SF2 Mods/Skinning Forum. If you DID download that pack from the attachement in that thread, you are advised to DELETE the 336 skin and decals folders, as this WILL replace it) Click here to download this file -
