  1. File Name: SF2 WW2 PTO F4U-4 Corsair Pak (TMF/MM) Ver.2 File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 23 June 2014 File Category: F4U SF2 WW2 PTO F4U-4 Corsair Pak (TMF/MM) Ver.2 6/18/2014 = For SF2, (*FUll 5 Merged Reccomended*) = Designed for use =ONLY= in a stand-alone SF2NA-based WW2 PTO Mods Folder!!! ***Note: This pack replaces it total the TMF F4U-4 Corsair for WW2 that was released several years ago. If you have the original WW2 version in you PTO mods folder, you =MUST= delete the F4U-4's aircraft folder from your game -BEFORE- installing this version. There have been a NUMBER of changes, and having the original still around =will= cause conflicts. In particular, this mod makes use of the F4U-7.lod, with various components removed. You have been warned!! As this aircraft uses SF2NA coding for carrier operations, having a Full-5 Merged install is a reccomended requirement. Those that "disapprove" of using the -7 Lod are cordially invited, and encouraged, NOT to download this mod.*** This package contains an updated version of the WW2 TMF/MM F4U-4 Corsair, as seen during the Okinawa Campaign through the war's end. Unit(s) represented are: VBF-6 (aboard USS Hancock) VMF-222 "Flying Deuces" (Awase Field, Okinawa) All skins are in Jpg format, and decal randomization is TRUE. See 'Notes' for more details. Pilots and the drop tank are included, other weapons (guns, bumbs, et) you should have already. However, a new 'rocket rail' by Raven is. Included are several remodded weapons (new HVARs), and an updated TinyTim. In the loadout ini, there's a special "Anti-Ship_HR" (for Heavy Rocket) loadout that replaces the bombs with the Tiny Tims. Of course, one can always swap them out on the Loadout Screen. The canopy opens/closes with the Standard Animation Keystroke ™, Shift/0. Wingfold is controled by Shift/9. The aircraft is fully carrier capable, as per SF2NA, and now will appear on deck, properly parked with folded wings. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. It contains explinations and other items that might be interestering to know. Good Hunting! 2. Been several months since Daniel has been around. Just wondering how he's doing. Haven't seen him on FB either We had the Seafire IIIC nearly done, but the model I have right now needs some 3d work to fix the tail wheel. (and more Beaufighters to do, too!) Hope everything is ok with him!!
  3. Agreed! Well, I hope he sees this and lets us know how he' doing!
  4. Great White Sharks off of NJ

    cue music from Jaws
  5. bet you found some REAL interesting layers, eh? If you ask, I'll tell what the blue one with the white "bandage" stripes was for. hehehehehehehehehehe!!!!
  6. what, no X-4s??? the lines are still too prominent, need to be faded down more. Really like the mottle scheme, though!
  7. the new set (attachment removed above) has been uploaded to replace the original corrupted version. It's in the same thread n the SF/Wo* Skin Templates downloads.
  8. NP burdda! I assume for the J model?? let me zip it up, PM inbound soon
  9. would have been the Swallow's lunch. As a test bed, it was good. But that's about it. there's one (most likely the only survivor) about 40 miles east of me at the Chino Museaum. It's under restoration to flying status.
  10. I've got full complete sets of "blank" skins in OD and NM for the both the D and J Libs. Perhaps I should upload them. All the decal positions are plotted (for those that can actually READ a decal ini), so swapping out markings would be a no brainer
  11. File Name: SF2 WW2 CBI B-24J Liberator Pak File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 17 June 2014 File Category: B-24 SF2 WW2 CBI B-24J Liberator Pak by Veltro2K 6/10/2014 (Full 4/5 Merged Reccomended) This pack contains a Theatre Specfic version of Veltro2k's B-24J Liberator as seen in in the China, Burma, India Theatre. Be advised, that while there wasn't too much 'crossover' between the 10 AF in India and the 14th AF in China (and the RAF for that matter), for gaming purposes it won't matter much. You are advised, however, to have a seperate CBI mods folder (even though the new India/Burma/Indochina map is far from completed). The unit(s) represented herein are: 10th AF (India): 493rd BS, 7th BG (43/45, in OD/Grey) 14th AF (China): 374th BS, 308th BG (44/45, in NM) RAF (India/Burma): No. 99 Squadron "Madras Presidency" (Liberator GR.VI, late 44/45, in OD/Grey) Each of the skins will display their theatre association; B/I or C. The skins are in jpg format. All markings are decals (excepting the wing national markings and some squadron rudder markings). The serials, when carried, are 'generic' in nature, as they represent no particular unit, but ARE for the model variant depicted. Decal randomization is set to TRUE. 10th & 14th AF squadron numbering conventions (plane-in-group numbers) are used on these aircraft. There are NO nose arts. Other texture artists are encouraged to do the research, and create proper artwork decals. Weapons, pilot figures and guns are NOT included; you should have them already. However, the VB-1 "Azon" bomb is, as the 7th BG had specialy equipped aircraft for their usage. A "Strike_Azon" loadout has been setup, and is availalbe through the 3W Mission Editor. Or they can be hand-loaded. Be advised, the standard carry was 4 Azons, and handloading WILL overload the aircraft with 7. RAF units did NOT use Azons. The aircraft is also equipped with a ground mapping/surface search radar. Damage textures are in DDS format. When in game you'll see B-24J Liberator (v2k) This will differentiate this Lib from any others you may have (ie: Pasko's). As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! PLEASE read the "Notes" section for other important notations, in particular for in-game usage. Happy Landings Wrench Kevin Stein Click here to download this file
  12. Thanks Alfie! actually, it's 'gravity powered'. the smoke trail was for the bombardier to track it with, and steer by (in a limited arc. Azon means "Azimuth Only")
  13. ok. Buny's a I got!! (cause I counldn't find the templates for Del's Texan II) All my additional layers are intact in the zip below Be advised, the aircraft itself has many issues. It's just ooooooollllldddd.
  14. Geary, I'm still looking further question: is it the AT-6 (the Modern version), or the NAA T-6 of WW2 fame?
  15. FR, Gerwin's TFD tool will generate the water bmp. Then, it's a simple matter of "painting in" (in their proper colors) the CV Zones
  16. Nuke armed F-101s over Cuba

    great picture, too!!
  17. For those of you that may (or may not!) have been following the discussion on the prop issues on the TMF F4U Corsairs (in particular the -4 and -4B), a fix has been found. What that means is, that I'll be reissuing BOTH the full KAW set for those 2 models, and the WW2 version of the -4. These WILL replace, it total, the original versions, as it'll referene the -7s lod (the AeroNaval version). With some obvious modification (read: component removals and such) So, sometime next week, if all goes well, I'll be uploading new sets. Unfortunately, you'll be deleting the original aircraft folder. The decals will be the same, and will be included in the new package. So, when installing just allow the overwrite of the various Decals folders. The first one out will be the F4U-4 for WW2 PTO, as it only has 2 skins to redo. An unexpected side effect of the switch, is NOW the wings are folded when sitting of the roof of the boat. VERY cool!! (and finally!!) With special thanks to Malibu43 for rattling the dust in my rafters and getting me to think of viable alternatives, that don't require locating a MAX file that probably doesn't exist anymore. So, watch the SF2 announcements Forum for when they're released
  18. Good for you then. Nobody's asking you to download the fixed, working carrier based versions, IF and when I choose to upload them. and a free piece of advice ... pipe down
  19. Malibu, be advised the "Guest7" that responded to you post on the 3W forums was Rhuzio. Just ignore him
  20. File Name: SF2 A-4E Skyhawk, VMA-211 "Wake Island Avengers" Skin/Decal Pak File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 19 June 2014 File Category: A-4 SF2 A-4E Skyhawk, VMA-211 "Wake Island Avengers" Skin/Decal Pak 6/17/2014 = For SF2 (Any & All, Full-5 Merged Prefered) = A new skin for VMA-211; this is inspired by a request by a CombatAce member that used to work for them. Also, it allows us to have a fully updated SF2 version of a skin set originally by Paul "FOTF" Nortness, that now longer works in SF2. This is for the standard, or garden variety A-4E Skyhawk (no *year" suffix). However, they can be used on the 65, 67 and possibly on the A-4F by renaming the maps to match to lod's naming convention. All new decals, excepting one left over from the 1stGen skin, were created for this mod. The skin maps themselves are in jpg format. ALL markings are decals. Decal randomization has been set to "TRUE". Also included is my modified Loadout ini, that has "increased" striking power for all mission statements. My Data ini is also included, that adds the Landing Light, and opening canopy (Standard Animation Keystroke, Shift/0). When on the Loadout Screen, in the "Paint Scheme" dropdown, you'll see: VMA-211 "Wake Island Avengers" (FOTF) The Stock 3W skin is still available, but is accessed from the Unit Selection dropdown. This one should not conflict with the stock one. At least it didn't for me during testing. The (FOTF) is a nod to Paul, as part of the inspiration to rebuild this to the lastest spec (and that I reused on of his decals, albeit slightly modified). As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them .... Happy Landings! Wrench Kevin Stein EDIT: a small oopsy! I uploaded the wrong zip, that was an earlier test version. This has been corrected, and the zip contains the correct decals and the repositioned badges. My apologies to all. Unfortunately, you'll have to redown this mod. When installing, just allow the overwrite Click here to download this file

  23. from The Avengers, and what few pics I've seen online, it's just a different USA style marking; can't remember what they had on the tail for serials and such maybe this might help http://th07.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/f/2012/146/4/a/s_h_i_e_l_d__f_35b_lightning_ii_png_by_bagera3005-d4yzp69.png sorry it's not very large of course, HOW would we build the heli-carrier!!!?????
  24. yes, indeed. However, each of the skin maps have to be renamed to match the lod. For instance, A-4E_65_nose.jpg, and so on you can leave the decals ini alone, as it will automatically "look" in the right place. Some might need a little moving fore or aft, but that's relatively easy
  25. yes indeed! on the -1D, -7, -5. also on these (-4s) using the -7 lod, too
