  1. NOTHING goes into the core files (C:\Program Files (x86)\ThirdWire) except official 3W patches and 3W DLC addons. So to answer the question, yes you're putting them in the wrong place! from the SF2 Knowledge Base: http://combatace.com/topic/62302-what-is-the-mod-folder/
  2. SAAAAAAAAAAAA wwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee TTTTT gerwin rulez
  3. are these your decals (ie: made by you?) try switching to the stock 3W borts (there are blue ones, too) if it still bleeds with the stock decals, you have an open mesh. nice idea ... carrier based mig-15.
  4. without the OUT, it's one at at time Even with the OUT, and they're named "oddly", you have to read it like a tree, with the expanding branches, and try to use some logic to see where the child meshes attach to the parent (in this case and most, fuselage) Been there, done that.
  5. File Name: SF2 WW2 ETO Short Stirling Tweeks Pak File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 28 March 2014 File Category: Other SF2 WW2 ETO Short Stirling Tweeks Pak 3/26/2014 -- Something for the WW2 ETO players -- = For SF2 ONLY, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) = Some tweeks for Veltro2K's recently released Stirling Mk.I. What this pack does, is activate ALL the included Squadron Code decals by creating skin folders for those squadrons. If you don't have it already, you can get the aircraft at the following link: http://combatace.com/files/file/14668-short-stirling-mk1/ (in other words, install the aircraft 1st, THEN this Tweeks Pack) As the decals and the ini in the above release are set up for the as-yet-to-be-released ETO All Inclusive mod by the DAT, we are missing the necessary files to create the selection drop down to choose which squadron gets what. This mod creates new skin folders, albeit with the original skin maps (more on that later), and activates the squadron code decals for the following RAF Bomber Command units: No. 7 Squadron No. 15 Squadron No. 75 "New Zealand" Squadron (original NCamo skin) No. 90 Squadron No. 149 "East India" Squadron No. 214 "Federated Malay States" Squadron No. 218 "Gold Coast" Squadron The Squadron crest for each is used for the 'color patch' as seen on the Loadout Screen. My (patent pending) "Box Art" Hangar and Loading screens are included, as are new DDS damage textures. You will be moving (read: copy/paste) the original skin maps to the MAIN aircraft folder (ala Brain 32's trick). As all BC aircraft of the time were painted the same, this creates no issues. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them after unzipping, but BEFORE installing, and FOLLOW them exactly as I've written them!!! Caveat: BE ADVISED, THIS MOD IS =NOT= TO BE USED WHEN THE DAT RELEASES THEIR ETO PAK. IT IS DESIGNED FOR USE ONLY BY THOSE END USERS ™ THAT CANNOT ACCESS THEIR DOWNLOADS. IT IS DESIGNED FOR USE IN A STANDARD OR "GARDEN VARIETY" WW2 ETO MODS FOLDER, =NOT= FOR THEIR ALL-INCLUSIVE MOD. Happy Landings!! Wrench Kevin Stein Click here to download this file

  7. you can't make an OUT; that's only generated by MAX. what the Search does, is give you mesh names, if said name are "known" (or guessed at)
  8. XVI 32 is what I use. since I made my post above, I've been looking 'into' the lod, trying to figure it out. Not one of the 'usual suspect' is showing up (boom, probe, refuel, etc) animation-wise, it's definitely linked to the landing gear (it extends when the gear retracts), but doesn't help with removing it. At first I thought it might not be in English, but "left" and "wing" and "fuselage" all show up.
  9. hex editor not working? open the lod in a hex editor, and search for the obvious names
  10. while browsing my archives, in search of the RT-33A Shooting Star (in answer to a query in acesfakia's thread), I came across what I believe is a partly completed NEW Hawker Sea Fury. Below is a screenie of the storage folder. Does anyone remember WHO had built this, and was anything further every done with it?? It appears to be skinned, bump mapped, but I have to other inis or other goodies. Any information would be greatly appreciated!! thanks!
  11. okee dokee! then I'll assemble a pack with EVERYTHING, and release it
  12. And With That..........

we (Pat and I) feel for you loss. may he rest well
  13. that's a shadow issue caused by running at Unlimited. It's a know issue with TOD objects
  14. are the mirage skins jpg or bmp? either way, try resizing them down one level (to 2048x) and retest (maybe back up the 4096s first) ------------------------ the 80% freeze is VERY common on terrains with lots of Ground & Terrain objects, and hi-rez tiles. I've experienced it several of my terrains, even with standard sized tiles. So, it's most likely related to the objects being loaded.
  15. More FE Ground Objects

I'm drooling over these ... thinking of how many I can import to SF2, for my WW2 mods. Some of those building will be perfect for the upcoming CBI map!! Great work Geezer!!
  16. Stary did a FANTASTIC job it (and he says it not perfect!!) wheel turns, move fore and aft, rudder pedal and throttles move. the only thing missing is the 'night binoculars' mount, but this ain't the real world, so... The SCR-720 actually has the correct ranges (not like those I've used for Coca's Beaufighters). When researching, found all kinds of manuals online. Added them to the collection!! And learned an awful lot about WW2 electronics
  17. 2 shots normal view (as you'd see whilst sitting there) zoomed out, so you can see the sides layout right from the manuals
  18. File Name: SF2 WW2 SEAC Bristol Beaufighter NF Mk.1 (Late) File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 26 March 2014 File Category: Other SF2 WW2 SEAC Bristol Beaufighter NF Mk.1 (Late), v.9 by Cocas 3/26/2014 -- Something for the WW2 CBI/SEAC players -- = For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) = *This mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs, at any patch level. It was built for SF2 ONLY!!.* *Note x2: This mod represents late production Beau NF Mk.1s for South East Asia Command ONLY! This is a seperate version for CBI usage ONLY, as their start/end dates tend to differ. Meaning: for your CBI Mods Folder.* This here is a BRAND NEW aircraft, brought to you by Cocas Aircraft Factory & Co. . This package represents the late production Beaufighter NF Mk.1s. These marks =HAVE= the dihedral horizontal stabs (they point up). We are calling this "version 0.9", as there exists the possibility of more work being required. But, we wanted to get them out into the hands of our WW2 End Users ™ for their examination and so forth. This pack contains the following aircraft & skin/decal sets: Beaufighter NF Mk.1 (Night Fighter) in Standard SEAC Day Scheme, with Night Unders No. 176 Squadron (as seen at various airbase in East Bengal) The Squadron Crest is used as the paint chip seen on the Loadout Screen. Skins are in jpg format, as are the bump maps. Damage textures are in DDS. Everything is included, excepting the guns (you should have all these already). No bombs or rockets; these are NF Mk.1s, not equipped for them. However, I've allowed you other mission statements, in particular, Armed Recon. You've got plenty of 'gun power' for Truck Hunting. All markings are decals, and decal randomization is set to TRUE. It should be noted, that research has indicated varying numbers of NF Mk.1s arriving in India - some sources say 6, some 8, some 12. I've taken the lazy mans way out, and given you the 'generic' 26 plane-in-group letters. In Real Life ™, Mk. VI, Mk.X and TF Mk.X began arriving in theatre sometime in mid-late 1943. All serials, while correct for the variant depicted, should be considered 'generic' in nature, as they represent no specific aircraft with the units represented. When in-game, you'll see: Beaufighter NF Mk.I (Late) (CAF) for these aircraft. The "CAF" (for Cocas Aircraft Factory) will diferentiate these Beaus from any others you may or may not have. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please =READ= them BEFORE installing this mod!!!. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. Happy Hunting! 20. and more: skins are nowhere near done; no panels and rivets as yet. paint jobs are, decals are. and Star's pit is da Bomb!
  21. welcome to OUR world!!! the other 2 editors, as could see there, are the weapons and guns. Not sure if you'll be needing them just as yet!
  22. You damn right we will!!! Nothing I said was meant to stop you. Oli & Team did fantastic work. Best way to honor his memory, it to make better in any way possible. as for the other pits (NOT IIIE), using TK's is a simple matter of ini extraction and editing.
  23. re: RT-33A: so do I! Your's is probably better, Carlo. Want me to send what I have, and you see it (has a new hangar screen!)? located a archived KAW mods folder, and inside was a 'working' version of the Sea Fury (meaning: flyable). Oddly, I'd tagged the displayed name as "Sea Fury FB.11 (SB)", so that's gotta be Skippy Still need MORE work; wings don't fold, canopy doesn't open, lots and lots of little adjustments. Be nice to have it finished
