  1. did you copy/paste the alps off the sea1 tile, then paint in the black parts? That's the easiest way to do it! That leave the "sea" sections to match the open ocean, and neighboring transition tiles here's another desert sc25 port tile, and the 2 impounded docks are those in Calcutta (Kidderpur and King George's), in VNSEA for the ww2 east asia map (still very much on The Factory Floor at Magrethea)
  2. copy and paste the /Pilots FOLDER supplied with the mod, into the Objects/Pilots main folder basically, what I see happening here, is the original mod maker did NOT set thing up following the standard 3W folder structure below, is what your folder structure should look like. If it doesn't make it so!
  3. I'm still holding out for the Antarctic ...
  4. File Name: SF2 WW2 MTO USAAF P-40F Pak (Raven) File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 09 March 2014 File Category: P-40 SF2 WW2 MTO USAAF P-40F Pak 2/24/2014 -- Something for the WW2 MTO players -- = For SF2 ONLY, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) = *Note: this pak MAY be usable in 1stGen SF/Wo* game installs. However, some features (decal randomization and FM adjustments and several other things) will =NOT= be functional. Use in 1stGens has not, and cannot be, tested by me.* **Notex2: this mod is designed for use =ONLY= in a MTO-Centric mods folder** At first, I was just going to do a simple skin/decals pack. But with all the "modifications" made to fit into SF2 chose to take the "lazy man's way out" and am just uploading the entire aircraft. So, if you already have Raven's P-40F in your MTO-centric mods folder, best to back it up someplace. You can, of course, re-add any other skins at your convience. This is the full aircraft, with my 'tweeked' sf2-ish data ini. The skin included is for... 64th FS, 57 FG "Black Scorpions" as seen from late 1942 in North Africa. Skins remain in their bmp format. New DDS damage textures (usable on all Raven's Warhawk/Kittyhawk in SF2 only) are included! All markings are decals, and Decal Randomization is TRUE. There are no nose arts. Also, via the use of my (patent pending) fake "SqTail" decal, the squadron name display is now active on the Loadout Screen. No weapons are included, except an SF2 Version of the drop tank (for those that haven't converted it yet). New theatre-specific Hangar and Loading screens are included, too. Actually, you have 2 loadings screens to choose from. When in-game, on the aircraft selection drop-down, you'll see P-40F-5 CU (Raven) This will diferentiate this for any other Warhawks you may (or may not) have. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!! Good Hunting!! Wrench Kevin Stein Click here to download this file

  6. my advice also use 7z as you compresser of choice. it does a better (read: tighter/smaller) job then either RAR or regular zip another suggestion, is break into parts say, tiles in one (if retiled) 'terrain objects' (the new buildings) in another ground objects in still another but, as always, do what's easiest for YOU!!
  7. have we, with some amount of certainty, ever determined WHICH 109 model it was supposed to be?? been fiddling with creating templates for it (the DB version NOT Jumo), and all my books with profiles and internals and such (Modeler's Data file, In action, etc) seem to point that this might (operative word!!) be a K model, as evidenced by the super-sized tire bulges. But should the cowl breech bulges be larger, or is that a G 'thing' only?? Asking the Experten here for some guidance!! thanks! (not withstanding the lack of a center pylon for the drop tank, and other things 'not working'
  8. since I'm still using them "square" monitor, I've never done screen templates for the wide-screens. But I think (operative word=not quite remembering!) someone did widescreen screens SF2:Z "Planes vs Zombies" (don't forget, I did a 'zombie infantry' mod -- they even moan and groan. never did a 'brains ... brains...' wav for them!!
  9. also, is there a "fake pilot" mod being used on in it anywhere?? If the pilot legs are hanging out near the center, you're missing the object needed for the "fake pilot" system to work My money is on a pylon or something similar a screenshot of the guy hanging out would be of help!!
  10. I'd look at some of the Israel tiles, either stock or Stary's hi=rez. The valley tiles are a good 'in between' for the mountain and desert.
  11. your English is more than adequate!! so the main question remains: it is worth messing around with to create a WW2 version, and what should it be called? Or does it really matter? it definitely has the enlarged oil pump bumps in the front lower cowl, and what appears to be the deeper chin scoop. but, then again, if it's a "pieces-parts" ????
  12. there's a max limit to picture attachments until a certain number of posts has been reached (unfortunately, I don't know WHAT the number is!!!) However, you can create a user gallery in our main gallery, and upload bunches and lots!! =================== nice looking model!! like the detail on the Yagis looks like a -5 with single piece blown canopy markings don't quite look right, however (tail code and VF-17 badge). But a good looking model. I take there were shot in IL2? If you look in our WW2 downloads section (US Origins), you'll find Helldivers and Shrikes. Many skins too!
  13. but, 1stGens don't have ALL the aircraft SF2 does AND a HUGE majority got remapped for SF2 so the skins don't match, and is some cases some nodes are different (but, in truth, not too many). The 99.9% have differences in the lod vs data ini, making them 99.9% incompatable with SF2 but as answered, yes -- ALL SF2 lods -including those in the terrain cats if you can believe that!, are locked on 002 cat. SF/W0* lods are still extractable, but of little use in SF2
  14. how do you plan in mounting it, and have it work?? One can covcievably 'scab it on' as a weapon station or via fake pilot, but its not going to really do anything. If use as a gunner station, it'll only shoot at air targets. Best if built in DIRECTLY to aircraft's lod, otherwise it's just (not really functional) eye candy. And then, you're still back to it being a 'self defense' gunner station (like on a B-17 or similar aircraft)
  15. Rends is asking about the 'splash screen', and as I mentioned above is relatively easy to change (although I don't remember how) EDIT: it's called INITSCREEN, and for a modded one, goes in the /Flight folder. The DAT has done this on many of their all-incusive mods as to icons ... I seem to recall there being a buttload in the 1stGen downloads someplace
  16. the only one I didn't look at!! thanks!!
  17. that's easy... make a "generic" loading screen, like I've done for the WW2 mods, and just place in the /Flight folder. The game will use that one first. look in the SF2 templates section; hangar screen template http://combatace.com/files/file/12452-sf2-hangar-screen-template/ all the others: http://combatace.com/files/file/10944-sf2-series-menu-screen-templates/ for loading screens for specific, individual aircraft, those go into that aircraft's main folder.
  18. that's the S-199 this is the S-99 (before Jumo).. So, this is supposed to be a G6?. Then the cowl bulges are waaaay to small. the the G had much smaller tire bulges this also has the radio mast and loop antenna (which, when you REALLLY get a close look, isn't even sitting flush with the fuselage!!)
  19. damn! it gets more confusing all the time!!! why not find an aircraft with a similar engine (Merlin Mustang = Merlin Spit 9 -- close enough for government work -} and adjust from there?
  20. yes, indeed. as that IS the standard for defining a point in 3 dimensional space also, SF2 can BOTH Unicode and ANSI Lods, whereas SF1/Wo* can only read ANSI. irrc, the later versions of MAX (2009???) should be able to export both formats. (someone correct me if I'm wrong!! )
  21. Are you talking about the menu buttons, or the actual icon (like for shortcuts) themselves?? Or the startup splash screen (which CAN be changed -disremember how, however) for icons, there should be some in the 1stGen downloads someplace ... I made a bunch of them. of course, to be really RUDE, you can use this... http://combatace.com/gallery/image/27608-no-3w-support/ yes, I'm in a very bad mood/place this afternoon... (and of course, the fucking image isn't linking. anything else gonna go right??
  22. No 3w support

File Name: SF2 WW2 MTO Bristol Beaufighter Mk.VIF, v.9 File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 07 March 2014 File Category: Other SF2 WW2 MTO Bristol Beaufighter Mk.VIF, v.9 by Cocas 2/10/2014 -- Something for the WW2 MTO players -- = For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) = *This mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs, at any patch level. It was built for SF2 ONLY!!.* *Note x2: This mod represents VIFs as used in the MTO =ONLY=. This is the AI equipped NFs (Mk.VII), WITH dehidral (upwards pointing) tailplanes, but NO turret gun. I've allowed for other mission statement like 'Armed_Recon'. This aircraft carries NO bombs or rockets. You'll have to do with guns-only. Until the later model VI, X and TF.X arrive.* This is a BRAND NEW aircraft, brought to you by Cocas Aircraft Factory & Co. We are calling this "version 0.9", as there exists the possibility of more work being required. But, we wanted to get them out into the hands of our WW2 End Users ™ for their examination and so forth. This pack contains the following aircraft & skin/decal sets: Beaufighter Mk.IVF No. 600 "City of London" Squadron As seen in late 1942/early 43 time frames. The aircraft is finished in standard overall MSG with disruptive Dark Green. The Squadron Crest for each is used as the paint chip seen on the Loadout Screen. Skins are in jpg format, as are the bump maps. Damage textures are in DDS. Everything is included, excepting the guns (you should have all these already). No bombs or rockets; these are Mk.VIF NFs, not equipped for them. All markings are decals, and decal randomization is set to TRUE. Other squadrons can easily be reproduced by creating new squadron code letters. As is my habit, sample bmps are left in the various Decals folders so you can match the font and size. All serials, while correct for the variant depicted, should be considered 'generic' in nature, as they represent no specific aircraft with the unit(s) depicted. When in-game, you'll see: Beaufighter Mk VIF (Early) (CAF) for this aircraft. The "CAF" (for Cocas Aircraft Factory) will diferentiate these Beaus from any others you may or may not have. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please =READ= them BEFORE installing this mod!!!. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. Happy Hunting!
