SF2 WW2 MTO Regia Marina Cargo Ship 2/20/2014 -- Something for the WW2 MTO players -- = For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) = Yet another repaint/repurpose of Stephan1918's EXCELLENT First Eagles cargo ships. This time, we're representing merchant ships of the Italian Navy (Regia Marina) of WW2. This will give you something other than the stock cargo ship or anything else (available or not) for auntie-shipping missions in The Med These ships ARE armed, to 2 20mm guns, so they WILL shoot back when under attack!! As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please =READ= them BEFORE installing this mod!!!. You'll also be editing your sound list, if you haven't already, to add the ship sounds Happy Hunting! Wrench Kevin Stein edit: the ship is NOW in the zip. sorry folks!

It was built for SF2 ONLY!!.* *Note x2: This mod represents BOTH early and late production Beau Mk.1s for the MTO ONLY! Seperate versions are in the works for everywhere else, as their start/end dates tend to differ.* These are BRAND NEW aircraft, brought to you by Cocas Aircraft Factory & Co. This is the third of a set of Beaufighters. This package contains 3 aircraft, representing the both early & late production Beaufighter Mk.1F & the early NF Mk.1Fs. We are calling this "version 0.9", as there exists the possibility of more work being required. But, we wanted to get them out into the hands of our WW2 End Users ™ for their examination and so forth. This pack contains the following aircraft & skin/decal sets: Beaufighter Mk.1F Early (Day Fighter) Standard Desert Day Scheme Beaufighter Mk.1F Late (Day Fighter) Standard Desert Day No. 252 Squadron No. 272 Squadron (Both aircraft have both squadrons. Early and Late divides the straight tail from the "bent" tail marks.) Beaufighter NF Mk.1 Early (Night Fighter) Desert Day uppers, Special Night Unders No. 89 Squadron The Squadron Crest for each is used as the paint chip seen on the Loadout Screen. Skins are in jpg format, as are the bump maps. Damage textures are in DDS. Everything is included, excepting the guns (you should have all these already). No bombs or rockets; these are Mk.1s, not equipped for them. All markings are decals, and decal randomization is set to TRUE. Other squadrons can easily be reproduced by creating new squadron code letters. As is my habit, sample bmps are left in the various Decals folders so you can match the font and size. All serials, while correct for the variant depicted, should be considered 'generic' in nature, as they represent no specific aircraft with the units represented. New Hangar and Loading screens for each are included. When in-game, you'll see: Beaufighter Mk. IF (Early) (CAF) Beaufighter Mk IF (Late) (CAF) Beaufighter NF Mk.I (Late) (CAF) for these aircraft. The "CAF" (for Cocas Aircraft Factory) will differentiate these Beaus from any others you may (or may not) have. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. 8. File Name: SF2 WW2 Spitfire Mk.VIII, RAAF PTO by Mod Mafia/TMF -v2 File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 14 June 2013 File Category: Spitfire SF2 WW2 Spitfire Mk.VIII, RAAF PTO by Mod Mafia/TMF 2/18/2014 **UPDATED to Ver 2!!** = For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) = -For WW2 PTO Usage ONLY!- *Note: This mod updates the original pak from June, 2013. It is desinged to REPLACE, it total, that pak. After unzipping, you MAY dorp it over your existing one, or delete the older RAAF Pak (BETTER!!), and just use this. If you don't have the original, then no worries!! :) *Note2: it's RECCOMENDED you have whichever SF2 Expansion pak that gave us the Spit 9s. This mod references that destroyed model for it's own use* This is a reskin/redecalling of the TMF Mk.VIII Spit for use by the Royal Australian Air Force in the South West Pacific area (Oz, PNG, Indonesia, Timor, etc region). NOT for use in the CBI theatre!!! Note: this is a Nationalized verion for Australia =ONLY=!! Skin/Decals set included are for: No. 452 Squadron as delivered in 1943 No. 79 Squadron (late 44/45, all white tail; Moritai?) NEW!! The aircraft is finished in standard RAF Day Scheme (Green/Grey/Lt Grey unders) All skins are in jpg format, Decal Randomization is TRUE. All markings are decals (excepting National Markings, that are painted on); making it supremely easy to recreate other squadron users. For 79 Squadron only, Serial numbers marked with a star (*) for either skin represent actual aircraft, 100% matched to their plane-in-group-numbers. Those withOUT, while having served with the respective squadrons, could not be match to specific aircraft. For 452 Squadron, ALL are 100% historically correct. All weapons (drop tanks), sounds, pilot figure(s) (including the 'fake pilot') are included. Guns/bombs are NOT included; you should have them already. New Hangar and Loading screens are included. The appropriate Squadron Crest is used for the paint chip on both skins. The Canopy opens with the Standard Animation Keystroke ™, Shift/0 Damage textures are DDS; When 'in game', you'll see Spitfire Mk.VIII (TMF) RAAF in the aircraft selection drop-down window. This will diferentiate it from any other Mk.VIIIs, and their users, you may (or may not) have . As always, fairly easy to follow, highly detailed install instructions are included. So, please -READ- them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too for futher explinations, clarifactions, illuminations and so forth. Good Hunting! Wrench Kevin Stein For Oli; you are sorely missed! 9. File Name: SF2 WW2 Northern Europe/North Sea Terrain (v2) File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 21 January 2014 File Category: Full Terrains WW2 Northern Europe Terrain for SF2 - For SF2, Any & All (*Full-4/5 Merged Reccomended*) This is an all NEW map, covering the Northern UK (Scotland, Orkneys, Shetlands), southern Norway, Denmark, parts of Sweden, Germany, The Netherlands, and LARGE parts of the North Sea. This map makes use of =BOTH= the LimitedNations and AllowedMission statements. There are =NO= CAS or other Ground Attack mission tasking, other than Armed Recon and Anti-Shipping. Strike, of course, for the bombers, remains (exceedingly!) valid. Armed Recon mission are constrained to within approximately 100km of the coastlines (more or less) for BOTH sides, due to the long over-water distances involved in some parts of the map. Like the last 2 ETO terrain remods, there is an extensive road network on both sided of the channel (lesser in Norway, of course, due to the tiling constraints and fjords!). As this map was (relatively) designed for anti-shipping strikes, you'll find plenty of them to keep you busy. Plus all the other allowed missions, for both sides. *Geophysical Disclaimer: some rivers and other water features may not follow their Real Life ™ courses, or be placed in their Real Life ™ locations, or exist at all. Several cities and other physical features (mountains, vallies, coastlines, forests, roads, etc) may also fall into this classification; Some populated places may exist only as a "named place" on the map (even some fairly large, and strategicly important ones). This was done for operational reasons. Many airfields/airports, some of historical significance, may also be non existant or not placed in the Real World ™ locations due to tiling constraints. Bridges may also not be in their Real World ™ locations, or run in their historical directions.* When in-game, you'll see "Northern Europe, WW2" on the terrain selection dropdown window. The bare minimum of Ground Objects are supplied; you'd be well adivsed to have the EAWEuro WW2 and Battle of Britain Rebuilds, with their included objects in you ETO mods folder. Other objects are also needed, listed in the "Other Stuff Needed" Section below. As always, unzip this to a temp folder or your desktop, and you'll have access to the rest of the readme for it's instructions. It's reccomended you read the document through after unzipping, but -BEFORE- installing. As always, the Notes and Other Nonesense section may make for entertaining reading, as it explains a few "oddities" you WILL experience! Please also read and -OBEY- the New Standard Usage Discalimer ™, as it's been changed slightly to reflect a change in my policy. It's listed at the bottom, in the Legal Statement Section, with the URL back to the CA post. Good Hunting! Wrench Kevin Stein Edit: new readme uploaded within terrain, with corrected Credits. my sincerest apologies to Stary!! Edit #2 new inis with corrected postions/terrain size. with special thanks to Gepard for finding my mistake!! MANY THANKS!! Click here to download this file
  10. the water bmp was generated by Gerwin's TFD tool, and it's worked for me before, again I don't know why thing aren't working
  11. nuts! I couldn't find the cover with the giant eels... will a pissed off giant turtle do??
  12. "the name were changed to protect the guilty"
  13. that's what I was getting before fixing the terrain size. ok, I see now... I have no idea, brother. It may be something in the terrain I've missed, or shitty coding in the mission builder (which I find hard to believe, as the PTO Phillipines 44 seems to work with naval objects, iirc) asking at 3w would be of no use, as it's a 'use built terrain'.
  14. try changing the name of the (cv) water bmp to match the original ie: Norway_water.bmp, and see what happens. I think all that stuff has to match (inis, tfd, hfd, etc) I haven't looked at it for some time, having moved to south aisa (or working on Daniel's aircraft)
  15. "total conversion" basically what we're doing, but more on a individual folder/file basis. The game, stock out-of-the-box so to speak, has relatively empty folder (most will only contain the main ini, which has basic property pointers for the engine to look at and 'pull' necessary operating bits from the various cat files). Don't worry about them. In fact, many of the GroundObjects can be left alone, as they have specific start dates, well after 1945. One of the main tricks, ESPECIALLY for aircraft, is leave one player usable (like a A-4 or F-4), and one non-flyable (aka "AI controlled"), like a MiG-21. A few years back we had some issues with the game engine automaticly repopulating ALL the aircraft back one these 2 weren't there. for some screwy reason. The real hard part is downloading and install the specific aircraft, vehicles, ships, guns, weapons, etc. For the most part, we have era-specific sets ready for this. Check the SF2 Objects downloads, particully for guns and weapons packs built with WW2 in mind. It IS a lot of work; no one here has assembled a 'ready to use' theatre or region specific package with all the required pieces. OTH, the DAT has several; a PTO, MTO and Eastern Front (Russia) . But, they do have restrictions on some things before getting heavily into the modding, I'd really recommend reading both the SF/Wo* Knowledge Base (what we call 1stGens), and the SF2 Knowledge Base. Plenty of good information that is applicable, and should give you a basic working knowledge of how things is done, and how the game (usually!) works. Also, explore the folder structures of the 'mods folder' -- it's in your C:\Users\*-your name here-*\Saved Games\ThirdWire folder. And just play the regular game for week or two, just to get familiar with how things are. It will help in the long run. and I'm off ... it's 2am and time for bed!
  16. welcome, brother!! We've been playing WW2, in 'stand alone' type installs since at least 2005. Yes, it VERY doable! (as can be seen by the number of WW2 downloads we have) directly above, in the stickied threads, you'll find the basic guide: http://combatace.com/topic/74835-creating-the-eratheatre-specific-ww2-install/ now, while not fully up-to-date (I must fix that!), the instructions are fairly easy to follow. The only thing I'd change is using the SF2NA exe to build your (theatre specific) WW2 mods folder from. Now, this is only if you're planning on adding those terrains that now support carrier operations. (Central Pacific types, for instance, and one of the MTO terrains, iirc). If not, then it's advisable to use SF2 or SF2E. V and I may still have some "unique" properties that make the not really suitable for WW2 modding. But, as you're Full-5 Merged, with Exp 1 & 2, this should not be an issue First off, you must choose WHERE in the World of WW2 you wish to fly. Mind you, some of the items are NOT available here are CA. Those, in particular, built by the Dev A-Team (aka, "DAT"). For those you have to sign up at their site, and follow their specific rules. ask specific questions, and we'll try and answer them!
  17. how come you're not using the right Mk.VIII for 79 Squadron??? ----- required screen shot:
  18. post images to the gallery, then use the 'link feature', (ie: copy/paste the images url into you post) no upload limit to the gallery
  19. generator buildings are classed as "POWER_PLANT" in the types ini, as is that giant sized one on the GCE map the other to use, for quays/docks/piers/cranes/etc is "NAVAL_BASE" (converslyl, barracks and such can be classed as "ARMY_BASE" I use WAREHOUSE for static (docked) ships. Except naval vessels in-port, they stay WARSHIP to REALLY vary the types to attack, (this trick goes way back to SF1, early 2000s) extract the SingleMission.ini, place in the /Flight folder, and edit as follows: now, you can take you multi-million dollar aircraft, with weapons costing 10s (or 100s) of thousand to dollars, and blow up the 500 dollar truck
