SF2 BAe Nimrod MR.1 Remod Pak by Veltro2k
Wrench posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
File Name: SF2 BAe Nimrod MR.1 Remod Pak by Veltro2k File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 26 May 2013 File Category: Other SF2 BAe Nimrod MR.1 Remod Pak by Veltro2k = For SF2, (Full 5 Merged ONLY!!)= **FUll 5 Merged reccomended, as the destroyed model references the stock 3W B-52, and many statements in the data ini refer to SF2NA coding only** A Re-release of the Veltro2k's Nimrod Martime Patrol aircraft, now with some (ok, many) updates for the SF2:NA environment. This is the complete aircraft package, with an new cockpit and various and sundry ini tweeks. Several new or updated weapons are included. The hangar and loading screens have also been converted for SF2 usage. 2 skins are included: 42 Squadron, in the original 2-tone (called Early) 201 Squadron, in the Hemp (called, Hemp (doh!!)) The skins will automatically change from the Early to the later Hemp at a (semi)specific date. (Read: my best guess)! Skins remain in bmp format. Decal randomization is set to TRUE for both skins. Basicly, it's the exactly as I released sometime back for SF2 (pre-purge), but with several enchancement and tweeks, now set up for SF2NA. Damage textures are in DDS. Loadouts have been adjusted to start with torpedos, and then switch to Harpoons, also at a 'best guesstimate' year (1983). As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! Also, give the "Note" section a read, in particular on operational usage. The Legal Statement has been changed with regards to this aircraft. For those that still have the original releases, you may want to delete said original (or back it up somewheres), as there HAVE been changes and additions in several of the inis mostly in respect to SF2NA. Consider this a FULL replacement of the original. **These aircraft herein are released in "AS IS" Condition. Any and all issues/problems that cannot be solved via ini edits will exist forever, as new models are unlikely to be created**. Good Hunting! wrench Click here to download this file -

WWII Torpedos
Wrench replied to Veltro2k's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - World War II Forum
nope, it's still Auntie Ship, trust me on this!! check the Beaus....you'll see now, oth, Naval_Strike will work if one backdates the IcelandNA map, and has a KM carrier...this is also been tested (on both sides). Strike_Naval is more for CV vs CV, not directly for going after merchantmen -
WWII Torpedos
Wrench replied to Veltro2k's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - World War II Forum
should be: AttachmentType=W_GERMANY (unless you're making a new F5 Italian torpedo, then add WWII Italy) http://www.navweaps....s/WTIT_WWII.htm remember, NATO are the 'good guys', so you won't find a US/UK/etc weapon on an enemy aircraft i'm guesing SM-79 increase max weight to 1100 (or so) for externally slung weapons, you may NOT need the MaxDiameter= LengthLimit= i took it off the TorBeau's and they work fne (other than the AI is stupid with torpedos...) -
nice!! thanks for sharing!

Wrench replied to SupGen's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
hangar and loadout bmps missing..(called out in all main inis) AircraftShortName= missing from main ini otherwise, nicely done edit: in the data ini's detect system section, it should read: RadarFamilyName=NASARR that'll cause teh "104" tag to show on other folks TEWS -

have you LOOKED inside the various stock folders??? i'd suggest looking in /Flight or /Menu. that's usually where they non-stock ones wind up. but the must keep the same names as the originals -

SF2 WW2 ETO Bristol Beaufighter TF Mk.X (DAT)
Wrench posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
File Name: SF2 WW2 ETO Bristol Beaufighter TF Mk.X (DAT) File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 22 May 2013 File Category: Other SF2 WW2 ETO Bristol Beaufighter TF Mk.X (DAT) = For SF2 (Full4/5 Merged RECCOMENDED!) **This mod -MAY- work in 1stGen game installs. But this has not/cannot be tested by me.** This pak contains mods for the Dev A-Teams Bristol Beaufighter, that recreate the TF Mk.X in both it's iterations. This is a semi-complete aircraft mod, and as per DAT directives, the aircraft lod is =NOT= included. So, those users that cannot access the DAT downloads, you're advised to skip this, as it's of no use to you. Everything else is included (pretty much!). Those users with access, =WILL= be transfering the lods from a seperate DAT download of the Beaufighter TF Mk.X and Beaufighter Mk.10. ReMeMbEr: two different aircraft, 2 different lods, 2 seperate downloads from their site. This mod has been built and tested with the BeaufighterMk10_R8.LOD (dated 7/19/2005) and BeaufighterTFX_R8.LOD (dated 7/16/2005) from their WW2 Aircraft Downloads section. You WILL need BOTH of these, to copy/paste into these aircraft's folder. These are 2 different aircraft, with 2 different LODs This pacakge contains 2 (almost) complete aircraft. I've split the Mk.X into Early and Late versions. Included herein are for UK (ETO) based squadrons =ONLY=!! You'll get: TF MK.X (Early -no dorsal fin, no radar) Coastal Command: No. 143 Squadron No. 236 Squadron No. 254 Squadron -all North Coates Strike Wing No. 455 Squadron RAAF, ANZAC Strike Wing, (w/Invasion Stripes) TF Mk.X (Late, -with ASV thimble nose and dorsal fin -consider this a "TorBeau") No. 143 Squadron, Coastal Command, North Coates SW The skins are completly new, from my Home Grown Template , and remains in bmp format. New decals were created for Squadron Code letters, serials, plane-in-group letters and others. Note: 455 Squadron uses a different pattern for their Squadron Code/Plane-in-group letters. The PSD template is in the /D subfolder for those wishing to create other squadrons of the ANZAC Strike Wing. The serials are pooled, and are 'generic' in nature, as they represent no particular aircraft within the unit(s) depicted, but ARE for the model variant represented. Colors are FS matched as close as possible. When possible, the Squadron Crest is used for the 'paint chip' on the loadout screen. All fuselage markings are decals (wing roundels remain painted on); this will allow super easy creation of other squadrons by simply creating a new SCode or **(2letter) decal, and decal randomization is set to TRUE. Hangar and/or Loading screens were either rebuilt to SF2-spec, or created new for this package. They are in jpg format, and fit SF2 styling. Damage textures are new, in DDS format. Also included, is a new "twin bomb rack" for the centerline station. The other bombs and guns you should already have. The FM, based off the Beaufighter in the Wings Over Africa Total Conversion Mod, may need further small adjustments. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! All the original DAT readmes are included, for historical and ownership/copyright purposes. It is HIGHLY suggested you unzip this archive, and READ the install instructions BEFORE installing this mod. So you know EXACTLY what to do.. Visual Oddity...
Wrench posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
as many know, we're working on a new Spitfire Mk V, and there's something very strange happening with the newest lod Cocas and I are at a loss as to WHAT's causing this "oddity". On the external view, the left inner wing is perfectly visiable (gear up or down -makes no difference) From the cockpit, when looking left, the inner wing disappeares!!! (see screenies below) all 4 wing secions are ShowFromCockpit=TRUE. landing gear HideGearNodes is FALSE I've looked at the cockpit ini, and nothing strikes me as being off. I don't think it;s any kind of clipping issue == nothing is modded in the FLightengineini or viewlists or anywhere else. the older lod that this replaced didn't have this issue. anyone have ANY idears???? thanks!! -

yes, the cowling needs to be 'tighter' moving forward, and the spinner pointer. hopefuly, we'll get that taken care of!! interesting to see on Mk.V in early temperate day scheme!! never seen that before (thought they were all gray/green) -
