template making tips?
Wrench replied to slick cowboy's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
i have a fairly complete set for the A-4F, it that'll help. I thought I'd uploaded them (like the A-7 and A-6E) alos, a good trick is to duplicate the main or background layer and INVERT it. this'll show the panel/rivets as white (usually), makeing the easier to see it goes without saying, the base size for Home Grown Templates should be at least 2048x2048. 4096 works realy good too, and allows for more details use of clouds, noise on the painted parts, etc. all help. -

Ranging "Radar"?
Wrench replied to Snailman's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
you playing on EASY or Normal?? on Normal, the radar box in the upper right didn't exist for me (as the aircraft, for all intents and purposes, ain't got no radar) on EASY, it always shows. as to recoloring, iirc, you'll have to repaint the R/G/B layer of the tga to match. Sorry! Make sure said tga is in the /cockpit folder someplace. That should work! as to the range gate thingy, try different clock positions. It may be something hardcoded, but that's the only way to find out. (3to9 or whatever..has to cover 180 degres, iirc) -
SF2 WW2 Focke Wulf FW-190A-1

This is the first of a series of FW-190 upgrades, that will cover those models (while still based off Wolf's original LOD), that were/are available from the 1stGen SF/Wo* mods previously released. With required upgrades for SF2. This mod is designed to REPLACE any 1stGen variant you may have in your WW2 ETO intalls. Originally, this aircraft folder was just called "FW190". This has been changed to more accuratly refelct the model depicted. This package represents FW-190A-1s as first deployed in Western Europe. Skins/Decals in this pak are: 3/JG2, 'standard' Luftwaffe camo, circa 1941/42ish 7/JG2, circa 1944-ish JG-26 (consider this a more 'generic' skin/decal set. It shows up everywhere!) Skins are in jpg format, and decal randomization is set to TRUE. A (semi) compliant SF2 FM was cobbled together from various sources. As always, while it works quite well, further fine tuning is required by Experten. Sounds, pilot figures and weapons are included, as well a new SF2 version of my "box art" Hangar/Loading screens. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! Also, the "Notes" section for other important stuff of interest. Wolf's original readme is included for historical purposes. *Due to the age of the physical model (LOD), this mod is being released "as is"; PLEASE see the Notes section for more info* Happy Hunting! wrench kevin stein Click here to download this file -

Strategic nodes question
Wrench replied to pcpilot's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
don't forget, "Japanese Empire" is just the IJAAF. You'll probably need to add "IJN" as well, as a lot of my recent mods for japaneas stuff has split the services as they shoudl be. AND has the 2ndy effect of allowing for IJ naval forces (as seen in the PTO ships mod) which also means you're going to be doing data ini edits on the aircraft, to place them in the correct 'nation' (ie: service) -

simple fix... remove all mission tasking statements but "INTERCEPT" .. cause that's all it was really designed to do!!! that's what I did on mine! -

FW-190 round count?
Wrench replied to Wrench's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - World War II Forum
that's just EXCELLENT!! Thanks Otto!! So the A-1 has no Jabo role? have to reedit the data ini!! and what's better is, I 're discovered" the ETC-50 rack from Monty's 109G/S-199. Dosen't fit perfectly flugh with the belly, but it carriers the 4 50kg bombs! (shot in the SF2 screenies thread) it's just a pity I have to use the old Wolf FWs. Has some bad points, but no decal bleeds or shadow artifacts! -
SF2 IDF DH Mosquito FB Mk.VI Pak

File Name: SF2 IDF DH Mosquito FB Mk.VI Pak File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 20 December 2012 File Category: Mosquito SF2 IDF DH Mosquito FB Mk.VI Pak = Something for the SF2:I Players = = For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged ( Full-5 Reccomended/Preferred) = *There is a possibility that this mod may work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs. However due to the excessive modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment, not all features will be avaliable. Plus all the other issues...* Some mods/reskin/redecaling for Pasko's Mosquito FB Mk.VI, as seen in the early to mid 1950s while serving with the Israeli Defense Forces. Like the recently released WW2 versions, this get new skins in jpg format, decal randomization is TRUE. A new (semi) compliant SF2 level FM, and other ini tweeks. Just like the others! This is a complete aircraft pak, designed to replace any eariler version (as seen in the Suez Crisis Campaign Pak). 2 skins are included: Overall 'Silver Dope', as delivered in 1950 Overall 'Silver Dope' with Black/Yellow "Invasion Stripes" as seen during Operation Mokeed. This skin replaces the one included in the Campaign Pak. I've kept the aircraft folder name the same, so it should just drip right in, and NOT mess up the campaign ini (I cross-checked the aircraft name in said ini to be sure!). No weapons are included, other than the drop tank. These reference those from the Suez Campaign Pak. Pilot figures, engine sound and a NEW SF2-style hangar screen are also included. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! Also, as mentioned, the "Notes" section for other stuff of interest. *This mod is being released in an "as is" condition; the same notations seen in the WW2 Mossie Pak apply here as well* Happy Hunting! wrench kevin stein Click here to download this file -

SF2 WW2 DH Mosquito Pak

However due to the excessive modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment, not all features will be avaliable. Plus all the other issues...* Mods, rebuilds, reskining/redecaling for Pasko's Mosquitos. This is a compilation, in some respects, of many 1stGen WW2 mods of this aircraft. However, ALL the skins and decals ARE new builds. Aircraft and Skins in the Pak are... Mosquite B. Mk.IV 105 Squadron 139 "Jamacia" Squadron Mosquito FB.VI 418 "City of Edmonton" Squadron, RCAF 464 Squadron, RAAF Mosquito NF.XII 96 Squadron Mosquito PR.IV 1 PRU ...and one "just for fun" aircraft -- you all KNOW which movie Mosquito's I'm talking about! When discoverable, the Squadron Crest is used for the 'color chip' on the Loadout Screen. A new (mostly) SF2 compliant FM was created*. All loadouts have been corrected; gun round counts are now accurate. Unfortunately, due to AI problems, the FB.VI has all the guns set as "Primary". Sounds, pilot figures and weapons are included, as are new SF2 versions of the Hangar screens, several of which are COMPLETLY new for this package. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! Also, as mentioned, the "Notes" section for other stuff of interest. *See Notes section for more IMPORTANT information! Template Set for Pasko's Mosquitos
Wrench posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
File Name: Template Set for Pasko's Mosquitos File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 21 December 2012 File Category: SF2 Patches and Tools Layered PSD format templates for Pasko's Mosquito FB VI and B Mk.IV These are my (patent pending) Home-Grown Templates for these aircraft. I've left all my layers intact, so it should be fairly easy to see what goes where. It should be noted, the right and left wings are mapped identically. There is a seperate sub-folder for the B Mk.IV seris "body.psd", as it has different panel lines. Happy Skinning! wrench kevin stein Click here to download this file- 1 reply
