  1. File Name: SF2 French Navy F6F-5 Hellcat and F4U-7 Corsair File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 06 December 2012 File Category: F4F / F6F / F7F / F8F SF2 French Navy F6F-5 Hellcat and F4U-7 Corsair = For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged (Full-5 Reccomended/Preferred) = This pak could also be called "Post-War French Naval Aviation". *Note: There is a distinct probability that this mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs. However, some data ini and other statements will =NOT= be in effect in 1stGen SF/Wo* at any patch level (with the possible exception of WoI plus it's ExpansionPak -this has not been tested, as I ONLY mod for SF2). It is designed for use in SF2/SF2NA, at the most CURRENT patch level. Your milage will vary!* *Note x2: built/tested in the SF2NA Environment; Again, your milage will vary* The pack contains the following aircraft, skin/decal sets: F6F-5 Hellcat: Flotille 1, aboard Arromanches, early 1950s in Indochina F4U-7 Corsair: Flotille 14, aboard Arromanches 1950s, Indochina Flotille 15, circa 1956, with Suez yellow/black 'Invasion Stripes' FMs have been adjusted as per the KAW Corsairs, and the WW2 USN Hellcat. Skins on the Corsair have been conveted to jpg format; the skin for the Hellcat remains in tga format. Decal randomization is TRUE for all. Both aircraft are "stand alone versions", nationalized for French Navy usage. All sounds, weapons, pilot figures, etc are included. New SF2-style hangar screens were created for both aircraft. The canopy for both works via Standard Animation Keystroke; Shift/0. The wingfold on the Hellcat does NOT work; however, the Corsair's does (I didn't break this one!). Use it's Standard Animation Keystroke; Shift/9. Both aircraft are fully carrier capable in the SF2/SF2NA environment. When in-game, you'll see F6F-5 Hellcat (FN) and/or F4U-7 Corsair (FN) in the Aircraft Selection Drop-down window. As a bonus, included are also Optional modifications to the following terrains: VietnamSEA IsrealME These have modified _water.bmps that have the 'green CV Zones' added. V-SEA has them approximatly for Yankee & Dixie stations. IME has them approximately for Operation Musketeer (56 Suez Crisis). Both terrain's main and nations' ini have been expanded to include 'FrenchNavy'. Also, you'll be needing to extract the Game's Nations.ini, and make one small adjustment to it. Instructions are below, in the "To Install" section. And.. by downloading now, an extra added bonus!!! a couple of FN ships: R95 Arromanches aircraft carrier, from PauloPanz's "9 Carriers" mod pak (with minor changes by me) Le Brix class destroyers, based on Hinchbrooks' C-Class DD. A pure stand-in; but something was needed for the CVBG. This will have to suffice for now. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please -READ- them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too for futher explinations, clarifactions, illuminations and so forth. Happy Landings! wrench kevin stein Click here to download this file

  3. i've got a full set of templates, but they're only 512x. anybody want's 'em, they're yours!
  4. That time of the year again.

    BLOODY TOURISTS!!!
  5. I'm trying to find a good sized (at least 200x200) image of the squadron badge of 1 Flottile, French Navy need it for a decal...damn web is letting me down!! TIA!!
  6. ok, having compared the ww2 palestine to the 2.5 version of Isreal2, i've come to the conclusion that for WW2, mods to the I-2, 2.5 would be a better solution. mind you, it'll still need target areas transfered from palestine to i-2 2.5, but the later version has a LOT more stuff added (like beirut airport) http://combatace.com/files/file/7430-isreal2-ver-25-by-gepard/ again, still a lot of work transfering stuff, but much easier than rebulding the TFD/HFD for ww2 palestine for this purpose
  7. iirc, isn't WoA a DAT mod? If so, nothing from it can be shared outside the DAT site. as to the terrains, when I remade it, it's still basicaly Gepard's Iseral2 map, with places renamed to WW2-ish types, so 'modern' placements for whatever is there i wonder if I still have a TE set up for it... have to look and see
  8. no longer availalbe. unfortunately, it was removed
  9. WHAAAAAA HOOOO!! many thanks Raven!
  10. mon Capitaine, please check the SF2 screen shots thread!! and Thank You for the data/info ... it helps a lot! as to the 520, sommat different, but also Syrian based (and used a slightly 'revised' IsraelME map). You're welcome to my not-so-stellar Home Grown template for Veltro's 520; unfortunatly the aircraft itself is no longer available. but if we're nice, maybe he'll (re)build us a new one!
  11. sorry, no not a Seafire. As we don't have one readily availalbe but.. the profile linked IS the one!
  12. look in the terrainfolder, and tell what is the 'date modified' for the 4 airfiled inis desert_airfield1 desert_airfield2 desert_airfield3 desert_airfield6 you'll need to 'change view' in your windows exploer pane set setup mine are dated 2009 they most likely need updating/replace in the later versions, but that may nessicate rebuilding the airfields, as they're general layout is different from stock, at worst, back up those 4 by renaming, and extract the latest ones from the desert.cat, drop them into the BoB terrain folder, see what happens
  13. that don't bother me all.
  14. as in 'what official files?" aircaft? ships? vehicles? effects? which SF2 version to use??? i don't have that knda time! invilved in 8+ other projects all at the same time...
  15. in the 10 GunVal Sabres? I've got them too, with 100% historic serials (like those were hard to figure out...). Be advised, however, they have a service lifespan of 12 months.
  16. some of those look like the painting of war, by that Argentine artist, whose name escapes me (I have some of them as jpg scans)
  17. it was removed which is sad, as my upgrade pak was really good (breaks arm, patting self on back)
  18. ...that old EAW Euro WW2 map. Now, it's actually a little too early to be certain, but I'm hopefull that using the same procedure that I used on the New Guenia map (yes, I know .. I haven't touched it for month; busy with KAW stuff). IF this does work out, that means a REAL full 4-season Europe for WW2 can be created. Of course, the targets ini has to be completly s**tcanned and rebuilt for 1940s accuracy...so don't expect to see anything before the middle of next year sometime. Mind you, the map has some excpetional "oddness" in in construction, so keep fingers crossed! But it IS looking slightly hopefull. Once I get the texturelist rebuilt, the tiles imported, and begin in-game testing. I'll know more wish me luck!
  19. good to see you again! thanks for the link, I"ll certainly jump over and take a look. at last testing, however, the cursed thing keeps locking on loading (10%!!!!!), so I know I messed up something
  20. very COOL!!!
  21. it means, if you want to fly Arab/Israeli Wars, buy Wing Over Isreal. and.. as an extra added bonus, TK has an expansion pak for WoI that adds the following aircraft: C-47A Mig-15 Vampire (at 2, if not 4 variants) P-51D Meteor F.8 and it brings WoI almost to the level of the orignal relase of SF2
