  1. edit the loadout ini, and always carry drop tanks the MiGs are notorious (since SFP1) for NOT having tanks all the time -- which they should have
  2. oh yeah!!! that worked a charm except for he's holding!!! I LOVE anachronisims!!!
  3. did you re-intialize the weaponsdata ini and gundata ini using the weapons editor and gun editor??? (meaning, add them in?) are you wingmates, at mission start, giving you the radio message "i'm out of gun ammo'? can you select the new weapons/guns with the 'next weapon' or 'next gun' button or keystroke? and do they fire or dorp? in 1stGens, things don't just "drag and drop in", they MUST be added using (whichever) weapons or gun editor for that patch level, to generat new weaponsdata.dat and gundata.dat files
  4. allowed mission types is SF2 only the only way to get Intercept missions is to NOT use WoV as the base game install. It does not contain the dlls necessary to generate them. OTH, SF1, WoE and WoI DO
  5. decal level = sets what kind Level 0 = national markings Level 1 = squadron markings Level 2 = serial/modex numbers/plane-in-group ID letter, also nose art Level 3 = killmarks decal max lod = how far away it's visible, based on the aircraft physical model (LOD), for with multiple LODs (sometimes called distance lods) that render the aircraft at varying distances from the players viewpoint. Some models (stock ones for sure) have multiple distance lods, many 3rd party ones do not rule of thumb I use is DecalMaxLod=3 the higher the max lod, the more the graphics engine has work to render the decal (make it visible further away) as well as the skin and aircraft model
  6. Happy Birthday To......

all the more reasons to celebrate (not that we need a reason...) Happy Birthday!!!!!
  7. until Raven builds a 'real one'.. 8 gun SeaHurri (data edits can also be used to create standard, 8 gun ones, too!)
  8. http://combatace.com/index.php/topic/44031-guide-to-converting-old-weapons-from-the-strike-fighters-1-series-to-the-new-plug-and-play-weapons-for-the-strike-fighters-2-series-by-migbuster/
  9. moved to the proper Forum ========================= looks like this link might come in handy: http://combatace.com/index.php/forum/268-thirdwire-strike-fighters-2-series-knowledge-base/ start at the top, and go through the topics that might be helpful
  10. early WIP for WW2 version having some cockpit issues (to many pilot figures showing up!) need to run down serials; code letters are easy. after saber, and the KAW version...sometime december/January
  11. can you help US out here a bit?? what game? what patch level? what aircraft? what "operational year spread"? not giving us anything to go on, so it's next to impossible to answer the questions!!!
  12. 'start new topic' button, upper right???
  13. the gun positions was 'proof of concept', they've been moved back against the leading edge. Raven: good to know!!! Also fiddled into being a standard Mk.1, trop 8 gunned. but I can wait for the real one!! (non trop, for BoB)
  14. File Name: SF2 WW2 Hawker Hurricane IID, DAF, by Raven File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 24 November 2012 File Category: Hurricane SF2 WW2 Hawker Hurricane IID, DAF, by Raven -- Something for the WW2 MTO players -- = For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) = *There is a possibility that this mod may work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs. However, due to some of the modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment, all the features will NOT be working as designed.* This is a 'rebuild' for Raven's Hurricane Mk.IV into the (slightly) earlier Mk.IID, for use in the Western Desert and North Africa. This version is essentially the same (minus the rocket stations), armed with the 2 Vickers 'S' 40mm gun pods. It is a complete aircraft pak, with pretty much everything needed. The skin included herein is for: No. 6 Squadron "Flying Tin Openers", RAF/Desert Air Force, 1942-45 This skin is still in bmp format. All new decals were created for Codes and serial numbers. Decal randomization is TRUE. As all the markings are decals, it would be quite easy for other skinners to recreate other RAF squadrons that used the 2D in the MTO. A new SF2 version of my original 1stGen 'Box Art" hangar screen included. All of Raven's weapons for the Hurricane are included, upgraded for SF2 usage. These are ALL the weapons, for all his Hurricanes (as there are several other mods in the works). If you have them from another Hurri pak, just allow the overwrite. Note: the Vickers guns are mapped to 'fire_primary_gun', and the ranging 303s are mapped to 'fire_secondary_gun'. So, have you stick/keys set accordingly. As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. In contains the 'changelog' of tweeks/modifications/and whatnots. Good Hunting! wrench kevin stein Click here to download this file
  15. you mean the black/white unders? I actually tried that, but it didn't work right for me on fuselage (of coures, one could cheat, and just do the wings/tail under in Night -- some photo seem to indicate a 'aluminium dope' on the fueleage in Egypt, with the black/whit wings)
  16. also, check for an "AircaftObject.ini" that dosen't match the game setting (rename it, if one is there, and see what happens)
  17. it's odd that WITH the modern birds, things work; and withOUT them, it's goes to hell. and if you think THATs odd...in my MTO/ETO installs, the stock Desert terrain don't work!!! Locks/Freezes/Crashes, flying for axis or allies. must be something hard coded that requires one 'modern aircraft' but it definately sounds llike the campaing ini need major reworking
  18. those would just be rocket propelled artillery or ground launched cruise missiles. since we already have working SCUDs, making working V-1/V-2 would't be that hard. And since NA, we can shoot down cruise missiles...making it possible to intercept/down the Buzz Bombs
  19. no, we don't have one, per se there once was a 'wish list thread', but i don't recall where it went
  20. yes, unfortunately Veltro2K's G.222/C-27 was pulled
  21. it's more than likely an issue wth the campaing ini itself, or a terrain issue (don't forget, some of the early ETO terrains -ok, the EAW Europe terrain) - had a targeting update that the campaign ini probably wasn't built for. Or missing objects/aircraft/etcs a little more info, brother! Which terrain? which campaign, etc??? (but I'm NOT a campaign dude!!)
  22. File Name: SF2 WW2 Gloster Gladiator Mk.2 and Sea Gladiator by Cocas File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 24 November 2012 File Category: Other SF2 WW2 Gloster Gladiator Mk.2 and Sea Gladiator by Cocas -- Something for the WW2 ETO/MTO players -- = For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) = *This mod will most likely =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs, due to some of the modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment, expecially in the case of the latest MAX exported user to create them. Users that try, do so at their own risk.* Some modification, tweeks, reskin and so forth for Cocas's fun little Gladiators; this package contains SF2 =ONLY= versions of his Gladiator Mk.2 and Sea Gladiator. Skins and decals included are... Gladiator Mk.2 112 Squadron, RAF as seen at Helwan, Egypt 1940 1 Squadron, SAAF, in East Africa 1940-ish 1ère Escardrille de Chasse, Belgian AF, 1940 Sea Gladiator, Royal Navy RN Markings are rather 'generic'; the first 18 serials are those that HMS Eagle dropped off on Malta, and eventually became the Hal Far Fighter Flight. Those 100% historicaly known to have been used on Malta are marked with a star (*). All skins are in jpg format. Decal Randomization is set to TRUE for all skins. New SF2 hangar screens are included, as is a destroyed model, pilot figure, and engine sound. You shoud have the 303 MGs in your /Guns folder already; it is not supplied herein. When 'in game', you'll see "Gladiator Mk.II (KAF)" and "Sea Gladiator (KAF)" on the drop down menu. This will differentiate it from any other Gladiators you may (or may not) have. (the KAF stands for Kermit Aircraft Factory ) The canopy opens/closes with the Standard Animation Keystroke, Shift/0. The Sea Gladiator is fully carrier qualified, and has the latest SF2NA statements for carrier basing (on those terrains that have CV Zones built into them) As an Extra Added Bonus, for use in the Med, some Regia Marina warships, Cavour Class BB Condottieri Class CL/CA Navigatori Class DD and HMS Eagle. Other Royal Navy ships (UK) can be found in the PTO ships pak. All are UPconverted for SF2NA-style usage. As with all the ships, they need more work on adding more 2ndary and AAA guns, but at least you'll have something floating around! (please note, they are now named differently from the ones used on the Westen Desert, Tunisia and WW2 Libya maps. Updates for those terrains _types inis are in 'the works' and will be relasesed in the VERY near future. I hope!!) As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please =READ= them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. Happy Landings! wrench kevin stein Click here to download this file
  23. couldn't have done it with YOUR help, and Lloyd's templates!!! That Belgian skin of his is just a beaut!!!
  24. probably not, unless Baff does a 'what if WW2 46 version'. The operatinal lifespan was sorta short, what with jets taking over everything. (read: F-3D Skyknight -- which we don't have). AND.. they were too big/heavy to operate from the Essex class boats (they were designed for Midway class and Operation Olympic, but the Navy found no real use for them, and dumped them on the Marines. Who made good use of them)
  25. European Theatre of Operations Mediterranean Theatre of Operations as diferentiated from ... Pacific Theatre of Operations (where my father was -eastern and central pacific, not to exclude New Guinea, Solomons, Phillipines, etc) China-Burma-India Theatre of Operations (usually just state as "CBI")
