  2. File Name: SF2 WW2 FAA F6F-5 Hellcat Skin and Ini Update Pak File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 14 November 2012 File Category: F4F / F6F / F7F / F8F SF2 WW2 FAA F6F-5 Hellcat Skin and Ini Update Pak -- For Geo's Hellcat -- = For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) = *Note: Mod may =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs, due to the excessive modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment. It uses more SF2NA style statements, and a fancy SF2-only "switches" that absolutely don't work in 1stGens* *Note #2: this model will update the SF2 version of Geo's F6F-5, that I uploaded some time ago. The aircraft/skin pak is available at the following URL: http://combatace.com/files/file/13316-sf2-ww2-pto-f6f-hellcat-pak/ This is to be applied AFTER installing the above mentioned, and/or directly OVER you existing aircraft, for those that have it already. Included in this pak are: A new skin for 1844 Naval Air Squadron, FAA, as serving with the BPF aboard HMS INDOMITABLE, in late 44-thru 45. The skin is still in the original tga format, and decal randomization is set to TRUE. And... updated data, loadout 'main' inis, and a new Userlist.ini with (hopefully!) correct exportation dates. Dates are rounded to the closest whole year. The data ini has a slightly refined FM (which, honestly DOES need further tweeking by experts). Certain nation-centric SF2 only 'switches' have been applied when selecting the FAA skins and FAA-specific loadouts will be generated. "New" Royal Navy type weapon(s) are included (ok, 1 new rocket set; all the bombs are the standard RAF type) Drop tank is not inclued; it's in the original pak. Also, a new FAA-themed hangar screen When in game, select the F6F-5, and "Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm" for the service, and have at them! As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please READ them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too for futher explinations, clarifactions, illuminations and so forth. Good Hunting! wrench kevin stein Click here to download this file

  4. could you be a bit less vauge?? WHICH ww2 carriers??? VICTORIOUS? SYDNEY?????, SCB-125s, CVL, or CVE??? they all work are you flying for the correct service? correct dates (meaning, anytime after 1945)? did you build you mods folder from the SF2NA exe??? not a lot to go on here...
  5. I HAVE templates, my patented Home Grown Variety ™, for Geo's Hellcat, if anyone wants to take on early FAA camo. unfortunately, the wings don't fold. But.... just saying!
  6. ok, everyone that wants too, give this a try. REMEMBER!!! you MUST have built you PTO mods folder from SF2NA, or be Full-5 merged, as NA statments and water bmp are used. I'd also suggest backing up the following inis: CentralPacific.ini CentralPacfic_Targets.ini CentralPacific_Nations.ini as a CYA measure. if this works, then I'll upload this to the /Terrains downlaods section unzip, and drop into the CentralPacific terrain folder don't forget the working carriers; both US and IJN
  7. like WK said, that 's a Baltimore or Maryland .. look at the shape of the fuseleage 'neck up' aft of the turret first one is definately a Bf110
  8. I have bpao's max file for his uncompleted Mk.IX... 'within the realm of possibility' that it could also be down converted to MK.V, VTrop and Seafire III screenie is a 'test skin'; the aircraft needs further work and animations and stuff. Mapped the same as the Mk.1 and Mk 8 recently released (problaby from same source file)
  9. might have to do with the 'inivisible airfields' that were used originally, since we didn't have CV zones back then. I'll have to chekc mine, and see if I updated it (btw, anyone notice that I got it wrong on the positioning of the US task forces!!!)
  10. Gladiator?? Found it, and a Sea Gladiator version, sitting in my MTO /Aircraft folder. It's definately NOT the DAT version, as the skin and LOD naming conventions are completly different. So, anyone have any idears??? thanks!
  11. Thanks Daniel! for both; the info on Pancake is most welcome!! and the Gladiators, too! ... Malta, here we come!
  12. which means that Ant has to brave the Deadly English Attic Spider once again....(we don't have a spider smiley!!)
  13. again, depenging... a lot of the LendLease airraft had markings applied at the factory (Grumman, Vought, etc), and 'american style' paints and codes were applied. on the Martlets I just released, the Mk.IV (iirc) uses 'american' style lettering. Sometime we use the 'best closest fit' but if someone come up with the exact font, I could sure it!!!
  14. File Name: SF2 WW2 Hawker Hurricane IIC (MTO/DAF), by Raven File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 12 November 2012 File Category: Hurricane SF2 WW2 Hawker Hurricane IIC (MTO/DAF), by Raven -- Something for the WW2 ETO/MTO players -- = For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) = *There is a distinct possibility that this mod will work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs. However, due to some of the modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment, all the features will NOT be working as designed. But it SHOULD work!* Some modification, tweeks, reskin and so forth for Raven's excellent Hurri 2C, create a semi-dedicated version for North Africa/Western Desert/MTO usage. Originally, I was just going to do an 'update pak', but it was just as easy to assemble a Full Aircaft Package. This was done simply for 'ease of use' (read: laziness!!! ). The LOD fix has already been applied. A new Desert camo skin for 213 Squadron was created from Raven's templates. The decals are 'retreads' from my original 1stGen skin. This skin is still in bmp format. Decal randomization is TRUE. As all the markings are decals, it would be quite easy for other skinners to recreate other squadron that used the IIC Trop in the Western Desert/North Africa/Italy/MTO/etc. Data ini edits add the 'destroyed model' statements; the destroyed model is also included (from the WW2 terrains, and works perfectly!). Mission statements have been adjusted to maximize on the Ground Attack potential; A-A statement have been limited to CAP/Intercept. FM has not been touched; it flys just fine in SF2. Other ini edits replace the gunsight with my old EAW Pappa Romeo conversion (done for us old folks with old eyes; this is much easier to see!). The pilot figure was also swapped for something more 'tropical' looking. A new SF2 version of my original "Box Art" hangar screen and a NEW Desert-themed Loading screen, are included. All of Raven's weapons for the Hurricane are included, upgraded for SF2 usage. These are ALL the weapons, for all his Hurricanes (as there are several other mods in the works). Odds are, that those that know how, will have already made the SF2 conversion; this is done as a "CYA Measure" for those that haven't, are d/ling for the first time, or just because! All other RAF WW2-style bombs are included as well. When 'in game', you'll see "Hurricane Mk.IIc Trop (Raven)" on the drop down menu. This will differentiate it from any other IICs you may (or may not) have. As always, fairly easy to follow, highly detailed install instructions are included. So, please =READ= them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. With Thanks To Raven for the bird, and the OK to tweek her! Good Hunting! wrench kevin stein Click here to download this file

  20. AttachmentType= should read JAPAN (some also may say Japanese Empire; this is a CYA move) the individual weapon's data inis should also read "Japan" AttachmentType=JAPAN SpecificStationCode= NationName=Japanese Empire for both IJN and IJAAF and... just as important, do you have ther correct WW2 nations.ini in the /Flight folder (always have to ask that!)

Also, some of the SF2 only "switches" will NOT work in 1stGens.* A brand "new" model that was never completed when Bpao passed away a few year back. I've been fortunate enough to be allowed to complete his work, as a member of the Mod Mafia. This is the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm Corsair Mk.1 as seen 1943-ish, when first issued to RN squadron. It should be noted, that almost NONE of the Mk.1s were used in combat, but mostly for training as the Mk.II followed right on it's heels. Essentially, this is the "Birdcage" Corsair. Unlike the Mk.II and Mk.IV, these never got the "clipped wings", and had very limited use aboard RN Carriers. Like the USMC/USN Birdcage, it is fully combat-capable, but in Real Life ™ was rarely used so. Skin/Decals are included are for: 1830 Squadron, as seen at New Brusnwick, Maine (USA) before transport to the UK. All skins are in jpg format. Decals are used for all markings, and Randomization is TRUE. A "new" SF2 style hangar screen was created for this aircraft. Damage textures are the old tga versions. A user list is included; operational service dates have been rounded to the closest whole Year (ie: 1943), even though its a "Nationalized" version. The aircraft is fully carrier capable. The canopy operates via the Standard Animation Keystorke ™ of Shift/0. Breaking with Modder Tradition, the wingfold operates via the "airbrakes" key. I didn't change to the standard Shift/9, as the last time I did it, I broke it!. So, it is as it was originally set by Bpao. All lighting is historically accurate. WW2 weapons (ie: bombs, rockets) are NOT included. You should have them already. The drop tank is, as is the pilot figure and engine sounds (which you may also have already!). when 'in game', you'll see "Corsair Mk.I "Birdcage" (TMF)" in the aircraft selection drop-down window.
