ok, since we have working RN carriers (except Eagle -she's acting up on me!), I went and fiddled with the WW2 Tunisia/Western Med map, and added a CV station. And it works a charm! Now, the question is, should I add another, further east (as seen in Pink on the screenie below) The green on would work well for Pedestal (albit maybe a bit west?) and the pink one for, say Op Judgement (Taranto) since i've not found too many references of RN CV ops further east of Malta...???? thoughts, ideas?Comments?? Questions?? (btw, "new" Martles and Sea Hurri coming in the not too distant future -the SeaHurri shot is the terrain test I just ran, with the new 880 skin. Raven's Hurri's are BEAUTS!!!) -

what I posted above IS the ini for the F-104S pylon set. look in your /Weapons folder for F-104S as to the pit1 ... [LOD001] Filename=pit1.lod Distance=6000 [shadow] CastShadow=FALSE ShadowCastDist=500 MaxVisibleDistance=2000 copy/paste the text above into a blank notepad sheet, and "Save As..." pit1.ini -

the green looks about right to me.. but check you numbers ... the 'modex' for all them were based upon the squadron, and were 3 digit (100, 200, 300 series) -

it's not the fuel tanks, but the pit1.lod that has the issue (open/unmatched meshes). It was reported to TK 2+years ago by yours truely. easy fix...if you have any of my recent terrain mods, look for "pit1.ini" in the terrain folder. Copy/paste that into EVERY terrain folder you have. that'll fix the problem (it's been edited to turn shadows "OFF") edit: did't see the Superzipper .. look for the F104S pylon set, and see if the ini has shadows turned on. if so, turm them off!! [WeaponData] ObjectFullName=F-104S Pylons ObjectDataFile=F-104S_data.INI [LOD001] Filename=F-104S_1.LOD Distance=1200 [shadow] CastShadow=TRUE <---- set to false ShadowCastDist=2000 MaxVisibleDistance=100 -
SF2 WW2 F4U-1C Corsair by Mod Mafia/TMF
Wrench posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
File Name: SF2 WW2 F4U-1C Corsair by Mod Mafia/TMF File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 19 November 2012 File Category: F4U SF2 WW2 F4U-1C Corsair by Mod Mafia/TMF = For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) = *Note: There is a distinct probability that this mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs at any patch level. Due to the excessive modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment. End Users that attempt to do so, do so at their own risk. A Full 4/5 Merged install is reccomened at the LATEST patch level; at very minimum, SF2:V is required, as this aricraft references the A-1H's destroyed model. Also, due to some bmp mapping in dds format, there are some things that just make it impossilbe for 1stGen to generate. At all.* *Note #2: this model will REPLACE, in it's entirety, those using Wolf's as a base. You may (well, should!) delete that mod completly; both the aircraft and decals folders. These, again, will replace them.* A brand new model, based on Bpao's F4U-1D, converted to the F4U-1C by RussoUK2004. With Extra Expecial Thanks to Russ for MAX work on the model; he truely made this variant possible! He went 'above and beyond' to fix some issues I was having. This is the F4U-1C Corsair, as seen from early 1945 unitl the end of the War. Skin/Decals set included are for: USN/USMC: VBF-85, aboard USS SHANGRI LA VMF-311, aboard USS BRETON (CVE-23) VMF-331, land based on Okinawa All skins are in jpg format, Decal Randomization is TRUE. New SF2-style hangar screens are included (watch the switch when flying Marine squadrons). Damage textures are the old tga versions. The "prop fix" from the Birdcage and -1A/-1D variants has already been applied to the mod. USN Air Group markings are the "G" system, and are painted on the skins. This system was used from Jan 1945 to July 1945, when Air Group marking began changing the now in-use "Letter" style. My research has shown that many squadron still were using G-symbols on VJ-Day (although, in truth, Shangri La DID start using it's "Z" code in July. Photos prove this!!). Decals are used for most other markings, and Randomization is set to TRUE. A user list is included; operational service dates have been rounded to the closest whole Year (ie: 1944). The aircraft is fully carrier capable. The canopy operates via the Standard Animation Keystorke of Shift/0. Breaking with Modder Tradition, the wingfold operates via the "airbrakes" key. I didn't change to the standard Shift/9, as the last time I did it, I broke it!. So, it is as it was originally set by Bpao. All lighting is historically accurate. WW2 weapons (ie: bombs, rockets) are NOT included. You should have them already. The drop tank is, as is the pilot figure and engine sounds (which you may also have already!). A new 20mm gun, created by Russo, is included as well. (thanks again!) Also, I've preformed a slight "Cheat" on the VMF-311 skin; it's Nation tagged as "USN", because for some reason, nowadays, USMC Air Units are relegated to Land- based Ops only. By doing so, I've allowed the Game Engine to generate them aboard ship. when 'in game', you'll see "F4U-1C Corsair (TMF)" in the aircraft selection drop- down window. This will diferentiate it from any other -1Cs you may (or may not) have. As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please READ them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too for futher explinations, clarifactions, illuminations and so forth. Good Hunting! For Oli Click here to download this file -

I'll take care if, ASAP sorry fellas!! ------------------------- edit: ok....now I'm confused. the one paulo's was showing is NOT the one I have... this one has some 'incompletness' about it... the deck edge antennas are not attached to the hull, and there's no gun crews (or the quad 40s...) so, looks like a 'whcha got there, bro', is in order to paulo!! -

All new decals were created for Codes and serial numbers. Decal randomization is TRUE. As all the markings are decals (excepting the national markings), it would be quite easy for other skinners to recreate other RN squadrons that used this mark Sea Hurri, as the Temperate Sea Scheme was used throughout the North Atlantic and Med. A new SF2 style hangar screen included. All of Raven's weapons for the Hurricane are included, upgraded for SF2 usage. if you have the latest desert cat* (08 or above), you can extract the 6 airfield inis, and drop them into the Palestine terrain folder. or download one of my later terrains, that have them all inside (Eritrea, Persian Gulf, most of the WW2 PTO, etc). IF not, I can always shoot them too you * you DO have the desert cat in you FE /Terrain folder, right??? -

baff, chk in the BOB terrain's _data ini, you'll have to scroll thrugh the whole thing to check each tile listing... you're looking for these lines (in bold) [Texture001] Filename=CITY1.BMP HasWater=0 HeightMap=CITY1_hm.BMP HeightMapScale=0.000000 Color=0.369126,0.384046,0.307429 SolidObjectTexture=terobject_buildings1.BMP AlphaObjectTexture=terobject_trees1.TGA and there should be a matching TOD with the same name as the tile (ie: Sea2Desert.TOD) I'll have to crawl around the map, and see. If I can find, or get, the textureset ini, adding them's not too much work (well, stock TOD buildings at least!) I know there's several skins and other Mods for Pasko's Stuka, in 1stGen downloads section -
getting them 'in game' is actually the easy part ...well, for me anyway. I'm overwhelmed with jealousy at ALL the 3D Guys . I wrote a little tutorial on 'how too...' some time ago. http://combatace.com/topic/44621-adding-objects-to-your-target-areas/ the only difference here is, you need to add the object to the terrain's _types.ini first, place the objects (lod, bmp/tga/shd/ini) into the terrain folder and go from there. EXEPETION: vehicles get placed in the /GroundObject folder, with their required 'parts'; expecially a data ini, as they can show up on ArmedRecon missions as targets any questions on how or what, just ask! I'm not too far away

actually, iirc, there's a lot of FE coding in SF2; (I hate saying this in the FE Forums for fear of being stoned/hung/drawn-quatered/etc, but for early 30 SF2 may be one of the better ways to go. Not having any problems with CR42/Gladiator/etc (of course, these are fixed-gear bird, but..) ducks and runs.....

the BoB terrain could use some VERY small updating, but i've been flying over it testing my RAF/FAA birds. Works fine in sf2. we still have your CR42, Daniel. Been fighting them with your Gladiator!! screenie below is part of the re-work on the Mk.2 -- still getting the id letter 'to size'. Sea Glad coming along nicely, too! we do need new RA birds. Daniel: here's another source (don't know if i gave this one out...) http://modelfan.ru/ unfortunately, they're not very organized, so scrolling through 96 pages, with 8-10 listng per page takes time. ps: I've also 'pinned' this topic, so it don't get lost! -
