  1. too many decals per mesh (most likely) and/or defective tga -although those usually turn the aircraft white
  2. ABC's "LAST RESORT" Nuke sub boomer show

interetering, but like Revolution, full of holes. I wasn't aware of an 'extended range' Trident, that could reach nearly 18000 miles from teh Indian Ocean to the US east cosat (by flying over Indiania????) however, I'll be watching it to see where it take us...
  3. File Name: SF2 AD-2/3 Skyraider, Korean War File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 27 September 2012 File Category: A-1 SF2 AD2/3 Skyraider = For Your Korean War Flying Pleasure = = For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged, (Reccomended/Preferred) = *Note: you MUST have SF2:V as part of your merged install. This aircraft references the A-1H lod from SF2V, and will =NOT= work without it.* This is a mod of the 3rdWire A-1H Skyraider, to the earlier AD-2/3 version as used by the USN and USMC during the Korean War. It was thrown together as an experiment some long time ago, and I thought you all would like to have it, "just because". The aircraft is supplied with 2 skins: VA-35, "Black Panthers" US Navy, USS Leyte 1950 * VMA-121 "Wolf Raiders", USMC, Pyongteak, 1950-53 This is a complete aircraft (well, minus the Stock Lod ™ of course!), with a new radar-equipped cockpit by Dels. Skins are still in bmp format, making it usable in all SF2 merged game installs with access to the A-1H.lod. The skins are new from my Home Grown Templates ™, in the 1950s Dark Gloss Navy Blue; all markings are decals and are Randomized. BuNums are accurate for the aircraft variant depicted, but not for the actual ones used by the squadrons; consider them 'generic' for that purpose. The 'USMC50s' pilot figure, AN/APS-4 radar pod and engine sounds are included. The only weapon included is the 120 gallon drop tank. Bombs and rockets reference those WW2 units from the GunnyPak, and are NOT included (simple edits can make the stock 3W ones usable, if one has Expansion Pak 1). Wingfold is NOT activated, but the canopy is. Use the Usual Suspect (shift/0) to open and close it. All lighting is hisotrically correct. As always, fairly easy to follow, highly detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. Please. Good Hunting! wrench kevin stein *note: VA-35 may have actually used AD-4s as opposed 2/3... my references were a little vague on the point* Click here to download this file
  4. DBP airfield is on the map; but one would need to rewrite the targets ini and movement ini to change the 'front line'. It's doable; just a lot of work (to say nothing of adding the French base camp) unfortunately, a goodly number of the period-correct aircraft are not readily avaiable (but there is a french skin for Geo's Bearcat)

  6. eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. yes, A-A missiles are rocket boosted to max speed, then coast on inertia to the target. There are no sustainer motors to keep propelling them like cruise missiles. So, the behavior presented IS correct
  8. we must have missed that one. Oh well!!! (if you follow my drift...)
  9. no, but there's generic one that are stock (3rd Wire "FrenchSilver1, for 2-FAF) remember, all the early stuff V2K has done has been pulled
  10. I've experienced the 'airquakes' it generates, both here at home in LA and in Las Vegas. The one in Vegas actually made the evening news that night
  11. pull the decals ini for the stock Essex ... it'll give the coodinates and decal size (that's how I got them to work on the What If RAN Essex)
  12. Welcome To My New Grandson

    congratulations on the addition!!
  13. SA-341 Gazelle for SF2

    Version

SA-341 Gazelle Helicopter by Kesselbrut = For SF2, Any & All = Some revamping for Kesselbrut's fine little light attack/observation helicopter, with some upgrades for SF2. This is the complete aircraft, with all the necessary bits; weapons (some new!), pilots, sounds, etc, ready to unzip and install. A full 'changelog' is in the "Notes" section below. Along with the orignial skin (for the Falklands), 5 new skins have been created, thanks to Sundowner finding the templates! They are: French Army (overall green) Desert (overal tan with Generic nation tag) Desert 2 Tone (green/tan, with Generic nation tag) Green (overall, with Generic nation tag) Euro Camo (with Generic nation tag) All skins are in jpg format. Decal positions have been plotted , so when selecting a service, the appropriate insignia will appear. Those skins with the 'generic' tag will show the correct insignia, and can be used as the base to build specific nations. On the subject of decals, no individual numbers are supplied, nor their positions plotted. But that should be fairly easy, given 'known' positions. As always, fairly easy to follow, highly detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. The original release readme is also included, for historical purposes Happy Hunting! wrench kevin stein
  14. by default, ALL the SF2 games are merged; there is NO option to do otherwise.... every single one of the exes reference the exact same cats, dlls, etc. I think folks are confusing 'mods folders' with the core game files. all one needs to do, is open the /Objects/Aircraft folders for all the mods folders and compare them ... you'll find SF2I aircraft in SF2NA, and vice versa. And all the terrains are also readily avilable from each game install. IIRAF skins are also available from 3rdWire F-14 skinpak DLC. (for purchase from 3W) and to our newest member, Welcome! I'd suggest that you spend some time in BOTH of our Knowledge Bases; the one for SF/Wo* and SF2. There's a lot of answers readily availble. and most importantly ... Have Fun!
  15. you know we have a PAF P-26, right? It'll need a new FM, but the markings are correct for Dec 41 (it's somewhere in the 1stGen downloads -- i don't remember where). someday, I must scan Dad's pictures from the war, and post them in the gallery. Shots from Tacloban, Manila, various and sundry stuff. He always wanted to go back and vist; he just loved the people. Never managed too, though
  16. just do this in the main Phillipines.ini: [Terrain] TerrainFullName=Phillippines (1944) <---note corrected spelling! DataFile=Phillipines_data.INI TargetFile=Phillipines_targets.INI TargetTypeFile=Phillipines_types.INI MovementFile=Phillipines_movement.INI NationsFile=Phillipines_nations.INI BriefingText=Phillipines_briefing.INI DogfightFile=Phillipines_dogfight.INI DogfightOnly=FALSE //CatFile=..\Desert\Desert.cat //CatFile=..\GermanyCE\GermanyCE.cat CatFile=..\VietnamSEA\VietnamSEA.cat NavalMap=TRUE WaterMap=Phillipines_Water.bmp LimitedNations=TRUE that's the name displayed in the terrain dropdown menu. Otherwise, one would need to renamed the TFD, HFD, main ini and the folder. (and yes, my father were he still alive, would slap me silly for spelling it wrong. He was there 45-46) Jeff, have you tried another cockpit? Say, the original Wolf Dauntless pit?? Just as an experiment, you see.
  17. when you created the PTO install, did you edit the options ini to adjust the start/end years? Are there actually single missions in the /Missions folder? A campaign shouldn't change any of that stuff if you rename the solomons campaign stuff (folder), do the single missions come back? if you open the various msn files, they tell you what terrain is required: [MissionHeader] AircraftType=Ki-61 MissionMap=NewGuinea2 MissionType=CAP StartTime=12:00:00 StartDate=04/05/1943 are the terrains present? other questions would be, do you have the correct Nations.ini and Formations.ini for WW2?? speaking of Korea, you ain't seen nothing ... the one we've been working on for SF2 has the single most detailed terrain ever built for this game; anything else is just poseing. (and yes, with minimal editing, it will work in 08 level 1stGens)

However, lack of clear shots of the tail made me 'guess' as to the use of the fin flash. I think it looks nice, so I left it on (some seem to have had it, some not) As always, fairly easy to follow, yet fairly detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. 20. the Kill Yamamoto mission requres the PAW1 terrain (I d/led both last night to cross check). So, if using my rebuild of the Solomons map, it won't work, as it's the wrong terrain, which is why that mission is not showing up. It's looking for something that isn't there. The PAW1 terrain is ... well....not up to par, even by 2008 standards. If one wanted to fly it, the mission would have to be rebuilt usinig the Solomons V3 terrain. Relatively easy in SF2, what with it's built-in mission editor. For 1stGens you're kinda stuck with Le Missioner or QMD thingy
  21. Cocas Birthday!

Happy Birthday Daniel!! now ... lets parteeee!!!
  22. if a mission is in the folder, but not available from the dropdown it usually means: an aircraft is unavaliable (for either side) or, wrong terrain not personally famailar with it, so that's all I can add (safely! -meaning to not steer you wrong) for the missing guns, you might need a weapons pak, as they usually contain guns as well. Which is odd, as the originals Lightnings were all configured for stock 20mm Hispano and 50.cals
  23. I HATE working with DDS skins - some of the KAW birds use them, and the templates (psd) are so frakking HUGE!!! they choke both PS 6 and 7!! if HD space in not an issue, maybe bmp. I've been doing a lot of WW2 stuff to jpg, but honestly ... I'm not really happy with. They 'look' the same in game but I've always got this nagging feeling in the back of mind. Yah, that Jug skin is AWESOME!!
