F-86 Sabre Pack, Pakistani Air Force
Wrench replied to Wrench's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
we had started new models for all the Sabres....unfortunately, they may not materalize. as for the 15, there was one in the works, but ???? Most likely go with TKs from ExpPak1 (there is a FM for that, but I don't recall if I got it or tested it. I prolly do, but again... busy sking Shooting STars, Sabres, and everydamnthing else!) note to self: get back to work on the decals (after replacing HD --it's going bad, so I'm VERY busy trying to save/backup stuff --like EVERYTHING!!!) -
Does anyone know what causes this decal problem?
Wrench replied to Geary's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
might help to know what plane; some of the very old modles DO have mesh issues -

SF2 WW2 CAC Wirraway Pak by bunyap -- Something for the Oz PTO players -- = For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) = *There is a distinct possibility that this mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs, due to the excessive modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment.* This package contains bunyap's CAC Wirraway, modded to SF2, as seen in New Guinea 1942-43(ish). The skin represents 4 Squadron, RAAF at this early war time period. This is the complete aircraft, with all new skin and decals. New (semi)compliant SF2 FM was cobbled together. As has become expected, the FM is NOT perfect, and needs further fine-tuning by Experts. All skins are in jpg format, and decal randomization is set to TRUE. As always, fairly easy to follow, highly detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. Remember -- these are very old models, so they "are as they is". The original readme is included. For our friends Down Under!! Good Hunting! Tu-142 'Bear-F', Indian Naval Air Service = For SF2 series Games, Full 5 Merged and/or SF2NA ONLY!! = -An addition for the Indo-Pak Mod- *As stated above you MUST have a Full-5 Merged install with SF2:NA to gain access to the Tu-95RT lods this mod requires. If you do not meet this minimum requirement, do =NOT= download this, as you'll be unable to use it.* Ini mods, redecaling, etc, of the stock SF2NA Tu-95RT recreate (a passble) Tu-142 Bear-F as used by 312 Squadron "Albatross" of the INAS. All textures are jpg format; this should pose no issues for users at the latest patch level (April 2012 or later) Although a cockpit IS provided, it's "suggested" that the aircraft be left under AI control. Several 'issues' have recently appeared on non-radar equipped cockpits for player use. I built this, basically, to have something 'interestering' parked around the large airbases. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. Please READ them! Also, the "Notes" section for more details, as there are a few small differences in the INAS Real Life version, from the 3W one. Good Hunting! wrench kevin stein -
Creating the Era/Theatre Specific WW2 Install
Wrench posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - World War II Forum
Well, it's pretty much covered in the SF/Wo* Knowledge Base, but I think it's time to repost in here http://combatace.com...ecific-install/ Basically, the instructions are the same for creating ANY 'Theatre/Era/Whathaveyou' type of install, as we all know EDIT: just ignore the bits & references about the 1stGen 06 patch. We're in SF2 now, my friends! You'll be using an SF2 exe of your choice!! :) 1) Copy/paste **.exe of your choice (for WW2, the SF2NA.exe is suggested as it seems to support carrier/naval operations better than any other) up and back into your C:\Program Files (x86)\ThirdWire\Strike Fighters 2 folder. It'll show as ***-copy.exe. You rename to whatever theatre you want, say PTO.exe. 2) Create new shortcut for the PTO.exe. 3) click shortcut, and allow the game to build the new mods folder. Pick a plane, and start a mission. Sit in the cockpit for a few seconds, and exit. Exit game. From here on, it's pretty much the same as in the link above. Now, you can start adding the various ground objects, terrains, aircrafts, sounds, guns, nekked wemon, menu screens, etc. Also, remember, you MUST have the nations ini with the various WW2 nations resident in the /Flight folder. Create that folder, if doesn't exist already further questions, comments, etc; just ask!! wrench kevin stein- 1 reply

File Name: SF2 WW2 PTO Generic Menu Screens Pak File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 12 September 2012 File Category: SF2 Series Add On Objects SF2 WW2 PTO "Generic" Menu Screens Pak = For SF2, Any and All, PTO-Centric Based Mods Folders This is just a simple pak of Menu Screens for use in Pacific Theatre based mods folders. These will replace a11 of the stock ones, while keeping the same layout for all the clickable hot-spots. (as the templates I made to make them, keep all the same setups. You get: Loadingscreen Debriefscreen LoadoutScreen Mainscreen MedalListScreen OptionsScreen PilotRecordsScreen PlanningMapScreen RosterScreen SingleMissionScreen. All are in jpg format, and are already divided into the 2 folders where they'll reside (/Flight and /Menu) for simple drag/drop into your Mod Folder ™. Also included are WW2-themed in-game map icons from 1stGen WW2 mods, that change the 'jet' shapes to prop planes. I can't find any info on who made them, so I canNOT any take credit for something that isn't mine. These are usable in any WW2 Era install. As always, easy to follow instuctions are in the 'To Install' section. Enjoy wrench kevin stein Click here to download this file -

SAABs have funny clutch arrangements (90series) ... but fairly easy to replace; right from under the hood. Special tools requried, that weren't too expensive just being silly... -
SF2 WW2 PTO P-39/P400 Airacobra Pak

File Name: SF2 WW2 PTO P-39/P400 Airacobra Pak File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 11 September 2012 File Category: Other SF2 WW2 PTO P-39/P400 Airacobra Pak -- Something for the PTO players -- = For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) = *There is a distinct possibility that this mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs, due to the excessive modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment.* Mods/reskins/redecaling for Wolf257's WW2 aircaft. This package contains 2 complete aircraft, broken down by aircraft and skins: P-39D 36th FS, 8th FG in early 1942 ("meatball" star) 39th FS, 35th FG, mid-1942 41st FS, 35th FG, late-1943 (star & bar, white tail) P-400 39th FS, 35th FS, early 1942 (RAF camo & serials) All skins are in jpg format, and are brand new builds for this mod. Decal Randomization is TRUE. . Due to both aircraft sharing the same lod, all skins are fully interchangable with each other. A new cockpit, Stary's 'Midwar #3' replaces both the modded Hurri pit I'd been using, and the original Wolf pits. Both new SF2 versions of the original 'box art' hangar screen. Damage textures are the old tga ones. Both have semi-compliant SF2 Flight Models, but they do need further fine tuning by experts (it's actually TOO good!). All lighting is 100% historically correct. As always, fairly easy to follow, highly detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. Remember -- these are very old models, so "they are as they is". All original readmes, when discoverable, are included. Good Hunting! wrench kevin stein Click here to download this file -

Ed, any chance of a revamp of yours???? After the Helldiver, of course. Guys, I mentioned this in the readme, but all the screenies attached are taken over the retiled New Guenia terrain. So, consider it a preview of the 'new' terrain as well Also, for those that have access to the DAT site, their P-38s have a GREAT 'allison.wav', that much closer ot Reality for the engine sound. having heard real ones, I tell ya that for a fact! -

I like the name of "WW2". I think we used 'prophead' more as a generic term, as anything with that fan in front (to cool down hot-headed pilots!), for the 1930-the mid 50. How about "WW2 Modding" ??? Just throwing out idears... -

I think JRL would like this Invader, by bobrock for KAW. In solid, gun nosed and glass-nosed versions. Working on getting them out, guys - no time frame (be good for late WW2 as well!!)
