  1. moving right along Ed!! is the nose really that long? looks like it matches the 3view.... been so long since i had the monogram 1/48th Helldiver.... can't wait to see the folding turtle deck! (maybe link it's fold, and rear guns deployment, to landing gear retraction? or a manual animation?? just ideas!)
  2. options ini start date adjutments? put it to 1930
  3. squadron tail color is wrong for the 300 series modex ... all Corsair squadrons were the 3rd & 4th the of air group, hence blue and yellow. (exept for the 2 squadon MAG on one of the CVLs) several of those are already covered for the -4 & -4B in KAW, down to BuNums.
  4. everytime somebody writes "ED" ... i keep seeing vaigra commercials....
  5. I take you've heard of the term "typo", yes??? Change 'CubaOTC' to "persian gulf', and the instructions are the same. I reallly can't make them any easier. As to the terrain cat, I'd suggest this: http://combatace.com...dding-terrains/ read the whole sub-forum, especially the 'selecting terrain cats' thread. It might be a good idea, being fairly new at this the read all the posts in the SF/Wo* Knowledge Base (90% of that data is still applicable to SF2), as well as all of them in the SF2 Knowledge Base. In the long run ™, that'll be time well spent! the instructions for installing terrain is the SAME for the entire SF series; the only difference for the SF2 series, is you must have a /Terrains folder in your mods folder wherein to install the new terrain sub-folder. When I upload a terrain, the ENTIRE terrain folder is ready to unzip and drop into your game install. as to YOUR cat issue ... safe to assume you do NOT have SF2?? That's where the desert.cat lies. In that case, you'll have to follow the instructions from the links above...and select one of the cat pointer lines provided in the PersianGulf.ini [Terrain] TerrainFullName=Persian Gulf DataFile=PersianGulf_data.INI TargetFile=PersianGulf_targets.INI TargetTypeFile=PersianGulf_types.INI MovementFile=PersianGulf_movement.INI NationsFile=PersianGulf_nations.INI BriefingText=PersianGulf_briefing.INI DogfightFile=PersianGulf_dogfight.INI DogfightOnly=FALSE WaterMap=PersianGulf_Water.bmp CatFile=..\Desert\Desert.cat //CatFile=..\GermanyCE\GermanyCE.cat //CatFile=..\VietnamSEA\VietnamSEA.cat Longitude=25.80 Latitude=52.08 LimitedNations=TRUE GroundObjectTexture=Tan NavalMap=TRUE the bold selections are catpointer lines for other stock terrain cats.
  6. i LIVE with the debug on; it's the major tool for use terraformers/targeteers!
  7. gun pack is up! what I really need to do is assemble the full ww2 sf2 wepons pak -- axis, allied, and whomever! i'll never finish KAW and the Panama map at this rate!!!
  8. don't use the AvHis ones .. the whole thing is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay over complicated!!! the WW2 guns are in the GunnyPak. If anyone else is having probs, I'll just zip and upload my whole /Guns folder (which will be necessary when I get the ships together, anyway) ww2 nations ini here: http://combatace.com/files/file/13095-ww2-nations-formations-inis/ i uploaded it in June
  9. File Name: F4U Corsair, WW2 Pak (Wolf257) File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 13 August 2012 File Category: F4U F4U Corsair WW2 Pak (Wolf257) = For SF2, Any & All (Full 5 Merged Reccomended*) = Designed for use =ONLY= in a stand-alone SF2-based WW2 PTO Mods Folder!!! *Note: Full-5 Merged reccomended, due to the use of SF2NA style 'carrier based' statements in the aircraft's data inis. Working WW2-era aircraft carriers (and escorts) are required as well as Terrains with working SF2NA-style _water.bmps and NavalMap=TRUE). There is a 98.6% probability that this mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs, due to the excessive modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment. Please note, that in the case of NavalMap Terrains, USMC & RNZAF aircraft =WILL= be flying off carriers, regardless that said aircraft versions/squadrons did or did not in Real Life ™. It's a Game Engine "bug" that can only be fixed by have both a land-based and carrier-based version of the aircraft (ie: "Nationalized")* This is a compliation of all the work done to date on Wolf257's Corsairs, from 1stGen WW2 mods, converted, adjusted, tweeked, etc, for use in the SF2 environment. This package is designed (read: WILL) replace all other previously released versions/variants/mods of these aircraft. This package holds 6 complete aircraft, with all their skins and decals: Corsair MK.IV (RNFAA- BPF) F4U-1 (USMC Birdcage 'Stand In') F4U-1A (USN, USMC, RNZAF) F4U-1D (USN, USMC, RNZAF) F4U-2 (Radar Equiped Nightfighter; USN, USMC) F4U-4 (USN, USMC) *by TMF, specific for WW2* For squadrons represented, just look in each aircraft's folder. New cockpits, from the TMF -4/-7/AU-1 are being used on the Mk.IV, -1D. The -2 is using the radar- equiped cockpit from the -5N. While not fully hisorically correct, they have the proper "look and feel" for the era. The -1 & -1A still uses the original Wolf cockpit. With a small "enhancement" Data inis (FM), loadouts, userlists, etc meet (almost, FM-wise) the latest standard. All skins are in Jpg format, and decal randomization is TURE. See 'Notes' for more details. All weapons are included, in SF2 formatting, as are sounds and a pilot figure. Supplied, for Optional Use, is a slightly modified SquadronList.ini, with small name changes to some USN & USMC squadrons, that may (or may not!) show the correct squadron name on the Loadout Screen. Also supplied is a 'backdated' SCB-125_Data.ini for SF2NA users that will allow the anachronism of a 1950s-era angled-deck Essex class CV to work in WW2 (that also has =NO= working guns!!). 10. small decal fix for the BPF Corsair IV; the CV tail code is missing! replace these statements in the decals ini with the ones' below ... [Decal003] MeshName=Vert_Tail DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=RIGHT FilenameFormat=Corsair_MkIV/1841/D/TLet Position=-5.05,1.10 Scale=0.75 DecalMaxLOD=3 [Decal004] MeshName=Vert_Tail DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=LEFT FilenameFormat=Corsair_MkIV/1841/D/TLet Position=-5.05,1.10 Scale=0.75 DecalMaxLOD=3 sorry about that!
  11. or just hit Alt/D twice it'll still come back on the next mission. Otherwise, edit the HUDData.ini like above
  12. action in the pacific.. "Last Dance of the Samuri" - Zekes launch against the US Fleet in the Phillipine Sea and.. they brought "Bungo Pete" with them!!!! Subs Beware!!
  13. and s**tloads of new transitions ... you'll need at least 3 dozen
  14. yes, it's called the 'texturelist.ini', and unfortunately you have to import all the tiles by hand, and place them by hand (excepting those areas were you can use the "flood" bucket.
  15. File Name: Curtiss P-40B Tomahawk, USAAC, Early WW2 File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 20 August 2012 File Category: P-40 Curtiss P-40B Tomahawk, USAAC Early War -- Something for the PTO players -- = For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) = *There is a distinct possibility that this mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs, due to the excessive modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment. You try so at your own risk; no support is/will be available for such attempts* This is a compliation pak of several of my 1stGen USAAC/AAF P-40B mods, recreating USAAC P-40Bs at the beginning of WW2. Based off Wolf's original RAF Tomahawk, now nationalized for American usege. This package contains 3 skin and decal sets: 47th Pursuit Squadron, Bellow Field, Hawaii; "Pearl Harbor Defender" -with Historical Markings. "USAAC"; representing the 24th Purusit Group in the Phillipines, Dec 8, 1941. Marking are 98% accurate - those units "closest" to the expected War Zone had slightly different markings they US Mainland units. There are 100 "plane-in-group' numbers, represening the 24th's 4 Squadrons. "The Sky Legion"; a fanciful skin based on the film "Sky Captain and the World of Tommorrow". Just for fun! If you don't want it showing up, simply rename the textureset.ini, and delete the entry from the P-40B.ini. The markings on BOTH the 47th PS and 24th PG are correct for the period. All skins are in jpg format, Decal Randomization is TRUE. A new SF2 version of the original 'box art' hangar screen is included . New DDS damage textures. A destroyed model is included, as is the in-line 'CRSPRP' engine sound (very Allison like!) "Time in Service" has been limited to 1940 start year, and a 'guesstimated' end service date of May, 1941. They were all pretty much used up by then, and replaced by D,E,and F models in the SoWesPac. All running lights are 100% correct for this aircraft. A semi-SF2 compliant Flight Model was "fiddled into being", but it does needs further fine tuning, as always, by experts. Even though THIS version is a non-exported aircraft, a Userlist.ini was created for it. Allowed Mission statements now more reflect the actual usage philosophy of the time frame. (no Strike, Anti-ship, or Sweep) The aircraft was designed more for a 'point defence interceptor', and has no provisions for external stores of any kind. As always, fairly easy to follow, highly detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. Original readmes, when discoverable, have been included for historical purposes. Good Hunting! wrench kevin stein Click here to download this file
  16. you're right, there's one in the FlightEngine.ini too terrain's a little more truncated: [TerrainMesh] TextureThreshold=0.80 LowDetailMeshThreshold=0.50 MedDetailMeshThreshold=0.30 TileToHeightGridRatio=4 RenderMeshVertexCount=4096 RenderMeshIndexCount=16384 SolidObjectVertexCount=12288 SolidObjectIndexCount=18432 AlphaObjectVertexCount=8192 AlphaObjectIndexCount=12288 [HeightField] DetailScale=1.0 DetailFrequency=1.0 MaxHeight=1000 MinHeight=0 [HeightOffset] LowDetailMesh=-1.5 WaterMesh=0.8
  17. it's in the *terrain-name*_data.ini
  18. RAF_PW_ATH is the font name. ther's also an RCAF one, thats slightly 'fatter'
  19. Sen Baku notice a difference? (still trying to run down the air group marking for Chitose; i've exhausted all the normal channels!!)
  20. File Name: P-47D Thunderbolt & P-38 Lightning, SoWesPac File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 18 August 2012 File Category: P-47 Thunder(bolt) and Lightning In SoWesPac -P-47D-20 Thunderbolt & P-38F Lightning in the Pacific- -- Something for the PTO players -- = For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) = *There is a possibility that this mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs, due to the excessive modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment.* Mods/reskins/redcals for 2 of Wolf257's WW2 aircaft. This package contains BOTH full, complete aircraft: P-47D-20 (Razorback) Thunderbolt, with 2 skins: 348th FG, originally by Major Lee (with some new decals by me), circa 1943-ish 39th FS, 35th FG circa 1944/45 in the Phillipines "Generic" P-38F Lightning for late 42-43 (pre-red outline starbar) All skins are in jpg format, Decal Randomization is TRUE. Both get new SF2 versions of the original 'box art' hangar screens. DDS damage textures for the Jug; the old tga version are still used on the Lightning. Destroyed models are included for both (taken from the WW2 terrains). Stary's WW2 late 1 cockpit is included for the Jug. The P-38 uses it's original Wolf pit. Both have semi-compliant SF2 Flight Models, but they do need further fine tuning by experts. All lighting on both aircraft is 100% historically correct. As always, fairly easy to follow, highly detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. Major Lee's original readme for the 348th skin is included for historical purposes Happy Hunting! wrench kevin stein Click here to download this file
  21. Identify this Aircraft

yup, Gannet c'mon! give us something really obsure!!
  22. looks like a -4, with Yagi antenna (4 blade prop, no spinner) any thoughts of doing the -1 as as well (3 bladed prop, with spinner, 4 50cal in wing)? i'm pming the Detail & Scale to you. I think it'll be of GREAT assistance!
  23. File Name: SF2 Ki-43 Hayabusa (Oscar) Pak (by Wolf257) File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 20 August 2012 File Category: Other Nakajima Ki-43 Hayabusa "Oscar" Pak for SF2 (Wolf257) -- Something for the PTO players -- = For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) = *There is a possibility that this mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs, due to the excessive modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment.* Mods/reskins/redcalings for Wolf257's Ki-43 IJAAF WW2 aircaft. This package contains the full aircraft, 'rebuilt' into several variants: Allowing for physical differences that cannot be changed between variants, this package contains the following aircraft: Ki-43i Ki-43ic Ki-43IIB Ki-43III For a listing of Sentai, consult the various aircraft aircraft folders. Remember, this LOD is from 2004, the MAX files are unavailable, so it is as it is. Compliants on the physical model will be ignored. All skins are in jpg format, Decal Randomization is TRUE (for the one skin that has numbers). Chutai markings for all but the 'green' skin are decals. All get new SF2 versions of the original 'box art' hangar screens (it's the same screen reused for all!). DDS damage textures and Destroyed models are included for all (taken from the WW2 terrains). Due to the mapping being the same, what with the same lod being used for all, all skins are easily transferable between the different variants. In truth, 99.9% of Oscar units used all the variant at some point during the War. All have (pretty much the same, with slight differences) semi-compliant SF2 Flight Models, but they do need further fine tuning by experts. All lighting is 100% historically correct. All weapons, guns, a pilot figure and sounds are included. As always, fairly easy to follow, highly detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. All original readmes, if I'd found them, are included for historical purposes. Happy Hunting! wrench kevin stein Click here to download this file
