responding in more detail to you thread at 3rdWire.... i'm making the assumption (oh! that word!!) this is the effect you wanted on the DH4 cockpt. I didn't repaint the fuel gauge, as I wanted a comparision (but easily done!. looking through the cockpit OUT, as you mentioned you have this example (all other needles are the same: WaterNeedle (16 polys, 48 verts) 'GlossBlack' that means it has a material applied in MAX, that takes the place of what usually would be a texture (bmp or tga, as in stock aircraft and many 3rd parties) at the bottom of the OUT you have this (emphasis added by me) unfortunatly, the 'no texture' is the issue. what that means is there is no way to change the color of the needle withOUT going back into MAX and changing the material. OTH, (I assume Stephan built the cockpit..) if he can go back into MAX and texture it, it's a super simple matter to change the color. In truth, that is the best alternative!

Himalaya Terrain Updates, For SF2 Series (& SF/Wo*, too!) I was unable to find the readme that came with Major Lee's original release, so this will have to suffice. This terrain was first released in 2004. Some modifications and the like for Major Lee's Himalaya terrain, updating tileing, targeting, movements and suchlike. Designed for use in a Full-4 Merged SF2 install. It should, however, work just fine in standard unmerged installs, and with some editating, in all 1stGen series as well. As stated above, this is the FULL terrain, with all internal objects needed. You simply need to unzip and install. Some new tiles have been added to make it look a bit more 'lived in', and several new target areas have been added (cause everyone needs someone to bomb...). All the inis have been updated, and a new Movements.ini created for CAS and Armed_Recon missions. This map also makes use of the LimitedNations and LimitedMissions statements for both sides, so you won't have any Anti-ship missions since the nearest ocean is like 1500+ miles to the south. You will also be extracting and editing the game's Nations.ini to add the new nation of Nepal. A new Nepalese ground unit is also supplied. This terrain mod, while designed for SF2 merged installs, is easily back-dated for use in all 1st Gen SF/SFG/Wo* game installs at the 08 Patch Level. You'll just need to change the shader statments; instructions are below. No editing is necessary for the ground objects; other than having the guns and weapons for the infantry unit. Also added are several new tiles, creating some cities, hills and mountains, rivers for the region, and filling in the Kathmandu valley with farms and fields. The northern, higher elevations (heading into Tibet and China), while having a city or 2, are still predominantly snow/rock fields. Some liberties have been taken with target placements, but they are named correctly, and more or less in their Real Life locations. Give or take a few dozen kilometers, and several thousand meters in altitude. This terrain mod contains 2 of the highest altitude airbases in any mod ... fly accordingly! It is ALSO highly reccomended you READ this entire document through before installing this mod. Especially the Notes section. If you don't, you're SURE to run into problems. And then, we'll clown on you. Hard and mercilessly. Happy Landings! Wrench Kevin Stein -

MiG-9 "Fargo" (by Timmy & Lexx_Luthor) -- SF2 UpDate Pak = For SF2, Any/All (Full 4/5 Merged Reccomended) = An upgrade pack for Timmy/Lexx_Luthor's early Soviet Jet Fighter. This mod will replace any others, including the one I did several years ago. This'll give another early 1stGen Jet Fighter for the Red side, for whatever use you see fit to put it to. This is the complete aircraft package, with a new cockpit - a slight modification of Stary's Mig pit-, all new 90% SF2 compliant FM, and 7 skins (all the ones I could find). All weapons (ie: the drop tank) are included. You should already have the necessary guns, so they are not supplied. A pilot figure and seat are also included, as are new Hangar and Loading screens. Also new are dds damage textures. The skins are basically the same as when first released, with the additon of a nicer natural metal Soviet by p10ppy (shown in the accompanying screenshot). The Soviet skins have been renamed slightly. Check the drop down on the loadout screen for the selection. Included is Timmy's fictional Polish AF camo*. Where necessary, all decal inis have been pointed to stock items; decal randomization is set to TRUE for all skins. *Please note, the Polish skin references bort numbers that may only be available in SF2E* As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. Please read them! Don't forget the 'Notes' section for other usless information, clarifications, and general ramblings. For historical purposes, the Original Release Read-me is included. Other credits are listed further down this (the readme) document. Happy Landings! wrench kevin stein -
