  1. Yup, that most certainly works!! (just tried it) so, now begins the diagnostic ... adding back GOs until it f***s up again.... I"ll start by readdind AD units (Hawks, bofors, skysweeper, other sams and such) before starting with ships
  2. never mind ... I just tried it, and it changed nothing on either cubaotc or libya. now, i'm running this mostly in my SF2 'all is everything mod'. I wonder if something hasn't been fully updated for SF2/E/V/I odd thing is, they all worked before the April patch.
  3. kodiak: try renameing all the ships EXCEPT all the SF/SFNA stock one, to something like xtrawler, for example. if we remove all the add-on cargoships, trawlers, tugs, combatants...maybe it can be narrowed down to those. just an idea.
  4. you also have to tell it how LARGE a parking span is used, as per the stock Cruds.... MinBaseSize=SMALL CarrierBased=TRUE CarrierParkSpan=7.20 CarrierParkAnimationID=6 (btw, the above IS for the F-8A mod)
  5. no, pulling it sort of creates a 'copy' in the extract to ... folders. adding a hangar (or loading) screen is a simple matter editing the relevant line inthe main ini, and placing the new screen directly into the aircraft's folder (example, would be my F-16A pak, made from TK's F-16A Netz, it has both new hangar and loading screens) [AircraftData] AircraftFullName=F-16A Blk 10 Falcon (3W) AircraftShortName=F-16A AircraftDataFile=F-16A_data.ini LoadoutFile=F-16A_loadout.ini UserList=F-16A_UserList.ini CockpitDataFile=F-16A_Netz_cockpit.ini LoadoutImage=F-16A_Netz_loadout.TGA HangarScreen=F-16A_Hangar.jpg <---- LoadingScreen=Falcon_Loading.jpg <---- AvionicsDLL=Avionics70.dll AvionicsDataFilename=F-16A_Netz_avionics.ini
  6. Yah, nothing has jumped out at me either. I've compared all the 4 stock terrain data inis, freshly pulled, with ALL the terrains, and they're exactly the same. well, there's only one way to test that....remove the docked warships by renaming their callouts in the targets inis, like so: Target[063].Type=xHMASAustralia Target[063].Offset=-1385,233 Target[063].Heading=90 Target[064].Type=xHMASMelborne Target[064].Offset=-1370,88 Target[064].Heading=90 Target[065].Type=xSUMNERFRAM2 Target[065].Offset=-1300,335 Target[065].Heading=90 (note the "X" on the Type= line Here's a partial list of terrains in my 'all is everything SF2 install', full updated and Full-5 merged, of terrains taht lock at 80% (mind you, 2 listed are NOT yet available) ASW Anatolia (V2) Libya CubaOTC -which WAS working before the April patch, btw! (as was seemingly most things) Darwin (modern) Korea (KAW mod) these terrains seem to 'hang' at 80 for 30 sec-1 minute (or more), but eventually start Iran/Iraq IR 2003 SoCal Persian Gulf Sweden of the 'naval maps', DBS Panama seem ok. Panama has a wealth of docked ships, but not too many combatants. PG has several docked warships, and a working 'carrier zone', and althoug loading slow -also a consequence of my heavy hand in populating maps- seems relatively ok. Those that DON'T have oceans, Himalaya Afghanistan Eritrea/Ethopia (ok, a small ocean, but NO carrier zones) have no issues (obviously!) So, I don't have a frakking clue as to what causing it; other than something introduced with the 4/12 patch. Stary: yes you did. I was just in Egypt about the whole thing (ie: in DeNile )
  7. I didn't want to say this on an open fourm, but... I fear the days of modding might be nearing their end. and I have 4 or 5 terrains still in the works...
  8. how true allen!! That one's based off the stock A-7D_78. of course, dumba$$ me totally forgot there's 2 by TMF! A-7E(H), and A-7H (H seen below). Pretty easy to upgrade the avionices to SF2; FM will no doubt need some tweeking. prolly be MUCH quicker and easier to fiddle the TMF versions! (harder then hell to try to find a now-working terrain to take a screenie one ... the April patch really f***ed things up! Half my terrains -including MANY of my own, have just stopped working -locks/freezes at 80%. oh man...this is so frakking tiresome....)
  9. a quick redecaling (ie: rerused off the TMF version) of a stock Corsair ... any interest??

  11. depends on WHAT year your flying ... the question has been asked and answered over at the 3rdWire forums. Also depends on the terrain ... very few have been upgraded for the new 'naval zones' (and those that are, are a bit wonky) meaning: NONE of the stock carriers exist before 1956. also, have you added the new, correct statements in the F-8A's data ini, for carrier ops?
  12. does the cockpit in have the necessary shader and effects statements for HUDs???? pull the F-15A or the F-16A Netz, and LOOK at the HUD statements ... I"ll bet money those statements are missing
  13. gettung the same issues with Anatolia and a couple others (have to recheck) I don't understand WHY it's breaking non-naval maps....
  14. yup, the LODs are locked away, but all the inis/skins/decals are still available. You just have to browse (ie: open with the 3W extractor) each cat and see what's where -- and things sometimes are pretty scattered
  15. and DO NOT TOUCH THE ALPHA LAYER in ANY TGA!!! to change the color, you're going to paint below that alpha, directly onto the RGB layers. It's pretty easy; I've done it lots of times
  16. Kevin´s Turn

    my brothers, Thank You!!
  17. to say nothing of the rivers and 'thunder bay' that I've always wanted to add. It's such a FUN terrain!! ------ ok, the required screenshot, entitled "Just Visiting"

McD/Boeing RAF Eagle FGR.1 Mod for WoE ONLY!! Another "What If..." This is a package of ini and skin (well, decals, anyway) mods for the stock F-15A that comes with WoE. It creates a new aircraft, for use by the Royal Air Force. From the ReadMe: = TO INSTALL: It IS suggested that you have the latest weapons pak installed to get the maximum use out of the available weapons capabilities....but this is easily changed to use the "stock" non-modifed weapons. More on that later.... == REMEMBER: This mod is for use in WOE -ONLY!!!- as all the parts ONLY exist there == --- Also -- this if for the STOCK 3rd Wire F-15A ONLY - NOT the MF version --- REMEMBER -- this is NOT a full aircraft, and you MUST have Wings Over Europe to make use of this aircraft mod. When you unzip to a temp directory, a new "Eagle_FGR1" folder will be created. In it you'll find everything you need to just copy/paste this new bird into your /objects/aircraft folder. Including all the modified stock inis and new damage tgas, somehow overlooked, which are also usable on the standard WoE F-15A. But you'r not ready to fly yet..... All the cockpit files, cockpit ini, etc, are making use of ALL the stock WoE bits. They are NOT included, but the ini is (to make your life a little easier; & cause I forgot to remove it!) You'll find a bunch of inis, bmps, tgas, whathave you for this install. The data ini has had the NationName= set to "RAF", so when you fly you'll get RAF medals, and have British flightmates. The loadout has also been adjusted to use UK and USAF weapons. Just about all types of weapons are loadable, most particulary EOGB, ASM, ARM, EOGR, TV guided missiles, iron bombs and CBUs. The aircraft is NOT equiped with a laser designator, so LGBs are not an option. REMEMBER -- this is NOT a full aircraft, and you MUST have Wings Over Europe to make use of this aircraft mod. You'll have the skin folders; "RAF" which just contains a few decals and inis -- you'll need to transfer over the 6 skin bmps from your stock WOE F-15A, as these are reused. In fact, even the decals are the stock ones, just desaturated by me to give them that 'lo-viz' look. The RAF serials are also stock in-game from the F-4M Phantom. They may not be historically correct (yeah, like anything in this mod IS???), but they fit into the era, and look nice. -getting the point?? this is for WoE ONLY -- I will not violate copyright and upload files that at not leagle to share. -- There are further, more detailed instructions for those without the weapons pak -- folks, I spent a lot of time on the readme (actually, more on that than modding the bird!!!), so for the love of flying, I beg you -PLEASE- read it!! With thanks to all the other crazies out there like me that just can't leave a good thing alone! Take that Fighter Mafia!!! Good Hunting! Wrench Kevin Stein

File Name: A-7E (74) VA-72 Bluehawks skin pak -SF2/SF2NA File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 04 April 2012 File Category: A-7 A-7E Corsair II (74) VA-72 "Bluehawks" Skin Pak = For SF2, Full-5 Merged Required; and/or SF2:NA -ONLY!!- = Again, as stated above this is for the stock 3rdWire A-7E_74 ONLY!! If you do not possess SF2NA (or other games that may have this aircraft accessable -cause I don't remember if it was or wasn't before!!!), DO NOT download this mod, as you will =NOT= be able to use it. This is the companion skin for the recently released A-7E_74 VA-46 "Clansmen" skin. It represents the sister squadron, VA-72 "Bluehawks" both of whom were based aboard USS John F. Kennedy during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. These were to last 2 operational Corsair II squadrons in USN service, as the type was retired upon the JFK returning to port. It is HIGHTY suggested you have the SF2/SF2NA Skin pak available at: http://combatace.com/files/file/12822-a-7e74-lo-viz-skinini-pak-for-sf2sf2na/ as there are some decals called that reference some in that pack. Several decals have been repurposed and repainted from an original FOTF skin mod for many year ago. Many new decals have also been created (note: the first 12 BuNums have been remade from the originals, and may actually represent aircraft that served with this squadron. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. Please read them before installing! Happy Landings! Click here to download this file

A-7E Corsair II (74) Skin Pak = For SF2, Full-5 Merged Required; and/or SF2:NA -ONLY!!- = Again, as stated above this is for the stock 3rdWire A-7E_74 ONLY!! If you do not possess SF2NA (or other games that may have this aircraft accessable), DO NOT download this mod, as you will =NOT= be able to use it. However, as the standard or garden variety A-7E shares the same mapping (as do all the 3W Corsairs), it is VERY possible that these skins would be usable on them, with a simple rename to fit. BUT...as the stock A-7E has an end-of-service-date of 1976, that may be a moot point. Read on... This pack contains 2 new "TPS" lo-viz skin and decals sets. These skins were created from a new Home Grown Template ™ and are in JPG format. The templates will also be available for use, once I upload them. Also included are slightly modified Data and Loadout inis. The wingfold (which was NOT active at ALL before) and canopy are operated via manual animation keys; the Usual Suspects - Shift/0 for canopy and Shift/9 for wingfold. The loadout ini includes some changes to standard dumb-bomb loads, giving you a bit more striking power. As I like to have Altantic & Pacific Fleet squadrons represented by at least one skin each, the skins in this pak are: VA-25 "Fist of the Fleet" (circa late 80s/early 90s) VA-46 "Clansmen" (in the Corsair's final deployment during Desert Shield/Desert Storm) These skins BOTH have the "StartDefaultDate=" set for 1982, an approximate date based on my research. This will OVERRIDE any other stock skins, so be aware of this fact. This was done for historicality, and to encourage other skinner/decalers to step up and fill in some of the gaps. Get to it people! All markings on both are decals, making it MUCH easier for other squadron to be created in the Lo-Viz scheme. Almost all decals are new; some are repurposed from other mods. The 1st 10 Bunms for the Clansmen are newbuilds, based upon BuNums from a FOTF original skin. I think the Corsair II is a very overlooked aircraft, and it's time to give it a little love. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. Please read them before installing! Please browse the Notes section for other illuminations. Good Hunting! wrench kevin stein
