DH Venom
Wrench replied to paulopanz's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
remember, too, if you point to a stock cockpit, like the Hunter (which should be pretty damn close), the pilot's position in regards to the airframe WILL be off. If you extract the Hunter's cockpit ini, make the adjustment to properly position him, you won't have a cockpt in-game, as the cockpit ini will be looking for the /cockpit folder. Which means, extracting ALL the Hunter pit bits, and dropping them into the Venom's /cockpit folder. (not really hard, but time consuming, and newer, inexperienced end users will most likely get into trouble trying to figure it out. And as they can't be included...???) OTH, has anyone tried to edit a stock cockpit ini (position-wise), but NOT have the /cockpit folder present?? [CockpitData] Directory=cockpit <--- HUDMode=CAGED,AA,AG RippleQuantity=1,2,4 RippleInterval=60,100,140 is there a way to change that line, and still have a functioning/visible pit, with all the stuff still in the ObjectData cat??? I've never seen it work, personally, but who knows?? wrench kevin stein -

cockpit ini for the relevant aircraft (if not supplied with the download, you'll have to extract from the ObjectData***cat) For the F-15A, it's in ObjectData010.cat wrench kevin stein -

Pasko's Su-9A/9B, Su-11 Fishpots for SF2
Wrench posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
File Name: Pasko's Su-9A/9B, Su-11 Fishpots for SF2 File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 31 May 2010 File Category: Su-11 Sukhoi Su-9A/9B and Su-11 Upgrade Pak for SF2 series A relatively large upgrade pak, with some relatively minor tweeks for Pakso's Fishpot series of Soviet Interceptors, for use with SF2 Series games, either stand-alone or full merged installs. As seen in the original Upgrade pak, landing lights have been added, and in this pak, canopies have been activated via a manual animation key (Shift/0). Landing gear rolling radi have been adjusted to make the aircraft sit a little more evenly in SF2. Afterburner effects have been swichted over to a stock, game supplied one. No other changes to the FM have been effected; there is the occasional 'burp' in it, but it flys and handles quite nicely, given the time passed from their Original Release . This package, broken down into individual folder for ease of installation, is the COMPLETE Package of all 3 aircraft, and includes the changes from the WoE 08 Upgrade Pak. Mostly consisting of ini mods, that 'tweek' the data, and loadout inis, making them more usable in the SF2 series. Ordway's cockpits are also included, as is my 'instructional' text and jpg for use with the gunpods on the Su-11. This pack is designed to work with any, or no Weapons Pak, as Weapons ARE included, for those that don't have/use a weapons pak. PLEASE read the Notes below for some explainations of whyfores and wherefores, with reference to the Su-11. New 'generic' SF2-style hangar screens are also included for all 3 aircaft. Userlists have also been created, thereby limiting their 'deployment' only to the Soviet Air Force. This mod has been tested in SF2, Full 4-merged sims, at the May 2010 patch level. I haven't tested it in SF/Wo*, but don't feel there'd be any major differences, other than how the weapons are handeled. However, the landing gear rolling radui has been adjusted for SF2, and may need readjustment for 1stGens. The canopy fixes used here can be easily applied to the original 08 upgrade pak quickly, easily and with no problems. As always, it's reccomended to read this document through; there's some explainations along with the instructions as to why/how certain things were done. Also, for a full lisitng of Credits and Sources. Good Hunting! Comrade Wrench Kevin Stein Click here to download this file -

the shadow issue drives/drove me nuts. That's why I inluded the 21MF_shadow.SHD, and it STILL didn't work!! of course, when parked the 'tractor beam' dosen't show (nor from inside the cockpit! <grin>) It can always be turned off in Su-**/ini. Stil, DO bug me! wrench kevin stein -

no problem, brother! That's good info ... I'd just add on extra step ... execute it to a temp folder or desktop, so it's easily found. Hopefully, the d/l issue will be resolved soon! wrench kevin stein -

to make the things move (ie: use animations), one would need the original MAX file. Then, one would rebuild the cockpit in MAX to add the animations. Unfortunately, its unavailable wrench kevin stein -

ok, I see now!! I'm assuming you're installing to WoE with the 08 patch? If so, that'll require the newer Weapons Editor (2/20/08, iirc). It should be in the downloads section under "Utilites". Run it in compatability for Winge95 (again, iirc!!!), and that should fix it. Same for the gun editor, but the old one STILL works in the 08 level. Just run in compatability. if the WepEd that came with the d/l is NOT dated 08, just toss it out. wrench kevin stein -

Yes, that is absoolutely correct, Big D!!! But, people want to spend their time, It's their time to waste, so ..... BUT ... if those superfort skins turn out good ... we'll probably ask for them! (saves me s**t-loads of time; even though I've got ALL the decal positions already plotted from my WW2 skin sets) Its mostly that the existing terrain (dated 2005) is pretty much beyond help. wrench kevin stein -
