A little metric help needed
Wrench posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Ok, what I have is a 295 gallon belly tank. I'd no problem converting the gallons -> liters, which worked out to 1116.4. What I'm need is HOW much it weighs, in kilograms, for the weapons data ini weight section one the online converts I found saind 1.04 kg per liter, which gives me a weight (more or less) of 1073kg. Is 'in the ballpark'? thanks! wrench kevin stein -

A little metric help needed
Wrench replied to Wrench's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
thanks guys! and the aircraft data ini uses KG for the weight in the Internal Fuel Tanks, right??? so...if I have 1420 liters, total, split between 3 fuse tanks...give 474 (apporx) liters each...then just convert wrench kevin stein -

Mig-19s dont have radar (unless it's the 19P or PM -and those work just fine!) The Flagon issue is with the radar tga -- convert it to bmp. It's covered in the KB someplace, although I disremember exactly where. wrench kevin stein -

We've already got a Mitchell with the 75 ... can't see a need for a 'What If...' prototype. And we've got the 110E (?) with the underbelly cannon, and the Hs-129, so the Luftwaffe is covered too. Let me tell ya, it's harder than hell to be accurate with ANY of the those guns!!! There's a LOT of gaps in Real Aircraft that need filling. While I relish the thought of "hey, lets see how this might have worked...", I doubt we'll ever see one. But, ya never know!! I'd like to see a Moonbat, just to see what the aerodynamics would be like on that blended body wrench kevin stein -

on the auxintakes, they should be in the exact same positions, with the exact same sizes as the fueleage decals. look at TMFs decals ini for the stock AdA decals, you'll see what a mean. wrench kevin stein -

that book I sent you has some GREAT interior shots, which is why I "settled" on a modded F-4 pit. Albeit not correct, but a 'best closest fit'. Even though the fight insruments are in the wrong places, there was no radar display for the pilot, I basically used it for the 'twin engine annunciator' panels that have a nice steam-gauge look. don't forget, the pilot sat up front (ok, on the left), with nothing but black boxes and empty beer cans on the right. The other crew members sat behind him, so I didn't feel the need for adding anything on the right side. Now, if I could have figured out how to remove the right side bulkhead.... since that's where the thottle pedestal actually was... wrench kevin stein -
Northeast USA terrain?
Wrench replied to mppd's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
All we need are the object buildings, and the will to place them...and that ain't hard at all! making a 'civil' airport out of the existing ones (even though you'll have HUNDREDS of military flights) is just a simple matter of calling it that in targets ini although, having the correct SHAPES (ie: correct runway lods) is up to our talented 3d guys. wrench kevin stein -

Bf-109E-7 by RussoUK

File Name: Bf-109E-7 by RussoUK File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 7 May 2009 File Category: Axis Fighters Bf-109 E-7 Trop for SF/SFG/WoV/WoE WWII North Africa --for Games at 06 Patch Level -ONLY!!!- This is a mod of Russo's great Bf-109 E-3, to make the Bf-109 E-7 Trop as used in North Africa in WWII. The E-7 is a much more typical aircraft for WWII North Africa than other the earlier variants of the Bf-109E. The principal differences from the earlier variants were the ability to carry a bomb or drop tank under the fuselage, and a slightly more powerful engine. Russo made and released a LOD for the E-7 model, which has a bomb/drop tank cradle under the fuselage, but never released the completed mod. Here it is, FM changes and all, with two new skins, a new desert camo skin and a plain desert tan skin. The cockpit is especially for the Bf-109E by Kesselbrut, the skins by Charles. A new Revi 3 gunsight has been added by me, based on the one from the EAW PappaRomeo pak. Included are the original hangar and loading screens, as well as one of my 'boxart' types and a generic 'mto_109_loading.bmp. (that one actualy depicts Franz models, but is a VERY nice painting by Trudigan) = IMPORTANT: This aircraft is designed for use in SF/WoV/WoE -ONLY- at the 10/06 patch levels. It has =NOT= been tested it in post 8/28/08 patch WoI, nor post 9/08 - 10/08 patch SF/SFG/WoV/WoE. Nor has it been tested in SF2 or SF2:V. You use it in these enviroments at YOUR own risk. = As always, it's reccomened you unzip this package to a temp folder, or your desktop, to gain access to the rest of this readme for the full, easy to follow install instructions. Happy Hunting! Wrench Kevin Stein with thanks to Russo for allowing me to upload! Click here to download this file -
Northeast USA terrain?
Wrench replied to mppd's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
jeez....how to explain "New Order America".... think of the US broken up into enclaves, some good, some not. Picture everything west of the Mississippi to the Rockies a radioactive wasteland... Picture an American occupied by Soviet forces (and their allies, both WarPac AND American). Picture a country where even possessing the American Flag is a death penalty... This is the world of "The Wingman", Major Hawk Hunter, ex-USAF who flys the last remaining F-16 in the world... Here's the author's site: http://www.mackmaloney.com/home.html I have all but one of the books, the long missing #11 "The Ghost War" wrench kevin stein -
