  1. pablito: get over to the Knowledge Base, and read my 'Bunyap Pak Weapons and Loadout Fixes" thread, and also the "How to get the Weapons & Gun Editors Working". hint: Win98 compatability Everything you need to know is readly available...you just have to look for it. Wrench kevin stein
  2. It's called Vista...another fine Micro$oft product. remember, TK himself dosen't reccomend using any of his stuff in Vista; these are the work-arounds developed to get up working. Vista versions MAY be out near the end of the year/early next year. And as Dave said, all the answers to this are posted in the KB, readily available erikgen! Wrench kevin stein
  3. Cause maybe I don't have it???? ... I'm assuming it's in Taz's Gigantic Sabre Pak??? What's cool about this skin, you can use it on any of the Sabres; all you need do is adjust the aircraft's folder name. Since they're all mapped the same... Wrench kevin stein

F-86E-10 Sabre, 54th FIW "The Hunters" mod for SF/WoV/WoE/WoI This is a small mod, and reskin, of the F-86E-10 released by Bob "howling1" Hauser several years ago; which in itself is a mod of Zur's F-86 Sabre. I've included Bob's original readme, so you can see his comments. This is a complete aircraft, with all the trimmings. EVERYTHING is here to allow you to just unzip, and fly off to MiG Alley. The cockpit ini has had a little mod that includes the K-14 A-A and A-G gunsight tgas (seen also in several other WW2 & Korean era aircraft I've released) There are 2 skin included, a slight revamping of the original "USAFSilver1", fixing some decal issues, and one of the most wanted Sabre skins of all time: The 54th FIW, as seen in the motion picture "The Hunters". Serial and buzz numbers for the first 14 aircraft come right from viewing the DVD, the others are 'leftovers' from another Sabre skin I did. Pilot names have been added to the canopy rail, so you can fly as your favorite character from the movie, or famous people from the 3rd Wire Sim community. Damage tgas have also been included, just it case Casey Jones shows up and shoots you full of holes.... A revamped/cleaned up version of my "Sabre1_Hangar" is also included. == You MUST have the Bunyap Weapons Pak of 6/06 to get the WW2 style weapons ,and the Sabre drop tanks. I've not including any of them. So, if you're using the TMF weapons pak, you'll have to import the needed items. == The aircraft has been tested in SF/WoV/WoE. Other Sabre versions work fine in WoI, so you should have almost no problems with it, if installed there. But again, 'use at your own risk'. That's CYA for me! Please read the included "readme" file for install instructions. Also, the usual "Note & Comments" by General BS Good Hunting!! Wrench Kevin Stein yah, I know it's the same screenie as the preview, but I just don't get tired of looking at it!
  5. File Name: Seahawk F.1A, "What If..." Korean War Mod File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 01 July 2008 File Category: Hawker Seahawk Seahawk F.1A, Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm - A "What If..." mod for SF/WoV/WoE, Korean War installs This is a mod of Bunyap's Seahawk into a "What If..." version, as might have been used by the FAA during the Korean War. It's a sort of "kitbashed" version, as I've combined the F.1 and FB.3 versions, to give a sort of field-modification feel to the weapons loadouts. I say 'kitbashed', when perhaps I should say 'combined', as the F.1s never had any provisions for A-G munitions; no rockets, no bombs, no napalm -- just their guns. So, I figured, due to the extingincies of war, the MoD and/or crews in the field, perfromed a hack-job, and "borrowed" the mounts and wiring and other etc bits off other aircraft to give them the capability to load and fire the 60-lb rocket, so prevalent on RAF/FAA aircraft. The skin, which is 'borrowed' from the FGA.6, has been repainted, from a new partial template (new panel lines added where necessary), with the black-and-white Invasion Stripes used in the KTO for identification of Allied/UN/FAA aircraft (as seen on the Sea Fury, Firefly and Seafires). One of the best things about Buny's Seahawks, is they're all mapped identicaly, making the job soooo much easier. The skin represents 898 Squadron, Fleet Air Arm, embarked aboard HMS OCEAN in the very-late 1952/early 1953 time frame. New decals have been created by me, with serial numbers for 24 aircraft (probably at least twice the number in a Royal Navy carrier squadron). The serials are 100% accurate, as they ARE all from production F.1s, but since this is obviously a 'What If...' aircraft, they can't be considered accurate for the Korean War. (neither can the aircraft, but what the hell...it's a game and all for fun!!!) This is an almost full aircraft package, with all the inis, skin, new decals, lods etc. Excepting that NO cockpit has been supplied with this aircraft. However, for WoE users, I've included a modified version of the HunterFGA9 cockpit ini, with the pilot positon adjusted to match the physical model. In my estimation, it's the best one available, as it has that nice Post-War/1950s steam gauge look. As an alternative, for SF/WoV users, I've included the cockpit ini from my 'jet-modded-Spitfire pit'. You'll see it as "SeaHawk_cockpit.ini". You'll need to download my WW2:1946 Vampire to obtain all the necessary cockpit bits. More, highly detailed, step-by-step information is below, in the "To Instalate" instructions. 2 Hangar screens have been supplied; one is my old version and another BRAND NEW!! -only available in this mod- WoE style, repsenting a carrier deck. The Loading screen is still the original from Bunyap. =You MUST have the Bunyap Weapons Pak to have the WW2/Post-War/Korean War Era weapons!!! I've not supplied any of the rockets or drop tanks with this mod, as they are already in the BunyPak. If not using the BunyPak (ie: TMF Weapons Pak), you'll need to get the Seahawk Package at CombatAce, as it contains the drop tanks. The Rockets you'll have to add from the BunyPak = IMPORTANT: This aircraft is designed to be used in SF/WoV/WoE -- it has NOT been tested in WoI. In fact, I don't think I've even flown ANY of the Seahawks in WoI yet!!! But it should be good as is. It's a jet, not a prop job; so hopefully... As always, READ the enclosed readme for full, detailed install instructions. Happy Landings!! Wrench kevin stein Click here to download this file

  7. No!!! But I do now!!! A million blessing on you and your family, my brother!!! That's a resouce we can all use. I'd always wondered if there was a Brit equlivant of Baugher's serial number site!!! Wrench kevin stein
  8. A well known 'tweek'!! How do you think we make all those different colored drop tanks for the Zipper and Rhino, to say nothing about Pilot figures!!! Note to self: rewrite tutorial on hex editing, and post in KB (as per Spinners questions on the desert & blue RAF Zipper tanks) Wrench kevin stein
  9. Ya know, I've never added statics to CVs...since I've never figured out the mission builders, so I can't really answer if it's done the same way as statics at a 'fixed' airbase. In THOSE cases, this is MY prefered method; using them as TERRAIN objects, and NOT GroundObjects, you'd need to add the static to the terrain's ***_targets and ***_types.inis. The put the static aircraft bits (inis, lod, skin bmps) into the terrain folder in question. BTW, even is used as a GroundObject, the item would still need the additions to the targets & types inis. And of course, figuring out the placement offsets in said targets ini, at whatever airbase you're adding them to. Hey 8, that's a GREAT sig pic!!! Can you shoot me copy, or tell me where to get it??? I see an "All American" nose art in the offing.... Wrench kevin stein
  10. Everyone repeat after me: THE KNOWLEDGE BASE IS YOUR FRIEND This is your new mantra; practice it!!! Find the inner center of your data ini; focus you inner sight on the goal of achieving proper loadouts; this is the Way to True Gaming Perfection.... In my "Weapons & Loadout Fixes Thread", you'll find all the answers you're going to need to fix all the Red Air birds, because the NEXT obvious questions is: 'how come none of my MiGs have missiles?' So, little brother, haul it over to the KB, and start reading. Click Me!!! -->Weapons, Loadout and Other Fixes of Interest for the Bunyap Pak <<---I'm A Link!!! And don't forget to grab the CatExtractor Tool, over in the 'Utilities & Tools' section in the Downloads Wrench kevin stein
  11. (insert slimy salesman's voice) Ah, you've come to the right place for you menu screens questions, my frrriend! Yes, there are many available for you usage!! (end slimy salesman voice) When you add a new 'generic' loading screen, they go into the /Flight folder -- which seems awfully strange to me, but that's how it works. So, you default will always be what ever the game had stock (and yet another reason AGAINST merged installs) Somewhre around here, at CA is a Generic Loading screen I did for Korea some years ago. If not here, I know it's a my site (my god!!! that's thing is from 2005!!!! Jeeez!!!!!) Here's the direct link: http://wrench1smog.com/zips2/korealoadingscreen.zip I AM the Screen King, after all -- NOBODY'S talking that title away!!! Wrench kevin stein
  12. Why not finish the job, and do the rest of the edits to the data and loadout ini, creating a fully RAF bird??? Mabye about 30 mins more work!! Good job, and when I get NFG her decals, we'll have matching serials for the fuselage, too. Unless, of course, somebody ponies up the production list..... Wrench kevin stein
  13. Actually, I think I forgot a zero!! But my nose arts are better!!! (probably because I'm such a perv.....) The real pisser is, now that Time-Wanker Cable has discontinued the newsgroups, there goes my acess to the celebrity fakes newsgroups!!! *&^%$#@!-- may they burn!! Wrench kevin stein
  14. Well, for the SeahawkF.1A, there's 24 aircraft, with 3 differents sets of decals (id number, the underwing serials, and the RN tail tag with the serial). For the Sabre, its pretty much the same, excepting that fact I only had to make 14 sets of serial and buzzz numbers, as I reused some from another Sabre skin I did. The pilot names .... well, there's 24 of them. According to TK, IIRC, the minimum number is 18. NFG's request will take a little time, as there's 100 serials for the underwing decals for the GR.3. Fortunately, WoE supplies the number.lst, so it's no guesswork as to what goes where with whom. You folks know I ALWAYS make at least 24 number sets, expecially for the WW2 stuff -RAF letters run to 26, so.....(A-Z) Wrench kevin stein ps: I'm trying to catch up with Dave...I think I"m only 1000 or so behind, including all the nose art and stuff
  15. File Name: F9F-5 Panther, skin and ini update pak File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 29 Jun 2008 File Category: F2H, F9F and F3H F9F-5 Panther Skin and Ini Update Pak for SF, WoV & WoE This little package will update Pasko's Panther and bring it to a more up-to-date level. I've reused one of the skin sets, the one for VF-51, as it has nice panel and rivet lines, and has the proper coloring on the wings -so I take NO credit for the actual skin bmps themselves!!! New data, loadout and cockpit inis are included, as I've made several changes in them. The skin folder included is designed to replace the "GoldenDragon" skin folder, as I've created all new decals for the Modex numbers, ship ID/Air Group letter, and all new BuNums. It represents aircraft from VF-192 "Golden Dragons" as seen in the movie 'Bridges at Toko-Ri'. All the BuNums are accurate, in that they are real ones assigned to F9F-5s, but only A/C # 202 and #209 are 100%, as they are the only one I could read viewing the DVD. I have also reused the "Golden Dragons" nose tag decal; so I get no credit for that one! The inis supplied have had a number of tweeks; the data ini gets duplicated wing stations to load rockets ONLY for some mission types, the loadout ini has been adjusted to reflect this, and the cockpit ini (albeit still using the A-4B pit) has had the pilot position adjusted to more match the Real Life ™ placement. A revamped/updated/cleaned-up version of my Panther Hangar screen is also included. =You MUST have the Bunyap Weapons Pak to have the WW2/Post-War/Korean War Era weapons!!! = IMPORTANT: This aircraft is designed to be used in SF/WoV/WoE -- it has NOT been tested with WoI, so I can't help you if you have any problems. 16. Soon to arrive In Theatre, for the F-86E Wrench kevin stein what, you think I'd do Casey Jones and him too????
  17. Well, the last 4 slots are still empty, and I'm including the "PName.bmp", so everyone is welcome to make them on their own. The numbers.lst shows ONLY the characters/production staff's names (director, writer, tech advisors, producer, music composer, etc) This IS the actual number.lst from the 54th FIW skin folder: Like I said, the last 4, 373-376 have no associated PName decal, soo..... Those not listed are the "usual suspects'' -- folks from around CombatAce, friends/family, etc. You can be damn sure my name shows up!!! Bonus points for IDing who's who from the production staff You can use IMDB if you have to...or the DVD (btw, some are uncredited actors/staff) Just don't change the 'historical' names -- it'll detract from the whole package. Wrench kevin stein
  18. You probably got zapped by the forward upper turret ... them cannons ain't friendly to aircraft structural metals... Happens all the time....those turrets ARE for self-defense, after all!!! It has nothing to do with the mission data section of the data ini at all. Built into the game's AI routines. Want a real good time???? Go up against a squadron of B-29s in a Tony or a Nick....hell, any of the WW2 bombers vs any WW2 fighter!! And watch the sparks fly!!! Even Beagle's will shoot at you with their tail turret. Wrench kevin stein
  19. Shoot, that ain't nothing!!! Couldn't have picked an easier set to do...all letters & numbers. I'm doing 75 decals for the Seahawk ALONE, and about 50+ for that Sabre mod. Give me the sequence letters/numbers (or I could try and find the production serials - I don't have any books on the GR.3, but could probably find some- ), and how many you want .... and a few days....as I'm almost done with a few mods, and was beginning to try to find something next....maybe a Modern Korea? Full of SAMs and nasty people.... PM or email me kjstein AT ca DOT rr DOT com Wrench kevin stein
  20. Nicki, can you show us an example??? I'm doing up the new Royal Navy sets for the Seahawk F.1A (for Korea), so I'm assuming it's something like those: Royal Navy WF151 They're really not that hard to! Honest!!! Expecially a single color like text. Try doing nose arts, when you have to colorize a b/w drawing!!! Talk about layers....jeeeezz!!!! Wrench kevin stein
  21. Glad you got it sorted!!! I know I'd written a tut for it, as someone else had asked about it, but couldn't find it here. Maybe I should do it again, and add it to the KB.... I'll put it on my list ! Interestering experience, isn't it??? Hex editing for the first time...I was a little nervous the first time I did (on pilot figures). The best thing is, if you screw it up, you just don't save the changes, and start over!!! Wrench kevin stein
  22. Weeeeellllll....this is what I got for ya, Zur.... I could probably re-do it, and add 'Rhino', but the damn text has to be soooo small to fit the canopy rail. Do it as a larger base; maybe 256x, then shrink it down, maybe???? I"ll experiment. After all, we DO gotta make the builder happy! Sure you wouldn't want it to say 'Mule' (as in hung like a...)????? BTW, DanW has one too. You'll all note the misplaced kill markings...just have to dial in that decal a little more forward & down, write the readme, etc. Hopefully, in the next few days. I'll be releasing it as a full aircraft; it's basically a reskin of Bob "howling1'' Hauser's F-86E-10, that still availabe at AvSim. I think it'll be easier as a full release. I did, however, 'borrow' Tazkiller's landing light positions from his Sabre Pak ... those have been driving me nuts for a while. Never could get them quite right. Now, the are!! I also fixed the decals/decals ini from the 'USAFSilver1' skin that came with it, as well. Wrench kevin stein
  23. Unfortunately, we're still stuck with one pilot figure per aircraft. Meaning, in this example, I'm using Diego's KUSAF02 (blue suit) in the F-86E-15. So, ALL E-15s have this dude. Converserly, the F-86F has Pilot0L, so all the Fs have the same guy. I really wish it was like decals, so you can assign specific pilots to specific numbered aircraft . In "The Hunters", each of the cast members had their own distinctive helmets. BTW, recently discoverd the character "Jackson" (wearing a light blue helmet) that replaces Corona in Cobra Flight, is Robert Reed, from "The Brady Bunch"!!!! Wrench kevin stein

  25. I've finished re-skinning the IL-2 for NK; just need to do up some bort numbers. Unless noone really cares, and we just use the stock red ones??? I've got about half of the stock Red Soviet numbers repainted to a very light (almost white) gray. Then just permissions so's I can upload it. Data/loadout, etc ini edits all use stock Soviet weapons (WP, Soviet attachements) You'd still need to have the original Stromo for the mod (lods, cockpit, etc) I wish we could have the real IL-10 "Beast", instead of the IL-2 ''Bark". But, hey, it's a believalbe mod (kinda sorta) Wrench kevin stein
